Welcome, other Star Trekkers! 😊

Y/n's pov

I packed my important things from my room, putting them in my case.

I grabbed my violin, something my mom taught me to play after my father died.

I smiled at it, remembering the songs my father would play to put me to sleep.

"Are you ready to go Y/n?"

I looked at my mom.

"Just a few minutes more." I smiled.

She smiled "You're taking the violin?"

"Yeah, it seemed like the most logical thing to do."

"You sound like a Vulcan."

I giggled.

"I know, but I love the violin so much, it reminds me of my father."

She sighed "I know," She grabbed my shoulders, and I looked back at her "hearing you play reminds me of your father."

"Well, Ensign L/n, are you ready?"

I smiled "Yes, sir."

She squeezed my shoulders softly "Great, so am I."

"Mom?" I asked.

"I'm coming with you."

I smiled, hugging her.

She pulled away, cupping my cheeks "I knew you couldn't leave without me." She teased.

"Mom, I love you."

"Let's go." She said and I closed my case, grabbing my things, even my violin, and its bow.

I quickly put my violin and bow in its case, taking it with me.

We walked to the transporter room and my mom told the man that we were ready for transport.

He contacted the Enterprise and said "We have two who are ready for transport."

There was another voice "We are ready to receive them."

"Energizing."

It was a few moments until the whoosh of active transport, and then I was on the Enterprise.

Four people were standing there, a bald man, another man, but with brown hair, a woman with long curly brown hair, and a boy, who seemed to be around my age, who looks a bit familiar.

I saw a Klingon at the transporter panel.

"Hello," The bald man said "I'm Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise, this is Commander William T. Riker, Counselor Troi, and Ensign Wesley Crusher." He introduced them.

Wesley Crusher?

"I am Emma L/n, and this is my daughter, Ensign F/n L/n." My mom said, introducing us.

Commander Riker made a guilty look, and Counselor Troi gave him a look.

"Counselor Troi will give you both a tour of the ship. If you like, Ensign, Ensign Crusher will give you a tour of Engineering, where you will be working, but if you like you'll be able to work at the conn on the bridge." He said to me.

I nodded "I would like that, sir."

I stepped down "But I would like to go to my quarters first."

The Captain nodded "I understand, Commander, will you kindly show these two to their quarters?"

Commander Riker nodded and motioned for us to come with him.

My mother and I followed Commander Riker.

He asked me "What's in the case?"

I looked at him "A violin."

"A violin? I didn't know that you played the violin."

"I didn't know that you knew me." I joked.

"Well, I knew your father when I served aboard the Pegasus."

I stopped walking.

"You knew my father?"

He nodded.

"He was a great friend, when I found out he died, I felt lost." He subtly motioned for me to start walking again, so I did.

"I'm sorry for your loss." He said.

I nodded "Thank you, but this was my father's violin."

"Really?"

I nodded.

I smiled a bit "I never knew your father played violin either."

I giggled.

"Well, he did, and my mother taught me how."

"How does your mother know how to play?" He asked.

"My husband taught me how." My mom said, smiling.

I smiled.

"Yeah, I'm glad he did, because I'd be lost if I couldn't hear that lullaby again."

"I know someone who knows how to play the violin." He said.

"Really? Who?" I asked curiously.

He smiled "Lieutenant Commander Data."

"Commander Data?" I asked.

He stopped at a door, and opened it "Yes, Commander Data."

"The Android?" I asked.

"My, you are curious today aren't you?" My mom asked.

I looked at her with an innocent look.

"Yes," He smiled "The Android."

My mom grabbed my hand, gently pulling me inside.

Then she looked at Commander Riker and said "Thank you for showing us to our quarters."

He nodded "You're welcome."

Then he walked away, and the door closed.

"Unpack your things." My mom said.

"Okay." I said, taking my things to my room.

I opened my case, taking my things out.

I placed my clothes in the dresser, and I put my brush on top of the dresser.

"Mom?" I asked.

She poked her head through the door "Yes, sweetie?"

"Did you recognize that boy?" I asked.

"I think so, wasn't that Wesley Crusher?"

"Yes."

She smiled.
