bear with me (a rant)
so there's another book thief lurking around, a site called teenfic.net is ripping this story exactly word for word. not just this book, many of yours too (yes, those of you voting and commenting... you inspire me to go read your amazing books too! those of you like randomhomie, ginny, praju, emma, etc. i'm reading you all's books! and they ripped yours too 😡)
and they have no way to be contacted
(btw theres other ppl saying that the site might has lots of malware so dont go visit it --- or maybe visit it on your enemy's computer haha but you can see it on google if you search this title. some of your stories there dont come up on google search but they're there, comment or dm if you want more info, i already visited the site so my computer already got all the malware ha)
anyway not sure if im making drama out of nothing but it really doesnt feel cool.. like we all spend so much effort on our work... not just me but lots of you too. i know this bc so many of you are like really REALLY good writers
anyway idk what to do, i think of this wattpad zone as a safe space to talk with you all, and to be honest im talking with almost no filter here like with updates about family stuff and my thoughts about fandoms etc. its weird to see all that somewhere else with the same exact words. ALSO this is where writers can have control of editing and revisions based on reader feedback.
really idgaf the mirror sites can rip off my other fanfics bc other writers own those main characters anyway, like ofc bei weiwei is owned by Gu Man. enola holmes is owned by nancy springer
but kai and lukas...theyre like my precious babies
some other people on wattpad are taking their books down bc of all this. which feels sad.
Or maybe this is too extra but...
im almost thinking about posting the rest of the story to a private insta or something. what do you think? would some of you want to move with me there?
Or we can just wrap up here, in my mind kai and lukas have lots of next chapters and future adventures to come, they grow close and become even more perfect for each other
but at least you all know theyre side by side so maybe you can imagine them on their own journey & we can just leave it at that, the copyright infringement is too much and its just too much work to send a dmca notice to some random website with a hidden email every month and then finding a new one pop up the next time
