The sound of talking filled the temple as you finished pulling on the robe Sukuna had demanded you wear. The fabric was thick and heavy as you wrapped it around your body, the small hand stitched details shining slightly in the early morning light coming through the window. You hadn't slept at all that night as everything still felt blurred and amiss and it showed on your face. "What's taking you so long?" His voice was low as he stood in the doorway watching you while you finished tying the last cincture around your waste. "I'm sorry.." "You look horrible" he cut you off as he moved in front of you, making you flinch as he grabbed your chin.

Your eyes quickly shot away looking anywhere but at him as he lifted your chin upwards to look at your face more clearly. His hand cupped the side of your face as you felt his thumb run across the bags underneath your eye, pressing gently on your puffy skin. "Did you not sleep at all?" He pressed harder on your soft skin making you clench your eyes shut "I didn't". His other hand traced down to the marks still swollen and sore on your neck, his fingers traced along the sides of the open wounds before he pinched the side of your neck and pulled outwards stretching the skin so he could have a better look. "Why are these still here anyway?" He seemed annoyed as he tilted your head to the side letting him have a better look.

"I didn't have any way to heal them" you spoke soft and calmly even though you wanted to cry and scream from the pain he was causing you. You were scared, last night he seemed to trigger so quickly and become enraged, you didn't want to accidentally set him off once again. Instead it was easier to swallow your cries and hold back tears as he prodded your wounds. Your fear nearly swallowed you whole when his hand landed on your side making you jerk back from him slightly until he grabbed your arm roughly pulling you back to him. "What's wrong with you" frustration in his voice cut through the tense air making your heart skip a beat and your eyes grow wide.

"I'm sorry" tears practically filled your voice as you closed your eyes once again, clenching them shut as you tried to hold yourself together. Without a sound you felt the cold air of the temple rush across your skin. As you opened your eyes you looked down to see your robe was wide open, the cinctures hanging freely to your sides. His hands traced over your skin making a sharp quiet squeal leave your lips. As his fingers traced along the dark bruises wrapping across your body you heard a heavy sigh leave him. Abruptly his hands all pulled from you leaving you stand their alone once again. "Get dressed and come on, our guests are waiting" his words were cold and lifeless as you listened to his footsteps grow softer as he left the room.

Your breath finally unhitched letting you catch the air you didn't realize you had lost. Your hands shook uncontrollably as you tried to readjust the robe before tying it shut once again letting your body heat up under the heavy fabric. The tears you had fought so hard to hold back unfortunately won now streaming down your cheeks you begged in your head to make them stop. Wiping them off gently with your sleeve you tried your best to calm down before leaving your room and making your way to the front room where everyone had gathered.

As you stepped out from the hall your head went down as your eyes met the floor. The once loud room fell to a deathly silence making you extremely uneasy as you made your way to Sukuna who was seated on his torn pillows. Dropping down you seated yourself atop your knees and tucked your hands into your lap. His eyes were burning into the back of your head as he watched you, you were almost certain he was waiting for you to make any mistakes. "Why is she still alive?" A gruff voice rang out from the crowd who clearly all had the same question. "That's none of your concern" Sukuna's voice returned the same gruffness but was laced with anger nearly making you flinch.

"Unfortunately lord Sukuna it is our concern" a taller man emerged from the crowd making his way to the front before he bowed down on a knee. "The contest is a sacred event, one you've said yourself that takes precedence over all. Yet both offerings still remain alive now months after they were given to you. This is not something that has ever happened before, so please forgive us but we're growing concerned". The strangers voice sounded like that of an older, although his words should have worried you instead it brought you some comfort reminding you somewhat of the older women who raised you.

"You're forgetting your place Cione. This event is my creation and I can do with it what I please" Sukuna's voice was low but almost respectful in a sense as he replied to the man. "Forgive me but if the masses were to find out they will riot in anger. The already thin line of structure will collapse and true chaos will return" the taller man stood up making his way to you, his eyes burned into your head just as much as Sukuna's did as he stood over you "If we want to keep what little organization we have then the offerings must both die and your decision needs to be made". An amused hum left Sukuna making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, "I will kill the cursed sacrifice first, I plan to leave tomorrow to do so. In the meantime I can no longer trust to leave this one alone, so Cione. You'll be staying here and watching over her while I'm gone".

The room became intense with his words and what little ease quickly vanished when Sukuna stood up and approached the taller man "you're not going against me, are you Cione?"  A deep breath broke the silence as the man bowed down once again, now directly in front of you "I will do as you ask". "Everyone else get out" the anger was wrapped back in Sukuna's voice as he waved for the remainder of the crowd to exit. Slowly the room emptied until the three of you were left, the taller man and you never moved remaining in front of one another while Sukuna returned to his pillows "Cione you have no right to kill her while I'm away".
