CHAPTER 1;
a delicate rose she was

⊹ฺ╬⊹

There were two archons who had won their own spots within the archon war and were the oldest among the nine gods. The two archons were known to be a balance to one another. They were known as the eighth and ninth archons. Or more widely known as the Yin and Yang twins.

Yin being the male twin who was the god of death and poison
While Yang was the female twin who was the goddess of life and medicine.

Yang always was so soft to those damn archons. She was everything that they wished to still be.

After all, She was too much like an untainted rose. So naive, innocent yet brilliant and magnificent. She was ignorant of her flaws and served her people helping them to the best of her capabilities with the utmost sincerity.

And every step she took she was graceful and soft. Her smile was worth more than any gem on teyvat and the form she took upon was just as magnificent. Her short curled albino hair was always decorated with flowers. She wore a flower crown that the children of her nation would make for her and she always seemed to wear it with pride even if it wasn't amazingly made.

Her eyelashes were thick and long with beautiful baby blue eyes. The long robes she wore were detailed and made to fit her figure. And in the light, you can see a hint of lilac in the fabric which seems to glimmer and sparkle. And it always seemed the soft fabric she wore always graced her feminine body. The jewels she wore were not much but they emphasized and brought herself to light. The bewitching lilac ribbon lining she wore always seemed to intoxicate everyone

She could have enticed all the beings on teyvat and no one would have been surprised.

But she was still everything those archons wished to be, besides from her beauty. For how they longed to be like her. And to be loved by her like how she loved her people. How so much they wanted to be intimate with the goddess and bring her into their bed to see the other side of her.

After all, she was too much like a rose, she could have had her head cut off at any moment and in doing so they could have kept the goddess to themselves. And so many were curious too to see how far they could go until the soft-hearted archon would go until she snapped. But no one dared to, after all the one who cared for the rose was the roses sharp throns, the twin brother.

And he was the complete opposite of her.

His black straight long hair went to his feet. He had clear skin, the kind you see in magazines with airbrushed models. And the outfit he wore was black silk and velvet, that draped along his bare skin. The fabric is thin enough to reveal his upper body. Which was showing off his well built and muscled body, He was tall and broad-shouldered.

And his height at a distance could be mistaken for a giant and it made him more frightening as his face always seemed to be set into a scowl, clearly irritated. As if he was ready for blood to be spilt at any given time. But at the same time, even his relaxed expression frightened people away.

The jewels he wore were bright and heavy as it was made by blacksmith masters that could also be used not only for beauty but also protection. But where his sister had a flower crown. He wore a skull of an animal on his head with a viel attached to it. To hide his true face. But his gold eyes always seemed to shine through his ominous mask.

But just like his sister, he was described just as beautiful as she was. But unlike her, he knew the troubles that came with beauty and hid it away and let his sister embrace it instead. Letting her be free and happy with the choice even if he was judged as a monstrous and tyrant archon.

But yet, even with the names her brother was called and how many were afraid of him, the frail rose was never afraid of her twin brothers thorns. And instead embraced him with hugs anytime she saw him. She was the one who saw him through the true him. He was just a gentle giant to her.

And that was all that mattered to her. She didn't care if her brother was scary to others as long as he was comfortable. And that was why they were such a balance. They understood one another so well and appreciated one another.

And his eyes follow her every move every time she spoke with the other archons. Yang was so close to all of them. Mostly with the god of freedom Barbatos.

Even she hung out with rex lapis and Raiden shogun. They all had respect for the gentle goddess and always greeted her with a small nod and a small smile. After all they were always were reminded of their past friends, siblings and lovers due to her presence. But it was a nice feeling.

But yin, the older brother did not once trust their eyes. Never believing the deceitful eyes of the archons. Always believing they had ulterior motives around his beloved sister. But he never made his own worries apparent with her. Never spoke with her to show his worries since he did not want to belittle her or make her seem like a Child.

And that.

Was his first and last mistake

Why did he not talk to her? Why did he not warn her of those archons and tell her their true nature? That they would betray her at any moment.

Why did he not warn her of Celestia?

After so many years he couldn't help but just feel guilt. Because if he had. Maybe she would have lived and stayed with him all these centuries. After all, if he had told her not to help those khaenri'ahn children she would have survived.

What could he have done? Every time he closed his eyes all he could see was her whispering sweet lies as she lost the light in her eyes as she whispered her apologies. Promising him dead filed lies saying she will be back, and how she wasn't scared as her body started to numb.

Oh, how scared they both were, how she trembled in his arms as she teared up as she watched the older twin weep with her in his arms. Knowing he had to take her to the next life since it was his duty.

But just as he wept so did the goddesses people, they cried for days for the passing of their goddess as they left thousands of roses at the archons grave to show respect for the passing. All wearing dark colours for the month.

But all of the followers were furious. Why was their kind goddess took and all that is left for them is of her cruel brother?

Why was their delicate rose taken when the monstrous poison god could have died in her stead.

It was all they could think about.

And so, slowly but surely. With fear and anger etched in all their minds, the nation filled with the roses people started leaving. One by one until barely was left. And at the end. All have had left leaving a desolate and cold land.

Dragon spine

And all that was left was a numbed archon. Who kept doing his duty in silence and waited for his own passing. Never speaking with the archons ever again, and they never reached out for him due to their large amount of guilt.

But even he, the poison god , was just tired. So tired he was just now waiting for his own passing. For endless time he would wait until he could finally see his beloved twin sister. And so. He decided. He would go into a deep slumber in the deepest and coldest parts of the dragon spine where no one would find his body and sleep.

Slumbering peacefully as his body would be watched by his creations. Making sure nothing would attempt to disturb his peace.

And so he slept until, as much as he could until he was once awoken once more or until he also passed on to Celestia where his sister was waiting for him.

Oh, how he missed the delicate rose that was of his sister.
