This chapter is kind of short don't kill me pls

I was asked to be on the bridge, and so I went up to the bridge.

When the turbolift doors opened, and I looked at the bridge with awe.

"Ensign l/n, sit at the conn." Captain Picard said.

I nodded and I went and sat down at the conn, noticing that Wesley is sitting to my right.

I smiled slightly.

I looked up at the screen in front of me, the stars zooming by as we went past them at warp speed.

I looked out the screen in awe.

"You get to see this, everyday?" I asked Wesley.

"Yep." I could hear him smiling.

I felt someone touch my shoulder.

I looked behind me and I saw Commander Riker.

"In awe, Ensign?" He asked as he smiled.

"Yes, sir." I smiled.

I looked back down at the panel, and I got to work.

Every once in a while I'd pick on Wesley, call him an old nickname, pick on him a bit more, and he'd chuckle and pick on me a bit, y'know? Friendly banter.

Data would give us a confused look every time I would say something a bit mean.

I find it funny that Data was programmed to only feel confusion, which is an emotion, and yet he says he doesn't feel emotions, yet he's always confused.

Huh.

I looked up at the screen, looking at the stars.

I smiled.

I wonder if I'll get married out here in the stars.

I looked at Wesley, and I stared at him for a long time.

I looked back at the screen before Wesley looked at me.

I saw him smile at me out the corner of my eye.

I slightly turned my head to him and I smiled back.

I took orders until it was time for me—and Wesley—to be relieved.

Wesley and I went to Ten Forward, where we talked for a long time, reminiscing about our childhood.
