Sitting up quickly you were breathing erratically as you tried to figure out what had happened. As you looked around and it was clear you were back in your room which was dimly lit by the moonlight. Frantically you pulled your shirt off and began searching for the wounds that coated your chest only to find you didn't have even a single mark on you. "What's wrong?" startled by the groggy voice you flinched away from it nearly falling off the edge of the bed. "What the hell is wrong with you?" A large hand grabbed ahold of your wrist and pulled you away from the edge. Sukuna looked just as tired as he sounded. Rubbing his eye as he stared at you, you could easily see the fatigue that was eating him alive. "Nothing.. just a bad dream I guess. Sorry.." he clearly didn't believe you but he was exhausted and didn't care to ask more. Letting go of your wrist he laid back down and pulled the comforter back over him.
It wasn't much later that he fell asleep leaving you to your thoughts as you sat still beside him. Was it really a dream? Was all that played in your head as you tried to make any rational sense over what had transpired. Carefully feeling around the bed you found your shirt hanging off the edge and slipped it back on before slowly getting out of bed and tip-toeing your way across the room. You looked back to make sure Sukuna didn't wake up before slipping out of the doorway and into the equally dim hallway. As you pulled the door shut you made sure that the door latched quietly before letting out a stressed sigh. What the hell is my life anymore.. stretching your arms above your head you took in a deep breath still trying to find anything rational left in your mind. Groaning you headed down the hall making your way to the kitchen. As you turned the corner a soft glow peeking out from the kitchen caught your attention along with quiet clinging of pans. Leaning around the doorframe you looked into the kitchen finding Lycoris cooking. "You don't need to sneak around, are you hungry?" Her voice was soft and soothing as always. "What are you making?" You walked up to the stove beside her.
"It's an old recipe, Deruni" she practically hummed out while flipping the deruni over. "They smell delicious, I'll grab a couple of plates" heading to the cabinet you retrieved a couple of plates and forks and bringing them back to the counter beside the stove. "Can I help at all?" Lycoris thought for a second before pointing to the pantry "I think theirs some green onions, you can dice those up for me". Nodding you made your way to the pantry and searched for the green onions. You were beginning to lose hope when you finally found them hiding in the back corner. Pulling them out you selected the best looking stalks before heading to the sink to clean them. Lycoris was humming as she continued cooking away. Even though she looked so young it was moments like this you could tell she was an old spirit. While chopping the onions you couldn't help but think of the old women who raised you. Tears pricked your eyes as the memories rolled through your mind like a movie.
"She was a stubborn, insensitive, and selfish women.. but she was my family" you choked out with a smile on your face. Lycoris plated the Deruni's and turned around to face you "that old women you've talked about?" Nodding your head you picked up a pinch of the chopped green onions and sprinkled them over your plates. "You don't talk about her much.. would you mind sharing more about her?" Lycoris handed you your fork as she picked up her own. "She taught me how to live off the land, how to be independent from anyone else. She also taught me how to use cursed energy, and helped me uncover my abilities. At times I think it was to keep her safe more than it was to help me. She had been betrayed by others.. a long time ago before I met her, that's why she chose to live alone.. far away from anyone who could hurt her" taking a bite of the Deruni you practically melted into the table "I didn't realize how much I missed her though. She was the only one I knew until I was brought here". "What about now?" Lycoris took a massive bite. "You know, I never realized how much I was yearning for a family.. how much I wanted a life that wasn't by myself.. it's sad that it took this to make me realize it.. but my yearning is slowly coming to an end. Cause now oddly enough.. I've found my family".
