Chapter 45 - Masked

Winds howled as the heavy rain accompanied it, there was a constant banging on the window from the harshness that the wind was carrying materials with it.

Amidst all this the screams of an omega lady were heard along with a few voices telling her to push, she let out another loud cry feeling herself getting ripped.

The pain was unbearable.

PUSH! PUSH! PUSH!

That was all she was hearing, it hurt she could feel her blood gushing out of her, she took a large breath in as she decided to give a push with tears cascading down her eyes.

She gasped and withered, trying her best not to pass out she pushed and waited for a moment until she cried out loud, the pain surging through her whole body made her experience her first yet incomplete death.

Another push and she laid limp, she could feel a big material slipping out of her abdomen, her lips tugged up into a smile knowing that the life she was growing inside herself was finally out in the world.

Jeon Areum was finally a mother.

Or so she thought, as she closed her eyes and laid limp she didn't have enough strength to even wait for her child's cry.

Her child never cried.

The alpha mate of the women heard everything going silent, even he stood still for quite a while before he ran towards the room standing outside he waited himself to hear the cries of his child, the excitement rushed through him wanting to hear his child's voice.

The only time parents are happy seeing their child cry is the first time the child cries.

Minutes passed and his heartbeat seemed to race, he waited more, he was being patient he used his hearing senses so that he could pick up the slightest sound of his child.

The door opened and the alpha backed away, his eyes lit up with excitement as he looked at the bundle that the doctor was carrying, she looked at the man with utter pain in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Mr. Jeon, your child couldn't survive she was born dead"

The whole world seemed to stop as he looked at her with his previously excited eyes turning into shock, grief, sadness.

"Wh-what?", the alpha spoke out, he waited for the doctor to say something but all the lady did was to pass the bundle in his hands.

The alpha held his dead child in his arms as the winds were howling now more violently, he looked down the child in his arms, his arms were shaking as he continued to look at his child.

It was beautiful as ever, a new born baby, his baby was pretty.

"Your child was a girl, a omega girl", the lady doctor smiled as she took back the dead fetus back in her arms, she could see the alive man being lifeless, she glanced inside the room seeing the alpha's mate sleeping soundly while she was being stitched.

"Your mate is completely fine", the doctor said.

"It would break her hearing our child, our daughter is no more, where did I lack?", the man looked up at the doctor with tears in his eyes, those tears fell down creating a trail down his cheeks, "Did not take proper care? I made sure my mate isn't in any pain, I did everything I could"

"It's all on Moon Goddess, we are nothing but her mere puppets playing our part on her decided play", the lady smiled as she walked inside and closed the door behind.
