Darkness surrounded us, kind of poetic, in a way, it's almost like the way we entered the maze was the way we left. The box. The tube. Quite similar. I didn't know what to do, tears filled my eyes that eventually fell down my cheeks, jeff had died there's no way he could have survived that. I had known him for years; he had become part of my unusual family and he was gone. It hurt. It hurt a lot. In the darkness, I felt someone behind me put their head against the back of my neck, their hand made its way to mine, I could tell who I was, even though it was dark.

He gripped my hand as Teresa made her way to a door, pushing it open and spilling light onto everyone's faces. He lifted his head as we all investigated where the girl was going. Out. I sling my bow over my shoulder and across my chest as the boy pulled me forward, I wiped my face down, probably smearing sweat, tears, and a small amount of blood across it. My gaze drifted all over the hallway we walked into as the boys grip on my hand tightened; I looked up from our hands to Newt. He wasn't looking at me though, his head looking from left to right, trying to figure out which way to walk. As we entered the hall, the lights got brighter and brighter, almost like they had been turned on for us; pipes lined the walls, it felt like we were underground, but that couldn't have been possible.

My eyes made their way to Thomas who had decided to go right, at this point he didn't even need to say anything, we just followed him. He was our newly self-appointed 'leader'. I glanced at everyone in the group, making sure they were okay.

Thomas. He seemed alright. Teresa. She does well at hiding her emotions, I couldn't read her. Chuck. He just seemed confused, maybe a little scared. Minho. Most people when they look at him can't see what he's thinking, but I can read him like a book, he's mad he didn't find this earlier, that he could have got us out earlier. Frypan. He's just being Frypan, he has no clue what just happened, but he's glad he's out. Winston. He's not speaking, I've learnt that he does that when he's scared. Jack. He's just dumbfounded, he was one of the boys that was going to stay with Gally. Gally... Billy. He seems just really tired. Tim. He's kind of just hugging his arms, he's either scared or just cold, could be either. Finally, Newt. His grip of still tight around my hand, he was in shock. Almost like Minho, I think he's angry that we didn't find this earlier but still glad we found it in the end.

We reached the end of the corridor only to be met by an illuminated light above a door: 'EXIT'. How ironic?

"Seriously?" Frypan lets out while looking up at the small sign.

An involuntary smile came across my face as I gestured to the sign, "Now that's just rubbing it in." I finish as I look up to the boy next to me, and finally he's looking back. His eyes drift, looking all over my face, his eyes almost glassy.

"Come on." He whispers as the group walks through the door into another room. Once we are in, the sound of a faint alarm is going off, there is smashed glass everywhere, along with a few people laying on the floor. Dead. The sight at this point doesn't even faze me, a hand makes its way to mine - it was smaller than what I expected. I look down to see the curly headed Chuck, fear trapped in his eyes. I pull him closer to me, my arm wrapped around his shoulder. A feeling overwhelmed me, but I can't put it into words, it's almost that I'm angry that he was put into this situation. Newt had changed the way he was holding my hand, this felt more comfortable besides the fact our grip was so tight on one another.

The room opened up and all we could see was destruction. Glass shattered covering the floor, blood trails leading themselves to bodies and computers illuminated with blue text. It looked familiar to me. Like I had been here before. Less a place of discord more a place... A place I had lived. Not like the maze, not my home, but somewhere. I shook off the feeling as a woman's voice interrupted my thoughts, "Hello." Everyone's attention was drawn to a screen with a woman in whites face on it. "My name is Dr. Ava Paige. I'm the director of operations of the World Catastrophe Killzone Department."
