CHAPTER 52 - REJECTED

A- "Haseena, bahut din se ye baat kehna chahta tha lekin keh nahi paa raha tha kyunki tum toh jaanti ho ki mere papa ka job tranferable job tha aur humaari last jagah Agra thi...Lekin tab tak humaara contact toot gaya...Tumse contact karne ki bahut koshish ki lekin fir bhi nahi hoo paaya...Lekin jab itne din baad mile hain toh lagta hai ki taqdeer bhi hume milaana chaahti hai...(Everyone present there could only anticipate what A would say. They insidiously wished that A wouldn't say something out of the blue or something unforeseen otherwise he was bound to land in trouble. Meanwhile, AS was clenching his fists. Their convo was as follows-

SS- "Cheete, tujhe kya lagta hai ??"

CC- "Santuji hume toh lagta hai ki ek din aapko humaara pyaar samajh aayega...Aaj nahi toh kal hi thik..."

SS- Bites her lip, "Main iski baat nahi kar rahi A ji ki baat kar rahi hoon...Woh Haseena di ko kya kehna chaahte honge jo ki itne dinon se kehna chaahte hain aur contact tootne ke wajah se nahi keh paaye..."

CC- "Santuji PJ hoti toh pata laga paati..."

SS- "Haan, abhi mujhe unki bahut yaad aa rahi hai..."

CC- "Par Santuji hum guess kar sakte hain ki A ji apni dil ki baat kehna chaahte hain...Balki hum poora sure hain..."

SS- "Tu itne sure kyun hai Cheete ??"

CC- "Kyunki hum bhi toh woh hi karne ki koshish kar rahe hain...Itne din se hum aapko ek baat to kehna chahte hain ki-ki #blushblush..."

KS- "Amma bhakk !! Tabse bakaiti kiye jaa rahe ho...Agar ek do ghusand nahi khaana na toh cup-chaap baitho..."

SS and CC- "Sorry Karishma di..."

VS- "Sorry chhodo saale sahab ko dekhkar lagta hai bomb kabhi bhi fatne waala hai...Sab log fingers cross karke baitho..."

Everyone followed his instructions.

Haan toh main ye keh raha the ki, I love you Haseena...First sight mein hi mujhe tumse pyaar ho gaya...Lekin jab tak realise hua tab tak mera fir se transfer ho gaya...Lekin I think ki tum mujhe ab bhi accept karogi kyunki tab hum kaafi close friends hua karte the aur main tumhe kaafi acche se jaanta bhi hoon...So, will you accept me ??"

AS was shaking his fists with a flushed face.

SS- "Cheete...Tune toh sahi kaha tha...Inhone toh Haseena di ko propose kar diya...Tujhe female ke saath-saath male psychologist bhi hone chahiye tha..."

CC- In his iconic style, "Thank you, thank you Santuji..."

VS- "Lo ho gaya kaand...Aahvan ko aaj pitne ka man hai kya...Apne paanv par hi kulhaadi maar raha hai..."

SS- "Par pitega kaun unhe...Aap sabko ehtraaz na ho toh main karu ye kaam...Jo dekho Haseena di ko propose karta rehta hai..."

VS- "SS, isn't it obvious ki saale sahab pitenge unhe...Koi na koi aaye din behna ko propose karta rehta hai...Aur unka pitna matlab hospital pahunchna...Koi humse pooche kaise pit te hain woh..."

KS looked at him through bloodshot eyes. 

KS- "Baat toh aap sahi keh rahe hain lekin mujhe nahi lagta ki Anu bhaiyya pitenge...Unke shakl ka naksha dekhkar lagta toh nahi hai ki unhe gussa aa raha hai...Humaara matlab hai ki gussa unhe aa raha hai lekin woh kaafi sainyaam se kaam utha rahe hain...Kyunki jahaan tak hum bhaiyya ko jaante hain woh jinse pyaar karte hain unke liye woh bahut svatvbodhak hote hain..."

CC and SS- "Sva-sva-bodhak...Di iska matlab kya hai ??"

KS- "Amma !! Topa log iska matlab hai possessive hona..."

CC and SS- "Ohh !! Accha..."

VS- "Baat toh Karu ne bhi sahi kaha...Tabse hum volcano phootne ka intezaar kar rahe hain lekin ab tak toh phoot jaana chahiye tha...Lekin wahaan toh halchal ki koi nishaani nahi hai..."

SS- Interrupting VS, "Par Lucknow main toh volcano hai hi nahi..."

CC- "Santuji aap itni masoom kyun hai ?? (Slaps Cheete on his cheek, aur banda seedhe point par aa gaya...KS ke thappad ka kamaal hai ye...) Santuji woh Anubhav bhaiyya ki baat kar rahe hain..."

SS- "Ohkk !!"

HM- "A (Sighs) sorry lekin main tumhe accept nahi kar sakti...Hope you understand..."

A- Getting up from his knees, "Par kyun Haseena ??"

HM- "Kyunki I am already in a relationship..."

A- "Kiske saath ??" 

HM- "Anubhav ke saath..."

A- Bewildered expression, "Anubhav kaun ?? Ohh !!! KS ke bade bhai..."

HM- "Haan..."

A- Hyper, "Lekin kaise...I mean how ?? Tum log toh pehle se ek doosre ko jaante bhi nahi the na..."

HM- "Relax, relax A...Haan hum maante hain ki hum unhe pehle se nahi jaante the lekin jab mile toh ek doosre ko samajhne lage aur fir dheere-dheere pyaar ho gaya...Aur toh aur maine tumhe use nazariye se kabhi nahi dekha..."

A- "Par mujhe is se koi problem nahi hai agar tum pehle se kisi ke saath relationship main ho...Tum move on kar sakti ho..."

HM- Higher pitch due to sheer distemper, "Ye tum kya keh rahe ho A ?? Ye namumkin ke baraabar hai...Pyaar ka matlab samajhte bhi ho ki yoon hi kisi ka dil todne ko keh rahe ho..."

A- "Lekin main tumhe pehle se jaanta bhi hoon aur behtar samajhta bhi hoon...Tum sirf post ya aude ke liye mohabbat nahi kar sakti..."

HM- "Maana ki tum mujhe pehle se jaante ho lekin iska matlab ye nahi ki hum tumhaara prem prastaav sveekaar kar len kyunki jodiyaan upar se bankar aayi hai aur shaayad humaare kismat mein likha tha ki hum Anu se mile aur unhi ko apna sab kuchh bana le...Aur ye toh allah ka ishaara tha hum mana kaise kar len...Aur doosri baat tum ye itne guaruantee se kaise keh sakto ho ki tum mujhe behatar samajhte ho sirf isliye kyunki tumne mere saath zyaada din guzaare hain..."

A- "Lekin Haseena..."

HM- "Nahi ab hume please apni baat complete karne ka mauka do...Agar hum log ek doosre se na bhi milte toh ek doosre ko tab tak dhoondte jab tak hum mil nahi jaate...Aur agar hum apni duty ki wajah se ek doosre ke saath reh bhi na paaye haalanki llah kare ki aisa kabhi na ho, tab bhi hum saath honge...Jab ye hawa unke chehre se lipatkar aayegi tabhi hum saans lenge...Jab humaari aankhon se aansoon bahenge tab woh unpar baarish banke barsenge...Jab woh aasmaan ki taraf dekhenge tabhi hum bhi dekhenge aur tabhi...Sirf tabhi...Koi taara tim-timaayega...Hum humesha saath rahenge, har haal mein...Nahin toh na hawa chalegi, na baarish hogi aur hi aasmaan mein koi taara chamkega...I love him sabse zyaada..."

On that note, she turned her head towards AS and smiled gleefully...Everyone was dumb founded by her reply. They were snowed by her answer. She had poetically expressed her thoughts as clear as crystal...

HM's POV- I fell in love with all of you. I didn't just fall in love with the best of you like. The way your eyes light up the room. The way you laugh makes me smile. The way your hand fits in mine.
