The man you thought loved you breaks your heart and chases you away from the place you had accustomed to call home. Eomer finds you and nurses you back to health, but will he be able to put your broken heart back together?

Your heart was broken. You sat in the middle of the throne hall, your hands squeezing the hem of your dress, tears falling down your cheeks. Your hands and knees were scraped from the force you had trust in front of the throne.

Your eyes met the grey ones of your fiancé, but the speck of the warmth you had been accustomed to seeing in them wasn't there. His hand was resting atop another's, the ring that he had promised to you now adorning her finger. She wasn't smiling like he was, a small speck of horror in her eyes as they met yours for a moment.
"D-Daniel." Your voice broke, but he just waved his hand in the air dismissively, looking at you like you were something that had gotten stuck to the bottom of his boot.
"Get her out of my sight." The command made your heart grow cold, and you were yanked up from the floor with harsh hands, their hold on you so tight that you just knew your arms would be filled with dark bruises tomorrow.

You were hauled out of the throne hall and thrown into the streets with an ultimatum. You had to make yourself scarce before the sun set. After that, they had permission to take your life. You didn't have anyone in the kingdom, no friends, no family. Most of the things you owned were gifted to you by Daniel, and you couldn't take any of them with you. You hurried to your once shared room and collected the only thing you could not bear to leave behind. Your necklace with your mother's and father's engagement rings and the pendant they had gifted to you on the last birthday before their untimely deaths.

And you ran. You ran as far and as hard as your feet would carry you. Tears were pooling in your eyes, rolling down your cheeks in hot streaks as you raced away from the place you had once called home. You had really thought he loved you as you loved him.

You hadn't even realized how long you had run until the sky was starting to lose the light. You began to feel pain in your legs, and you could see that your feet were bleeding from all the running, but you still refused to stop. You were so driven by fear and sorrow that you could not think clearly, the only thought in your head was to get as far away from the kingdom as possible. Your legs finally gave out next to a rock formation. The dark clouds that had gathered to the sky opened up, and the cold, forgiving drops falling onto your skin and clothes, soaking you to the core. But nothing nature could throw at you could make you feel worse than you were already feeling inside. You curled into a tighter ball, drowning yourself into your misery as the night around you grew darker, and finally, exhaustion won and you fell into a restless sleep.

Eomer jumped off his horse when he saw your shivering form, slumped next to the rocks. You were sopping wet, probably from last night's rain, and your clothes were torn.
"My lady? Are you alright?" You jerked awake at the voice and backed deeper into the space between the rocks, startled by his presence.
"A-Are you h-her to kill m-me?" The question made Eomer's heart clench. Why would he kill you? You didn't seem like a threat, looking miserable and shaking violently, your skin tone too pale to be healthy, and your lips blue.
"Why would you think so?" You shook your head, your eyes closed tightly.
"I-I..." You never got to finish your sentence as the world around started spinning and the borders of your eyesight began blurring away. You tried to fight the black that was slowly covering your field of vision, but it was for nothing, and you fell to the waiting arms of unconsciousness.

Months have passed since Eomer found you slowly freezing to death in the cool autumn morning in the outskirts of Rohan's borders. He had taken you to the healers immediately, who had been horrified by your condition and shocked that you were still alive. You were beyond exhausted and your body was fighting to keep its energy levels high enough to function. Your body was so cold that it was about to shut down to save your most important organs. The wounds in your legs and feet had been bleeding wildly and the healer considered you lucky that a predator hadn't caught the scent of your blood. It was also clear to anyone who spent time around you that your heart was completely and utterly shattered. Your expression was most of the times glum, and your smiles were rare.

Eomer was enthralled with you. Everything about you drew you in, the mystery of your sudden appearance in their lands, your beauty, and the personality that was slowly starting to emerge as the heartbreak was slowly easing its hold on you. You began to smile more, laugh more, and Eomer was beyond thrilled that you seemed to enjoy his company.

Romance slowly blossomed between the two of you, the friendly hugs turned into warm, love-filled ones, the gentle kisses to the cheek turned into deep kisses of passion. It was clear to everyone that the two of you were happy, and no one wanted to be there to stop that. Once Eomer asked you to marry you, and you agreed, of course, everyone in the kingdom was beyond thrilled. The wedding plans were coming along nicely, all matters being planned without a hitch.

But nothing in life ever goes so perfectly, does it? A scroll arrived at the kingdom, informing King Theoden that there would be a political visit to the kingdom just days prior when your wedding was supposed to be held. Your heart grew cold when you heard him announce it to his people, and you dropped the glass you had been holding. It shattered on the floor, but you were already gone, rushing towards your room, holding back tears. Eomer rushed after you, calling your name.

Your old fiance had risen to power in his province, and he was coming for a visit. It had stuck you out of nowhere, like lightning, and you felt nauseous as you thought you would have to face him again. You had managed to just put yourself together with Eomer's help, and you feared seeing him would just tear all the old wounds open again. You could faintly hear Eomer knocking on your door, desperately calling your name.

Part two is in the works, don't worry, I won't end this in a cliffhanger.
I got this idea from a video game ad when I was playing a coloring game on my phone. It took me a while to get it into a fic that worked, but here it is!
