Attention Earthquakes here are the prom court nominations. For King, we have, Jordan Vaan Draanen and Cameroon Kewller?  Tanya, is this a joke?  ok, I am told that Cameroon is a real student so congratulations to him, and for our third nominee Sebastian Woo. 

"Casey!" Alden ran over to me "I figured out what I need you to do"

"Ok," I said nervously "what do you want from me?" I knew it wasn't going to be good and I probably wasn't going to like doing it 

"Walk with me" she kinda commanded and we started walking "so as you know I am running for prom queen and I started a new dance team with Jordan and at the prom, we're going to have a dance battle"

"So you want me to what?" I asked raising an eyebrow

"I need you to join the new dance team" she replied simply "you and I will be the only girls" I hated this idea, I mean I hated it but I guess I didn't have a choice 

"Yeah, I guess I will" I sighed "when do we start learning the choreographing?" 

"After this" Alden smirked dragging me towards Jordan, now I had to put up with this guy who had wronged Cameron's sister who was almost like a sister to me "come on" she threw her arm around Jordan's shoulder and lead him down the stairs "Sawyer" she called 

"Alden!" Padgett said happily but her face soon dropped "and Jordan? and Casey?' Alden leaned over and kissed Jordan 

"What the hell is going on?" Padgett asked 

"JVD out" Jordan smirked walking past her, I didn't like the hurt look on my friends face, sure she could sometimes be a bitch but that didn't give us the right to stab her in the back 

"You know how you were running for Prom Queen unopposed?" Alden said with a fake smile "not anymore" at her command a bunch of girls came down the steps, had they been behind us the whole time?

"Clap your hands say it loud Alden Pierce will make you proud Clap your hands say it loud Alden Pierce will make you proud" they chanted 

"You're running against me?" Padgett frowned 

"We both are," I told her "I was nominated and I'm running for Queen" 

"Oh my god" Padgett gasped "Alden, you've been planning this all along, that day in Jordan's trailer, the video, you were holding the camera, my entire life was falling apart and you didn't press stop, you let it happen because you knew that you were going to run" 

"You would do the same thing" I sniffed 

"I thought we were friends"

"Friends don't lie," I told her "things with you aren't always the way they seem, you can drop the act Padgett, we know you don't have as much money as you say and that you can't pay to go to college" Quinn walked over, seeing the commotion "Did you really think you were fooling us" Alden scoffed "your mom's a nurse, you can't afford a car, you live in that dumpy little shack on Clinton, yeah, that's right, we know you don't live at the Palisades Loft"

"How long have you known?" she asked 

"A year" I answered quietly 

"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me" Alden smirked "if I want it to be, game on bubble girl" she flipped her hair and walked away 

"Casey, Quinn, I'm so sorry" she apologized "I thought you guys would hate me if you knew, also Casey what are you doing with her?"

"I can't say but I have to help her even if I don't want to and Padgett, you are one of my best friends, I don't care where you live, we wouldn't judge you" I assured her 

"I don't get it" Padgett sighed "she's like a whole different person" suddenly Quinn's phone chimed and she smiled looking at the text 

"Ooh, who is it?" I asked with a grin 

"No one," Quinn said defensively "it's stupid"

"really? then why are you blushing" Padgett asked with a smirk

"I'm not blushing" Quinn insisted "It's just a funny text" 

"A stupid funny text from...?"

"Nisha" she responded shyly 

"Quinn!" Padgett and I squealed "I'm so happy for you, I saw you talking to her at Alden's party"

"Yeah, she's pretty great" Quinn admitted "I was thinking of asking her to prom," she said softly, I squealed again happy for my friend 

"Oh my god, you guys would be so cute together," I told her "this is so amazing, so how are you thinking of asking her? there are a ton of ways you could go with this, you could do-"

"Casey," Padgett elbowed me in the ribs 

"Ow, what?" I asked, she nodded her head to someone behind me, I turned around and saw Cameron standing before me 

"Hey, um, you got a sec?" he asked 

"Go, we'll talk to you later" Quinn grinned pulling Padget along, I didn't know what to say, what to do, I gulped as he walked over to me 

"I guess you're talking to me huh?" I raised my eyebrow 

"Case, I'm sorry about that," he said "I got really pissed off and took it out on you which really wasn't fair of me, there's something that I want to talk to you about"

"Hey" Sebastian Woo interrupted "you, my man, are a rockstar," he said to Cameron "do you want to hear a poem?"

"Sure" 

"Cameron Kweller, interstellar, stood up to the dick, made it stick, Cameron one, Jordan zero, king Cameron you're my hero. Fight the power man" Sebastian held his fist out and Cameron gave him a fist bump 

"That was great," Cameron said with a very amused look on his face as Sebastian walked away "that was funny" he chuckled 

"Yeah" I gave him a small smile 

"Can you believe all this prom BS?" he asked, I didn't answer, instead I just gave him a hug wanting to be close to him, he wrapped his arms around me and we just stayed like that for a bit. I desperately wanted to cry, everything was becoming so much more complicated than I thought it would. I had so much I wanted to tell him but I just couldn't "hey, are you ok?" he asked smoothing my hair 

"Yeah" I mumbled into his chest feeling so comfortable just being near him, then the bell rang and I let go of him 

"Could you come over after school?" he asked "there's something I wanted to show you"

"Sure" I nodded trying to control the overpowering emotions that were flooding through me 

"Cool," he grinned and walked off to class, what was I doing? I was making a mess of everything "wait, Casey!" he called running back, he took my hands and looked at me "I'm here if you need anything, you know that right?"

"Of course"
