during all this time with terrano teaching me suddenly I got a call...from Mary. i looked at terrano somehow asking for permission and I picked up the call
"h-hello?"
"oh hey y/n how are you doing?" she asked enthusiastically
"I'm fine" I replied
"well would you like to join Yumeko, Ryota san, and me for lunch tomorrow?" she asked
I looked at crystal and Terrano this time. crystal was mouthing a "no" but Terrano covered her mouth and nodded signaling a yes
"a-ah sure I will come" I responded and hung up
"why'd you say yes?" crystal asked Terrano
"she shouldn't be suspicious" Terrano replied
"I'm hungry let's go to Starbucks pleaseeeeeee" I pleaded
they chuckled and then finally agreed to go
"guys wait a second I'll order your drinks," crystal said and got out of the car
"hey...when you said that everyone has that one bad moment which changes and scars them...so like what's crystal's bad moment?" I hesitantly asked
"aah well this happened a few years ago" terrano sighed and started the story
flashback of a few years ago
crystal and kirari were really great friends and always cheerful but suddenly kirari went all quiet and went out of her way to ignore crystal. crystal spotted kirari eating her chicken popcorns alone on the rooftop so she decided to talk to her
"hey kira, you okay?" crystal asked
"I'm fine" kirari replied and walked away
crystal tried countless times to talk to kirari but always failed to do so
"kirari momobami you need to tell me whats wrong" this time crystal was beyond furious because her best friend wasn't talking to her for entire 3 weeks
"my problem is YOU, doesn't matter how much efforts i put into my work I'm alway overshadowed by you. people only talk to me to get closer to YOU. I'm always known as crystal's best friend and not for who i really am. so i thought that if i go out of my way to ignore you, then the tag of "crystal's best friend" will wash over my name and i wont have any fake friends either" kirari furiously states
"b-but its not...my fault" crystal said trying to fight her tears
"so is it mine?" kirari shouts at crystal which makes her flinch and she broke down crying
a week later kirari pov
I will show people who I really am just wait and watch crystal if I don't take revenge on you feel free to change my name
the next day I applied to hayakkou academy
"morning kirari san, i am akina the student council president" the akina girl smirked
"morning akina san, care to join me in a match of poker?" i asked politely
"thats- a weird and an unusual question but why not? lets play" akina smiled
"it would be even better if we made a bet" i smirked
"well then lets go" she copied my smirk
"if i win...im going to be the new student council president" i stated
"w-what?" she asked in surprise
"kirari san...dont you think its extreme?" she asked
"whats in risk taking if the risk isnt big" i smirked
"very well then, if i win then you're gonna drive me to school everyday"
"what i thought you were gonna give me an extreme thing too" i said clearly being confused \
"they call me "miss unexpected" i guess i live upto that name" she whispered
"i'll be the first one to change that name" i whispered and OFCOURSE I WON

"so thats the salty story and the "past" of them both" she said while air quoting the "past"
"im back" crystal said and hopped in
"do not tell this to anyone" she whispered in my ears as i nodded
