Sally is now walking alone, out in the cold world. She regretted going alone but she knew it was for the best. The cold wind breeze was enough to make her shiver here and there. As she was walking, she coughed another petal with small blotches of blood. One thing she was curious about, why was it chrysanthemum petals? Is it because it's her favorite flower? More like Nia's favorite until it became her favorite too? Who knows? Whatever it is, Sally wants it gone. Nia was worried for her and that wasn't her intention at all. Luckily her house wasn't too far and she can definitely make it home without drawing any attention whatsoever.

7 pm and Sally was glad to be back home. The travel wasn't smooth as there were coughing here and there. She got in her house and breathed heavily. Why did these coughs come? Everything was perfectly fine! Anyways, she didn't feel like eating anything so she dressed up and prepared herself for bed. Now that she's done, she laid down on her bed and groaned, her plan on having a good day with Nia was ruined because of her.

She felt awful.

Next day arrived and Sally wasn't any better. She couldn't even leave her sink as the coughs got rougher and more bloody petals appeared. She's now scared. What is gonna happen to her? Why is she coughing out flowers? Her mind is full of thoughts and she has been panicking all day. The thought of dying early kept coming to her. She tried shoving the thought away but it was no use. Tears started to form in her eyes. She isn't prepared, she is terrified of the results. But she knew that going to the doctors was her best option.

Off she goes to the hospital. She's now in the waiting room, nervously waiting for her name to be called. Sally couldn't help but shake in fear. What could this disease be? The wait took at least an hour but that wasn't enough for her. Nervousness intensified as the speaker announced her name. She slowly made her way to the doctor's office. As Sally opened the door, the doctor greeted with a smile. "Goodmorning Ms. Buenaflor. Have a seat."

"Thank you." Sally mumbled and sat down.

Sally explained the things that had been happening to her and she could tell it was bad as she saw the doctor gave her a serious look.

"Ms. Buenaflor, It seems to me that you have the case of the hanahaki." Said the doctor. "It's a chronic Illness wherein flowers would grow in your lungs and it only happens when you experience unrequited love.

Sally's eyes widened in shock. "That can happen? Is there a cure for this?"

"Well there are two options. It's Either you get that unrequited love or surgery. If I were you, I would opt for surgery immediately. Although the side effects can happen." The doctor explained. "One of which is you won't feel the same to that certain person or even worse forget about them."

"And... what happens if I don't ?" Sally asked.

"Hanahaki has four stages and if you reach that fourth stage, it will result to death. I'd suggest doing this surgery early to avoid complications."

"No, no. I can't do that." Sally shook her head, she never wanted to forget about her friend.

"Ms. Buenaflor, I've seen people like you. They always thought they could get that love but instead they never even make it out of the surgery room."

"I know Doc but I'll pass this one. Thank you." Sally declined the offer and left.

Sally walked home, saddened by the news. Hanahaki? She never thought that kind of illness would even exist but looks like it's real cause apparently she has it now. Sally was extremely worried. She already knew she'll never get that love but she doesn't want to forget her best friend, no way that will happen. She walked home as everything around her felt miserable. As she was passing by, she coughed up a petal. Sally looked at the petal and tears pressed on. Out of all the things that could happen, hanahaki was the chosen one. She couldn't help but cry even more as the thought of forgetting Nia came to her again.

As Sally got home, she slammed her front door as hard as she could and went straight to her bedroom. She let herself fall in her bed. The thin dam that she was trying to hold on just collapsed as she started to sob. Sally felt like it's the end of the world for her. Every good memory she had with Nia used to make her feel better but this time it wasn't. Sally let herself lay in her bed and let Niagara falls take over her.

From exhaustion, Sally had fallen asleep after and was woken up from the ringing sound from her phone. She rubbed her eyes and grabbed her phone which was placed on her bed side table. She didn't look at the number and just answered it. "Hello?"

"Sally? Is that you?"

"Nia? Yeah, I'm alright." Sally quickly sat up properly as soon as she heard her friend's voice.

"Oh okay. Good to hear.." Nia replied, trying not to sound worried.

That wasn't fooling Sally at all. Even over the phone, she could tell that Nia was VERY concerned. "Look, don't worry. I could feel your worried ass from here."

"Sorry. I just couldn't help it. After all, it just happened all so sudden."

"I know."

"Have you tried going to the doctor?" Nia asked again, she couldn't help it.

Sally sighed. She felt happy as she knew that Nia cared for her a lot. "Yeah. They told me that it's just a normal cold."

"Really? Well alright fine. I guess I shouldn't worry too much"

"Yeah, you shouldn't. So go enjoy there!" Said Sally in a cheerful tone and immediately hung up the phone.
