A/N: okay, so i just finished watching the queen's gambit and fell in love with anya taylor-joy in general and especially beth harmon. after that however, i re-watched the kingsman series after what felt like YEARS and re-fell in love with the movies and the characters again—especially harry, eggsy and merlin. usually after that, i would fill the void by reading a bunch of "x reader" stories and for some reason i kept imaging the reader or even "y/n" as beth harmon from the queen's gambit instead of my name or other—so i came up with this. mixing a little of my own character-characteristics with beth harmon, an existing character to create an oc/exc (own character / existing character) mashup!
it's basically going to be an au where it takes place in modern times (the first kingsman movie and harry never died because he just didn't okay!) and anya taylor-joy's beth harmon stays the same (mostly staying on how she is during the last few episodes of the show's end), and she's just an agent in the kingsman that happens to be really fucking good at chess and dresses vintage/old school (the way she dresses in the show).
lastly, it doesn't take place specifically during any of the films, but more in a nice au a lil after secret service but before the golden circle.
