6. Crush

Stuck in my head
A flimsy crush
Never dated
Never will
Was it all a thought
A connection failed
You're a fantasy
But I don't think you'd ever fall for me

Grew up saying never
Dismissed you within a week
Never let the thought creep
Till it seemed you changed
Been a long year
Your smile grew
Do you see a difference in me too?

I know I'm hung up on your image
The one I drew
Never even held a color pencil
But you make the horizon seem more blue
I want to know you better
But doubt I show up in your recents
Thought I knew when to take a hint
Trying not to be hurt when you don't match my exhibit
But that's why I liked you so much

If I wasn't hurt then why am I writing
The image broken
when I learned you're leaving

Author's Note: Plain and simple, a crush. Not my kind of thing to have a "school girl crush."  My friends say this layout is different from my previous poems, it's like various short stories within, not just one long story. The beginning is the main idea. The second stanza is the backstory plus progression. Third, is how I felt. Last is realization. Moral of the story, if they don't reciprocate the energy then write it down and move on. You will know when someone is interested in you.
