Chapter 380

Meanwhile, with Matt in his office:
Matt's POV: As I sat in my office doing reports, I started to hear Severide yell for me. "MATT!" I then sighed. "Severide, not the time. I am doing..." Severide then looked at me. "IT'S GABBY!" I then looked at him. "What did you do?" I then went to get up, scared. "I didn't do anything, she yelled a me and she felt something drop. I already told Sylvie to get the Ambo ready and she's in the room." I nodded and looked at him. "DELANEY!" Delaney then came out of his bedroom. "What's up Chief?" I then sighed. "You are Chief effective immediately. Gabby, hospital, babies." He nodded when I said that. "Of course. Go. Want me to take care of your son?" I then thought about it. "Delaney, Severide is off. Go watch him now!" Severide nodded and agreed, running.

I then went to look at Gabby and looked at him. "Babe, what's wrong?" Gabby then turned to look at me and got scared. "Matt, it's too soon. It's too soon." I got scared when she said that before going to kiss her head. "Hey, I'm right here." I then went to rub her stomach. "We are going to be fine. People are going to be there for us. Severide is watching Louie. I will call Antonio." That's when Sylvie and Foster came in with the backboard. "Matt, you want to help?" I nodded when she asked me that. I then went to watch as they got her on. Grabbing the end of the backboard, I went to help her in. "Foster, you're driving. Sylvie, in the back with me." She agreed with me and nodded as we made our way to the ambulance. "DELANEY, stay safe!"

He agreed and nodded when I said that. Getting in the ambulance with Gabby, I just looked at her while I held her hand. That's when Severide came rushing down and passed me something comfortable to wear for me and Gabby. "Sorry, I just grabbed the things under your pillows. That okay?" I nodded and looked at him. "No, just wait for Antonio. Get him to meet us at the hospital. He can stay with Gabby and I can get things later." Gabby nodded when I said that. Severide then went to close the doors on the Ambo and hit the back as we rushed away. "Matt, I know you don't believe in this but can you.." I nodded. "Yes, yes. We can pray." I then got close to her and grabbed her hand, taking a minute to pray with her.

"God, please look over us today as we prepare to meet our twins Hanna Maria and Matthew James Jr. Please assist Gabby in the safe delivery and recovery after this time. And let us escape COVID successfully. Amen."

Gabby nodded when I said that before looking at me. "We didn't even bring kids clothes or anything." I nodded when she said that before going to kiss her forehead. "Gabby, concentrate. All that matters right now is that you are safe and that the babies are going to be okay. I am here with you babe and I will do anything to make sure that these babies are okay. I promise babe." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "No more kids. I'm sorry. I'..." I then shook my head and went to kiss her softly. "Not right now babe, just concentrate on your breathing." I then looked at Sylvie. "Sylvie, get her on oxygen and get me her heart rate checked. Oh and give me your radio." Sylvie then nodded as she went to give me her radio from her.

Grabbing it, I went to radio to Med. "Chief Casey to Chicago Med." Med then responded to me. "Go ahead Chief Casey." I then took a breath and went to tell them what's wrong. "Pregnant mother on route after going into early labor with twins. Mother is currently 24 weeks. C-Section required. Please note that there is also a triplet in there that died." Gabby then stared at me. "Really?" I nodded. "I had to tell them." I then went to continue. "Mother is B+ and is my wife!"  The hospital agreed with me when I said that. "We will get our best doctor on the case. Take deep breaths." I agreed with him and decided to tell Antonio. "Chief Casey to Det. Dawson!" Antonio then replied to me. "What's up Casey? A new case you need help with?"

I sighed when he said that. "Get to the firehouse and take care of Louie for me and Gabby. She went into premature labor." Antonio then got scared when I said that. "Is she there?" I nodded and agreed with him. "Go ahead and speak to her." Antonio then went to speak to Gabby. "Gabby, it's going to be okay. Be strong and remember we are all thinking about you!  Respira profundo! Respira profundo Gabriela! " I agreed with him. "Stay safe Matt, want me to get Christie or my mom there?" I shook my head. "Not safe. Talk later with updates." I then looked at Gabby while going to kiss her forehead. "Sylvie, grab me a medical mask from there."

She agreed and nodded as she went to grab me a medical mask. "Why exactly?" I then sighed. "The hospital requires you to wear Medical Grade remember?" She nodded and agreed with me when I said that. I then looked at Gabby and grabbed her hand. "Hey, positive thoughts okay? We are going to meet the twins today?" Gabby nodded when I said that. "Matt, know that I love you and..." I then went to stop her. "You do not get to think that way Gabby. You are going to survive this! You are going to be okay and you are going to meet Hanna and Matthew, Jr. I promise you that." Gabby nodded when I said that. "The firehouse isn't even ready for us."

I then sighed and looked at her. "Gabby, we have friends and I am sure that I can figure something out. You just concentrate on your one job okay? You give birth to our twins. Babe, we are going to meet them today. And I am here with you all the way." Gabby nodded when I said that before going to grab my hand, taking deep breaths as we made our way to the hospital so that we could meet our twins and become a family of 5. "Sylvie, let me talk there." She agreed and nodded when I said that. "You got it Chief." She then looked at Gabby. "And so do you Gabby. You are getting your dream life today...you are going to have your kids!"

Gabby smiled when she said that and nodded, taking deep breaths on our way to the hospital.
