A mess of light brown curls peaks on top of the crowd of students wildly pushing each other out of the way to be out of this hell hole of a school finally.

Not risking my chances for another time, I leap in that direction.

All kinds of pinpricks go off in my legs that feel like bubbles are boiling inside them because of all the walking I did in the morning the entire way to school. Having GPS in my cellphone seemed cool at once but then after walking for twenty mintues, still ten minutes to go, it felt like a curse that I had dumped on my head.

Not to mention all kinds of prayers that arose in my heart for him. Now only God's mercy can save him from frying inside the hell the way I did this morning.

Not thinking about test which I gave through half numb mind for walking under the harsh glare of sunlight and vibrating legs, all I wanna make sure right now is that I don't walk back home on foot.

Ever.

I yelp as my knees give up under me, making my palms fall flat against the ground, breaking out of my laser focus on one guy only.

He still doesn't stop and walks even further away.

Flaring my nostrils, i look up to see who bumped into me.

"Shoot, didn't see you there." An overly white skinned guy I'm assuming British, clucks his tongue seeming to have stopped the rolling hoard of students from behind him.

Unable to get through, they shift their gears and walk past him, having found a new direction altogether. Throwing hasty glances at me sprawled down on the ground.

Ya Allah!

Not right on my first day!

Heat creeps up my cheeks and I fumble on my foot, regaining balance.

I turn around to find Hayden's retreating back, strolling down the hallway. Unperturbed. Unbothered by the swarm around him.

"Hey, are you his new stalker?" My attention snaps back at the annoying guy behind me.

He's somehow still towering over me.

His big round eyes narrowed in on me as he scratches his red stubble thoughtfully.

I scrunch up my nose knowing exactly who he's referring to. Eyeing him as if he's insane.

"No."

His ears turn red in a flash and I'm suddenly hit by the familiarity of embarrassment I felt just moments ago.

With this look, his towering muscular body looks like that of a one big puppy.

My heart softens a little.

Referring to previous bump, I hold my palm out."look, it's fine-"

"-Well, all I ask is that, why him?" He goes off ignoring my attempts, genuinely bothered," why every new girl starts fawning over him. I-I mean they should look around. Plenty of fish in the sea, right!." He swats his hand around, and before it points to him, he hesitantly let it fall down by his side.

Yeah right.

"I'm in kid of a hurry." I clutch the strap of my backpack, shifting uncomfortably.

Hayden's getting away!

"Oh right," he flashes a sheepish grin, scratching his head. As I'm about to turn, a flash suddenly goes off in his eyes," oh and I'm Alex!"

My gaze lingers on his outstretched hand.

"Uh, Rosie." I smile extra hard not breaking eye contact," I actually don't shake hands."
