Hey Babe ~
This is a brief announcement/update before we get into the next chapter. I wanted to let you know that I've been struggling with writers block but I'm trying my best to break it. The last couple chapters have been products of me trying to write with writers block and I apologize for putting out pieces that I'm not completely happy with. I appreciate your support on these chapters though but I promise going forward I won't be posting a new chapter unless I'm happy with it. This may make updates take longer but they'll be pieces worth waiting for I promise!

Sitting with your legs crossed you gently placed the egg in your lap. It had been a few days since you received it and in the time you had become attached to it. Picking up a small scrap of fabric you dusted off the egg checking it for cracks as you hummed happily. "You're treating it like it's a child" Sukuna stood leaning against the doorway watching you continue to polish the egg. "I'm just doing what you told me to" you continued to hum gently tracing circles onto the egg your eyes never leaving it to look at Sukuna.

"I told you to keep it on you.., not hum it lullabies" his tone was annoyed as he made his way to you sitting down next to you. "Has it showed any sign of hatching yet anyway?" Looking up to the ceiling your free hand came up to your chin cupping it lightly while you thought back on the week "it shook a little yesterday, I thought it was an earth quake at first till I realized nothing else was shaking". Laying back on your bed Sukuna brought two of his arms behind his head bracing it as his other hands crossed his chest "that's progress is guess".

"You seem annoyed" you spoke out not thinking before catching yourself and turning away from him. "I am annoyed" you were braced to be hit or shoved around but nothing came. Turning back he was still laying in his same position his eyes closed as he took in deep breathes. "As long as you have that egg I can't touch you, it's been a week and I'm getting impatient" he tried to speak calmly but you could tell he wanted to drop his voice into a low growl. "How come?" You wrapped your arms around the egg holding it gently against you. "It's feeding off your cursed energy, that's what causes it to hatch. I thought it would hatch quicker with the amount of energy you put off, but clearly I was wrong about that. If I touch you I disrupt your energy flow and it's feeding line".

"Cursed spirits are complicated" you leaned back laying in bed next to him bringing the egg up to rest on your stomach with your hands on top of it. "We're pretty simple compared to humans" Sukuna let out a heavy sigh as he adjusted himself in bed getting comfy. You followed his lead adjusting to lay on your side away from him cradling the egg in your arms. Things were silent the room filled only with the sounds of your breathing causing you to grow tired. The growing silence washed over you making you tired, before you knew it you had fallen asleep feeling.

"Minx get up, minx" you heard Sukuna calling to you shaking you awake. "Huh? What's wrong?" You sat up still groggy looking down to the egg to make sure it was ok. You were treated with a sight that shook you to your core, the egg was in pieces scattered in your bed. "No no no, how did I break it?!" You began panicking scooping all of the pieces together. "You dumbass you didn't break it.. it hatched" Sukuna pulled you back his hand going to your chin he moved you to look at a dark figure standing in the corner of your room. "Theirs no way that was in the egg... it's huge" your breathe hitched as it moved closer to you coming into the dim light from the window you were finally able to see it clearly.

"A bear..?" You were shocked even more seeing it. Laying its head on your bed it eyed you as you stared back. It's fur was bluish grey in color with a 'V' shaped mark on its forehead. It's eyes were dark black and almost seemed soulless. "Touch it" Sukuna pushed you forward making you panic but the bear didn't react still laying it's head on your bed. You slowly extended your hand reaching forward carefully until your fingers brushed its soft fur. You out your hand fully on its forehead and started to pet it gently earning a low rumble.

"Name it" Sukuna sat in your bed as he watched emotionlessly. "I don't know if it's a boy or girl.." you tilted in bed trying to look at the body of your new shikigami for any clues. "They don't have genders, name it whatever you want" Sukuna seemed agitated now as he laid back down in bed closing his eyes. You continued to pet its head trying to pick a name for your new companion, finally a name came to you that seemed appropriate. "Go to sleep, Cinder" a smile spread on your face as you crawled back up next to Sukuna laying back down. You watched as Cinder came to your side of the bed laying down. Your hand hung off the side of the bed as you pet its soft fur. "You get a pass tonight, but tomorrow you're mine" Sukuna's voice was low as you felt his arms wrap around you, his body pressed flush with yours.
