They leaned closer and closer, till their noses touched, which sent shivers down one's each spine like an unfamiliar feeling than ever before

They touch lips, forgetting their surroundings that only were deafened by their loss of hearing, they were stuck in the moment

Katara slowly opened her eyes and realised her mistake and backed away so suddenly, blushing cherry red

Aang rose a brow in confusion by her choice of mind but then recalled the past events and then covered his red face too that was contagious

"i-i'm sorry, i- d-didn't realise-"

"n-no d-don't a-a-apologise, i-it's my f-fault" Katara nervously giggled

The gang then suddenly arrived with there mouths stuffed with delicious delicacies which was labelled as ice cream and were astonished when they found the two past lovers like a blushing mess

"what happened here?" Toph quizzed as she wiggled her brows like it was at a disco party

Aang looked at her and shook his head, signalling her not to continue her ramble

Toph sighed and crossed her arms in dismay

Poor Zuko was dumbfounded and Sokka was like a detective, trying to puzzle everything together, he cared for Katara and any contact from her past lover who damaged her would get a beating and Suki followed on with Toph

It was their plan, only the boys were excluded of course

"you look like you saw a ghost or did contact happen?" Suki teased, her icy treat inched near her mouth

"n-no, we just chatted" Katara collected herself up and got all her funny feelings away as she stood up

Aang stood up too, wiping the imaginary dust off his clean pants

The two dumbfounded couple joined their pack, joining each side, to avoid their shoulders touching and really not to bring up the conversation of their previous activities

The gang reached their cars and Aang sadly stared at the car handle and turned back to Katara who seemed to lock contact with the stormy greyed eye boy

"something bothering you Katara?" Sokka called for Katara as he noticed her sad expression and how she stared far into the abyss

"o-oh nothing, let's go home" Katara called as she climbed into the freshly cleaned car

As the boy that stood there stared at the moving vehicle, after a couple seconds of deep thought, he made his mind up finally and went in his car, to repeatedly bang his head on the wheel, perhaps regretting his actions that replayed as a burden to his soul

. . .

The mindful Aang walked back into his shivering room and wore a quick hoodie and poped on the bed, sinking on the mattress

He pressed his fragile hands over his head in frustration

"I was an idiot" he mumbled under his own breath, realising his naive mind

Aang sat up on the bent mattress and checked his phone, looking up his calendar to check his timetable of numerous activities

He frowned, the day was packed till around 4

He sighed and sank back in the dissolving mattress and checked his ex's contact

He chuckled at her profile, which illuminated her face that shined to his heart and made it bump faster than on the regular

Only little did he know, that the same occurrence happened to her, Katara

Katara was too smiling at his profile and past photos that she somehow snuck into her device

They both missed each other, deeply making a wound in one's heart

. . .

Aang stared at his reflection that reflected his figure in the puddle that seemed to get getting slashed on by the pouring furious rain

Aang sighed

' I didn't bring an umbrella ' he sighed as he thought those words out loud

Then a figure's footsteps echoed through Aang's ears that seemed to follow his spot

Aang glanced at the person in curiosity and saw the chocolate haired girl that had capturing ocean blue eyes

The girl somehow, feelings his presence, glanced at the grey-eyed boy that was lost in his assumptions

"oh sorry didn't see you there Katara" Aang tried deeply not to stutter and make a fool out of himself as they locked eye contact

"hello to you Aang" the girl replied

Their silence that followed the two returned and they both looked at the pouring rain, awaiting one's response, anything

Katara not thinking of any recommendations opened her umbrella

Aang noticed the familiar colour of the umbrella and somehow it touched his heart making him flutter a bit

"you still kept it" he murmured making the blued eye girl stare at his dashing looks

"O-oh o-of course!" the girl collected herself, tucking access hair behind her red ear, that colour seeming to spread to her features like wildfire

"I should return it sorry" Katara realised after a brief moment of silence as she realised the boy was unequipped

"no no no, no need, it's alright...but we can share it- To My Car Of C-Course!" the nervous weck fixed his words slightly so Katara got the idea he wasn't flirting, although she figured it was

"o-of course, as f-friends!" she fixed too, she didn't mean those words, she wanted it to be more than friends, meaning going back to stage 6

The two set out on an adventure after having to agreed to their plans and walked on the awkward silent walk, both just enjoying ones presence in silence

A sweat dropped on Aang's forehead, he was wondering if he should mention the kiss that unexpectedly ended and meant a lot to him and his feelings

Katara on the other hand wanted everything to be over, the tension was killing her internally

"anyway K-Katara about that kiss-"

"yeah, sorry about that, seriously" Katara interrupted immediately

"no need, all good" Aang rubbed his neck in awe

They had finally reached the car and Aang put his hand on the car handle which to Katara sighed

"but did you mean it" she said after a long pause, making the boy jerk his head to her

"the kiss..." she stopped for a moment

Aang softly smiled and nodded slowly and softly

"of course, but I know if your not ready it's okay" he told the standing girl

Katara's eyes widened at such sweet words, putting her back in the moment she fell in love

"y-yeah...friends...?" she asked holding her hand out

Aang smiled more widely and softly connected his hands with hers and shook it in alinement

After the hands parted the two smiled and parted directions

Aang sat in the car and ruffled his hair with his hands, thinking of a reaction, any reaction

Aang chuckled

They were back to stage 1...friends again, but just how long can they keep it in?
