2 hours later

After some talking back and forth about what to have for dinner.

We decided to do a BBQ

Fun I guess.

I was bored in the house not doing really anything so I went outside to the garden area to finish reading The Song Of Achilles.

I am at the part when they just left to go to war.

I know very little about that time, I mean I know the basics of the Gods and Goddess just not all of it. But ill tell you, you don't need to know much about it because the author fills you in.

I open the book and dive in.

Ashers Pov:

I didn't see Lilibet in the bedroom so I went to take a shower.

I guess I could also take a shower somewhere else but I think it's fine.

The practice was just like it always is.

We did work more on batting since we heard these teams will be a challenge

One I'm ready for ill tell you that.

After I get out of the shower I poke my head out to see if anyone was in the bedroom

no one was so I walked out with a towel on my waist and got dressed.

Since we're not eating out and just doing a small BBQ I put on grey sweat pants a black top and put my baseball sweatshirt on.

I make my way downstairs and see everyone except my brother and Lilibet.

I assumed Ben was asleep, it was already 6:30 so that would make sense.

"Asher could you set the table outside for me honey."

"Sure thing Mom." I took the plates out of her hand and made my way outside to find the table.

The backyard was a decent size. It would be even bigger if it didn't have a garden.

After a couple of turns, I found the table and started to make it.

Once I'm finished I looked around I heard something that sounded like a sniffle.

To my surprise I see Lilibet make her way out of the garden area.

Her face had a slight shade of red and her eyes were glossy, it also looked like a tear was coming down her cheek.

"Hey, are you okay?"

"Oh haha um yeah I'm fine." She wiped her face and sounded like she was caught off guard.

On her left arm, she was holding a book.

Maybe something just happened in the book?

Lilibet gave a soft smile and walked in the direction of the house.

After some time everyone was outside dishing up.

Lilibet was now in jeans and a Navy Nike crewneck, her hair also up with a claw clip.

She looked better than when I saw her before

Wait that sounded bad I mean it looked like she was in a better mood?

She wasn't crying is what I'm trying to say.

I wasn't paying much attention to the conversation at this point.

But it was something to do with the sunset and how pretty it was.
...
We all finished dinner and pulled out some games to play outside.

First, we played clue.

I for sure thought I was going to win since I always do but Lilibet won.

Next, we played spinners, and guess who won that?

Lilibet, I was in second place though.

"Alright guys I'm going to head to bed see y'all later," Mr. Young said as he cleaned his area up.

We all said goodnight and played another round of clues because Clayton thought he could win.

He was wrong

Lilibet won.

She's on a winning streak

Clayton then headed up to bed.

All who are left are Mrs.Young, Lilibet, my mom, and me.

The moms are drinking their red wine while talking about something while I shuffle the deck of cards for skippo.

I gotta win this one.

We have been now playing for 30 minutes

I'm almost done with my deck and looks like I'm gonna win!

But guess what?

Lilibet gets lucky and takes the lead.

At this point it's just her and me playing.

The moms are way off to win.

After I take my turn I have one card left all I have to do is wait for her to go.

She picks up her cards and looks at me dead in the eye and smiles.

She got lucky and won.

"Lilibet for the win! Girl your on a roll" mom said

"Haha yeah guess it was my lucky day." She says smiling.

She starts to clean up the cards when I stop her.

"Losers clean up the mess." I take the cards out of her hand.

She has a tint of pink on her cheeks.

"Thanks"

It's 10:30 when we all decide it's best to go to bed.

We have a game at 1 and then another at 5.

We all say goodnight and head out separate ways.

That's until I realize that Lilibet and I never figured out what to do about the room.

"I can just sleep in the living room."

"It's okay Asher the bed is plenty big enough."

"Ok, you sure?"

"Positive come on."
...
"Can I ask you a question?" I ask Lilibet once we make it to the bedroom.

"Uh sure I guess"

"Why were you crying earlier? And if it's too personal you don't have to answer it"

"Um, it was because of the book I was reading. You probably think it's stupid."

"No, not at all what book?"

"The Song Of Achilles."

"I've never hear of that book, Is it good."

"Yeah it's really good all about Achilles and Patroclus some parts just really get you. Do you read often?"

"Yeah sometimes tell me more about the book."

We then talk forever about the book and eventually go to sleep...

A/N honestly didn't love this chapter but got to get somewhere with them. I going to start posting more regularly once I get back in town. I'll let you know my normal posting days then
