"Kaa-san" it was only after the words left my mouth that I realised what I had done. Instant panic took over me.
" Did she heard me? Will she remember everything now? Am I exposed so soon?"
My panicked monologue stopped at her next words,
"You said something? I didn't heard you clearly"

"Thank God"
"No, I said nothing miss..."it took every ounce of my being to act like any stranger would.

"Uzumaki, Hinata Uzumaki. And you are..?"
"Bolt"
"Ah, its nice to meet you Bolt-kun. Are you new around here?"
"Well I'm just a visitor of sorts"
She gave me a confused look.
"Well I'm basically the bodyguard of a person who is staying here for a month or so"
"I see" she gave her world famous sweet smile.
"Well I must get going. It was a pleasure meeting you Uzumaki-san" the last word sounded really weird coming out of my mouth.
"The pleasure was all mine, see you around" saying that she turned around and continued with her shopping. Without knowing why, my lips curled up into a small smile. It felt nice dattebasa, to be able to talk to her without her giving me looks of disappointment. But there was something missing and I knew what it was, the smiles given to me now were those she gave to strangers out of her kindness, but there was another smile she had which was only reserved for the people dear to her. Shaking my head to get rid of these thoughts I continued with my shopping.

While walking out of the store I could feel eyes on me but I shrugged it off. Must be some curious person wondering why I'm hiding my face.

Hinata POV
I watched as the young man, Bolt walked out the store. There was something about him that was very familiar other than his chakra. I was at home when I sensed this huge reservoir of chakra, no familiar chakra. Bumping into him I could tell that he was the source of it. But that was not what bothered me, when I talked to him, even though our words were formal I felt a strange sense of familial connection between us. Why? I don't know. For an instance the thought of my lost child crossed my mind and I couldn't stop my eyes from moistening. Whenever that incident crossed my mind I felt like a horrible mother, which I probably was forgetting her own child. There's no way such a woman comes under the category of a good mother. Not wanting to cry again I decided to continue with my day not before, mentally praying to kami-sama to return my child to me.

Timeskip
Boruto POV
Dinner came and went by uneventfully with the ladies gossiping. After dinner I went straight to my room's bathroom and started applying the red dye. When I was done I couldn't help but stare at myself for a good 3 minutes. I looked completely different, although the red colour was too loud for my liking but it suited me somehow and my blue eyes complemented it nicely. It was like a combination of fire and ice. Lastly applying the concealer my disguise was complete, cleaning everything in the bathroom I went outside for some fresh air.
Walking around the village I couldn't help but remember all the nice memories I had here. Nothing seemed to have changed in these past few years. As I was walking past the training grounds I felt the ground under me shake violently. Curious I went towards the training grounds only to wish that I hadn't. In the training grounds there stood the person whom my brain loathed but heart longed for.
She has changed was my only thought.
Her hair had grown till her hip and were tied in a loose braid. She wore a red dress with slits at their sides and purple shorts and lastly a pair of heels not the usual shinobi sandals. She was practicing in taijutsu and chakra powered attacks causing the ground to rumble. She had a slender but not skinny frame. As much as my heart was screaming at me to stay I listened to my mind , turned around and walked away just like I did before. Her back was facing me so she probably didn't notice me. My eyes turned moist so I blinked and looked up as I had promised myself that I won't cry over her ever again. Just before I turned the corner I took one last look at her, there she stood training. My love, and my heartbreaker,

Uchiha Sarada.
