"So you we shifted here ten years ago..." Sanmishta said showing Manik and Avni around the house

"Mrs Sanmishta... Don't feel offended but you have such a well to do family then why did you applied for the charity for your daut... I don't mean any harm but this charity can easily would be given to some needy... Your family is well to do..." Manik tried to sound not rude to his best. He hated such people. Sanmishta smiled at him and then turned to Avni

"That's Rishu's home studio... Will you like to take a look?" she asked Avni and Avni nodded excited. Sanmishta opened the door and let Avni in and then turned to Manik

"I can understand Mr Malhotra but the riches you are seeing are not my husband's or mine. My husband's father is rich and his uncle's are rich. Yes this is our house but it is owned by Vishnu Uncle, he built it but wanted his whole family to move in her with him. So we stay here. As to my husband, he no longer wants to be associated to his father, my father in law who owns Bhojan, it's a small hotel chain in Banglore. He also doesn't want to claim Vishnu uncle's property because he thinks he has no claim on it and because there is a history to it. My husband is being working under Vishnu uncle since he was a teenage. He likes his work so he pursued it for life, but he is just a worker there, a mere employee who earns fifty thousand every month with his sales commission. We have three kids to bring up. I use to work as a teacher in a school but when Gayu... Our daughter was diagnosed with the heart condition one of us had to give up job. Raghav earned more so I stepped out. Yes my father in law is a rich man but my husband is a very honest, hardworking guy with a high self esteem who earns for us but we couldn't manage Gayu's whole treatment cost so we applied for the donations" Sanmishta told him

"But you have such a big family... They are rich too... Why didn't they help you?" Manik asked curious

"Vishnu Appa did  volunteer for paying Gayu's treatment but I and Raghav didn't want it... The reason behind is very personal... Sorry I won't like to share it" Sanmishta tol Manik

"And your father in law?" Manik asked her and Sanmishta's eyes teared up. Manik noticed it too but then he saw the lady hold back her tears and turn to Manik with a beautiful smile

"You have a daughter Mr Malhotra, so you know what a honour it is to have one" she asked him and Manik smiled widely thinking about Avni

"Not everyone has that kind of thinking" that's what Sanmishta said and before Manik could ask anything further Avni came back making him stop. But he was curious... Very curious... This family had it's own history and that's what made him curious to know how this different people of different attitude were still living together

Till they waited for the dinner to be ready Manik sat with the men of the house and they chit chatted about politics, economy, business opportunities in Banglore. Manik didn't like Prakashan, Vishnu's elder brother a bit. No doubt he was an intelligent man but very regressive. He was now being extra sweet knowing he was The Manik Malhotra but he had made subtle remarks about how Manik must be feeling sad that he has a daughter and there was no hire for his business.

"So your wife is a doctor?" Prakashan asked him. It take every ounce of Manik's cell to not snap at him to listening to the demeaning tone the question had

"Yes" Manik instead answered giving a tight lip smile

"Her parents must have spent to much on her studies... What a waste!" he said gulping down his whiskey

"Excuse me!" Manik lost his temper

"Ek toh it's not her parents but me... I begged my wife to continue her studies and funded it with my hard earned money" Manik told the. He didn't like even the mention of his inlaws. He absolutely hated them for what they did to his wife
