Hades

Location: Vale quarantine entrance 01

Time: 0930 local time, 2 hours, 30 minutes before Operation Hades

Helicopters and transport trucks were arriving in the droves at the wall surrounding the former city. Soldiers were setting up mines and other static defenses like barbed wire around the wall itself. After this was completed most of the soldiers climbed onto whatever transport they were assigned and evacuated.

Flashback:

Time: 0600 local time, 6 hours before Operation Hades

Loudspeakers: All NO and NATO forces, we are unable to fulfill the garrisons so we will be beginning Operation Hades. Prepare for evacuation, pack any personal belongings and prepare defenses that do not require personnel. You have 3 hours until evac.

Upon hearing this order many soldiers were understandably confused, since when did a military superpower abandon the one objective they currently have? Despite this they followed the orders they were given and began to pack up their equipment save for some MGs mounted on watch towers that would remain until the bases were abandoned.

Location: NO military firebase, outside Vale.

General Sherman: I want this to be clear, until Hades is completed we will be monitoring ever movement of individuals inside the city, not one living or dead thing leaves those walls without me giving an OK. We cannot have the SA virus escaping Vale while we are low on manpower.

Radioman: Copy that sir, All units be advised, report anything unusual you spot, failure is not an option at this time. You have 5 hours and 30 minutes remaining.

Time skip:

Time: 1145 local time

Combat Dispatcher: Pharaoh 1-1 has taken off, 15 minutes to target.

Radioman: We have reports of civies attempting to exit Vale, what are your orders sir?

General Sherman: We cannot risk a breach, the city is quarantined, open fire on them.

Radioman: Yes sir, 5-21, open fire.

Location: Vale quarantine wall, segment 213

Radio: 5-21, open fire.

Soldier: Copy, opening fire.

The soldiers on the wall opened fire into a group of survivors inside the walls. After a few shots 3 off them were dead and 2 were injured.

Soldier: Most targets down, 2 still alive, we will finish this then get to our LAV.

Radio: Negative 5-21, seek immediate shelter using the rocket defense building. Shield your eyes. HAVOC class hydrogen bomb has been dropped.

Soldier: Run for the shelter!

9 soldiers were running for cover in a basic shelter that was built as a precaution before a flash from behind the wall occurred and the sky turned red. The soldiers kept running before ducking into the shelter. It started to get hotter before the sound and shockwave of the bomb going off hit. Trees and barbed wire bent and a watchtower collapsed but the bunker did not fail luckily.

The soldiers put on their gas masks and  waited before running out of the shelter to see a massive mushroom cloud rising above them. They got into the NOLAV and drove towards the nearest base. While they were driving another flash was seen and another, much smaller nuclear bomb was detonated. While driving about 6 more of these smaller nuclear bombs went off vaporizing the remains of Vale and Beacon.

Now these smaller nuclear bombs are not small. The HAVOC class is a 20 megaton bomb, the "small" nuclear bombs detonated were 6 megatons. So any trace of the SA virus is gone along with the unfortunate people who were not infected but didn't make it to the final helicopters months prior to Hades.

 Breaking News: Explosions in Vale?

Reporter: Hello I am Lilac Vasquez with the Patch island news reporting live from a New Orderian military checkpoint Southwest of Vale. As you can see behind me 8 mushroom shaped clouds rising above the treeline, reportedly a New Orderian official will be explaining what has occurred in Vale.

At this exact moment a convoy escorted by New Orderian Highway Patrol cars arrived at the checkpoint and a very important looking person stepped out. Another person who looked important walked out from a command tent near the checkpoint

Marshal Ventuas: I am Marshal Ventuas, acting leader of New Orderia, this is General Sherman. Today 8 nuclear weapons were used on the city of Vale in order to withdraw as many NO forces as possible for other tasks. General if you will continue.

General Sherman: At 1200 we deployed 8 nuclear weapons, 1 HAVOC class, 20 megaton bomb, and 7 REINEER class 6 megaton bombs. This was a part of Operation Hades which was carried out successfully. The goal of the operation was to wipe out the SA virus on Remnant and to require little to no forces needed to enforce the quarantine for the city. You will still not be permitted to enter Vale due to the radiation. It will not be cleaned as it poses no immediate threat. Radiation levels will be monitored constantly to make sure of no health risks. If you live within 30 miles of Vale we advise you to continually check for radiation and fallout from the detonation. Reporter: Do you intend on allowing people to reenter Vale at any time in the near future and will there be an effort to reopen Beacon academy any time soon?

Marshal Ventuas: At this time there is no remains of Vale or Beacon academy, there will be no rebuilding in the area at any time within the next few thousands of years without thorough decontamination that we simply will not be wasting lives and manpower on. Decontamination often leads to death from cancer and radiation sickness, we have already lost thousands to another nuclear related incident in our own city so we will not be attempting to clean this region. We will be keeping roads into the region closed to the public.
