Chapter 15

Author's POV

Three months later.

Jade is in a middle of a lunch date with some of her actress' friends when her phone rings. She takes her phone off the table to check who was calling. The contact name was "Beck" and Jade's lips instantly forms a smile upon reading it.

"Excuse me for a minute," She then answers the call.

"Hello," Jade spoke softly.

"Hey. How are you doing?"

"Just fine. I'm having dinner with my friends. I'm glad you called."

"Do you have plans for later? at night?"

"I don't."

"Great. I'm picking you up at six. Dinner's on me."

"Okay."

"Got to go now. Eat well."

"Love you-" Beck ended the call and cutting Jade off, leaving her confused. Her boyfriend didn't sound like the usual; he was more stern.

Is there something wrong? He didn't say "I love you" back.

It's apparent that after their long breakup, Jade became more questionable of things. She overthinks a lot, afraid that she would lose him again.

Soon, she figured that the latter was just in a rush. So, she shrugged the thought off and just resumed eating her meal.

They haven't seen each other since last week due to their tight schedules. But they always try to update each other through texts and calls, which they've learned from their past mistakes; communication, no matter what form, is one thing that binds a relationship stronger.

A car honks outside Jade's house while she's still getting ready. She receives a message from Beck, saying he's already arrived. Jade wore a black long sleeve fitted top paired with blue high-waisted jeans and combat boots. She puts on a silver chain necklace and grabs her purse quickly. The woman rushes outside, seeing Beck's black Maserati Levante Trofeo.

Jade approaches Beck's car and it honks once again, which startled her. Beck goes outside to open the door for her seemingly annoyed girlfriend. "Okay, that was so mean," she says as soon as she got in.

"What?" Beck smiles innocently.

"The surprise honk! That scared me."

"I'm sorry. I thought you weren't there yet. Hihi," Beck gives her a forehead kiss. Jade feels like there's something unusual but she doesn't know why.

Beck turns on the stereo upon driving. His hand is on the steering wheel while the other one is holding Jade's. They both bop their heads to the songs' rhythm.
