The sun had set a long time ago. A low yawn parted with my lips as I stared blankly at the red carpeted floor.

How sorrowful.

I secretly pulled out my phone and swiped the lockscreen open. The wallpaper was a black void, something that related a lot to me. Opening Kakaotalk, I frowned.

Useless

Next I opened Twitter, just when i was scrolling through the trends, someone nudged my foot. I looked at the person responsible, Lee Seung Gi, the main male lead of 'Scarlet Stars'.

'Scarlet Stars' was the adaptation of my mystery thriller of the same title. It ended up being a big deal in the entertainment industry since, me, the most troublesome writer chose to personally write the screenplay and sing the main ost. It had to be perfect, after all I had to make certain people envy it.

Lee Seung Gi smiled at me and I could bet it without thinking that he meant 'Please pay attention'. I flashed back a smile and stared at the stage while putting away my phone.

I was at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards 2021. My movie had been nominated for almost 6 places, out of which we already won two.

The announcer and presenter were Jung Woo and Oh Yeon Seo, what a combo!

They walked towards the two mics and flashed a smile to the audience. The nominations list was simple and everyone knew about it. The first one which I personally would love to watch win was 'Voice of Silence' written by Hong Eui Jeong. The second one was 'Love in Busan' by Kim Dae Joon which was a stupid love story and the so-called screenplay writer was a corrupt, harassing fool with a big belly. The only reason he still remained in the industry was because Wen Entertainment had his back. The third one was 'Spring Tides are Never Green' by Kwon Yoo Jun. The name didn't make the slightest sense to me but still it was on the same level as mine was. The last one was 'Scarlet Stars' by 'Black Star' aka me. It came out with a pretty clean finishing and it had already won two awards tonight. If we won this one, we'd make history.

After goofing around for a good two minutes, the presenters finally took the initiative to get the business over with. Jung Woo stood in front of the microphone and then announced, "The 57th Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Screenplay goes to Scarlet Stars written by Wen Wei Yi! Congratulations!"

Just the win I needed to humiliate a certain group of people. I got off my seat while flashing smiles to everyone. Finally climbing up the stage, I accepted the award and gave my speech.
