08 - New Home

Previously in the last chapter

"Should we go? Happy, my driver is already waiting for us outside." Tony said.

I nodded and I took my jacket and my second pair of shoes with me as I left the orphanage.

Tony's personal driver Happy, I think that was his name, got out and carried my suitcase into the car. He gave me a friendly look and then held the door open for me.

I wondered what they both did for a living to be able to pay for a personal driver.

I got in and so did Tony and Pepper. Happy sat in front of the wheel, Pepper in the passenger seat, and Tony sat next to me.

When all the doors were closed, I saw the windows darken, as if the three of them were some kind of celebrity and didn't want photos taken of them.

Shortly after that we drove off. I was so excited about my new home and my new life in general. I just hoped that I could trust them completely.

(Present time)

~Y/n's Pov~

We had been driving for about 10 minutes when Happy announced that we would be there soon. The ride was quite nice so far. I had barely talked to either of them, but I was looking out the window the whole time and watching the crowds.

We drove on and on and the huge tall buildings got smaller and smaller. Yet they still almost touched the clouds.

"We're almost there." Happy informed us as we turned down a side street.

Behind us now were the big buildings and all that surrounded us were only trees and fields that were dense.

I kept wondering where they would live because there were almost no houses here, but then we slowly drove up to a big gate.

Happy pressed a button and it opened slowly.

The excitement in me increased the more the gate opened.

The car started to roll again and we drove through the gate. Finally I could see something.

In front of us was a huge building and other small buildings all around. All these buildings were shining in a silver and whitish tone.

My jaw dropped and just stared out of the car. There was a big "A" on each building.

"We're here." Happy said as he parked in front of the largest building.

Pepper and Tony got out and opened the door for me. I still couldn't believe how big this place was. And that I was going to live here for probably the rest of my life was just unreal to me at that moment.

"Welcome to your new home" Pepper said with a big smile on her lips.

"I- uh- wow it's beautiful here. And it's all yours? I asked excitedly.

"Not quite." Tony said. "There are more people living here. Our friends live here too. We have two floors with big rooms and a dressing room and bathroom for each person. We're like a big family here. Everyone is so excited to see you. Unfortunately, some of us aren't home right now, but you should have met everyone during the week."

My eyes sparkled with happiness and I slowly turned in a full circle to take a closer look at everything. Only now did I notice the large jet next to the building.
