Newt pulls me closer to him as we both watch the island quickly approaching, wrapping his arms around my shoulders and kissing the top of my head. I crane my head to look up at him, grinning, and stand on my toes to plant a kiss on his lips.

"We're almost the-ere," I say in a singsong voice. Newt giggles, putting his chin on top of my head.

"Yes we a-are," Newt murmurs quietly, planting several more kisses on top of my head.

Brenda and Fry hug to our right, Gally and Minho pointing out things on the island to each other. No one can wipe the happy smiles off their faces, and a hum of excitement buzzes all around us as people begin to chatter louder in anticipation.

"All right, everyone!"

We all turn to see Vince weaving through the crowd of people towards the front of the ship, holding a megaphone in his hands. A large grin is plastered on his face, his cheeks glowing pink with a rush of excitement, and possibly nerves. "Before we leave this ship there's a few things I need to say to you all. Firstly; a fair few of you may have heard some rumours about a certain Cure, and, I can safely say–" he looks over to Newt, raising his eyebrows and tilting his head, Newt nodding in response, "–that we have developed a Cure, and it has successfully worked!"

Everyone cheers, clapping and whooping. Vince claps, nodding, waiting until everyone has simmered down to continue. "And, onto my next point – we have limited information of how the Flare has developed in recent weeks, however we do have insight that the virus may have gone airborne. And while this may be alarming information, at least now we do have a Cure, so we can use it if we ever need to and continue to develop our knowledge of the Flare and how to live alongside it, without fearing it anymore.

"Now, onto my last point: when we arrive on the island, it's all hands on deck. We need everyone responsible for setting up a safe, liveable environment, which means everyone needs to put in 100% effort to get this set up as quickly as possible. We'll initially need builders, cooks, a medical team, hunters or foragers, and mappers; we need to know what kind of land we're living on." Everyone nods fairly, some turning to each other and excitedly asking what they want to do. Vince continues. "So, when we get on this island, we'll organise ourselves on the beach and from that point on, we'll need no slacking, people. Now, go and get everything ready to leave. Ship's docking in thirty minutes!"

Newt turns to me, raising his eyebrows. "So, what you gonna do? I kinda like the sound of foraging or mapping..."

I beam. "I was thinking, mapping sounds fun... exploring the island, learning about our new environment... do you wanna do that together?"

He nods, kissing me. Minho fake-vomits, causing laughter to erupt amongst the group as Newt and I blush.

"Don't make us throw you guys overboard," Brenda warns, shaking her head with a smirk.

"Yeah, Vince said no slackers, and slacking includes eating each other's faces off," Gally pipes up, causing laughter to ripple across the group. Our friends continue to hurl abuse at us while Newt and I defend ourselves in hysterics, our faces going tomato-red the whole time. The whole time, we didn't even realise we were the last ones on the decking until Vince comes up to the group, putting his hands on mine and Brenda's shoulders.

"What's so funny, guys? Must be hilarious if it's keeping you from packing up your shit in order to get off this ship," Vince says bluntly, yet he has a humorous sparkle in his eyes.

"N-Nothing, Vince," I laugh in embarrassment, my face gradually growing less pink. "We were just about to head."

"Oh, who'll be transporting Thomas off the ship? He'll need to be set up now."
