I waited in the sitting area when my dad walked up to the table.

He wasn't in his woman form and I was shocked.

"Dahlia." "Daddy." I hugged him.

"I missed you baby girl." "I missed you more daddy. I didn't mean those things I said. I was hurting. Im so sorry."

"It's okay baby. I forgave you before you even left the building." He said.

We sat down.

"Are you going to put your makeup and stuff back on?" "That's not why I don't have it on."

"Why not?" I asked.

He sighed.

"They refusing to give me my meds and it's hard getting the items I need now."

"That's illegal."

"They sending me to a men's facility."

"They can't do that. You have the full sex change." "I'm a black trans man. They don't care about me or my sexuality. I still love women but the moment I pop that wig and makeup on. I'm no longer a man."

"Daddy we can sue them or some for this.

You don't deserve this." I started to cry.

He grabbed my hand. "You worked so hard to become the woman that you are daddy." I said.

"I did wrong in life baby.

Karma caught up to me and I can only accept it."

"Do you know what men would do to you in prison? Especially if the find out your parts don't match their parts?" He sighed.

"Imma be okay Dahlia."

"Well I'm not."

"I love you baby girl." "I love you too mommy." I said making him smile.

"Now I know you didn't come all the way over here to hear about me wassup Princess." "Long day." "What happened?"

I told him everything.

"That's what men do baby. He couldn't touch you so he got mad and lashed out.

The things he said wasn't true.

We all know that.

But he doesn't get to have that much power over you. Yeah the whole school gone crack jokes but you walk in with yo head high.

Yo dignity is still there Dahlia.

Never let somebody get so much power over you." I nodded. "And as far as Nova go. Talk to him."

"He lays in bed next to me every night like he don't be laid up fucking my mama." He sighed. "You liked him?" "No."

"Be honest."

"I didn't like Nova in that way but he was all I had.

He helped me get back on track at school, he helps provide for mason and grandma, he's like my best friend." "But does he know that?"

"No. We argue a lot too."

"Because y'all are in denial. Y'all need each other more than y'all think. Ask him baby girl. Ask him how has his life change since you came around."

"It's no point. I told him I never wanted to see him again." "If I know this boy Nova like I barely do he's probably sitting at home waiting on you already." "He's not that type of guy."

"You'll be surprised what a guy would do for a girl."

I sighed.

"I guess you right."
