Time passed quickly after that, and soon you planned to have a picnic under the famous confession tree for your anniversary. Turns out some of the other volleyball players had also confessed under that tree and been accepted.

That afternoon, you dressed in a flowing white dress while Akaashi dressed in a white dress shirt and cream trousers to match your outfit. You grabbed a plaid blanket for the both of you to sit on and of course, the delicious snacks. Together, you and Akaashi walked hand in hand to the tree and set down your blanket. Fortunately, the comfortable blanket was large enough for the both of you.

You both spent the afternoon chatting and talking about things. At one point, you decided to do one of those tiktok activities where you swapped art pieces every couple of minutes. Though Akaashi insisted that his art skills were no good, he still gave in, unable to withstand your pouting face.

Seeing his girlfriend smiling and happy, Akaashi couldn't help but let a small smile make its way onto his face. Spotting the rare sight, Y/N quickly took out her phone and snapped a photo of him and set it as her lock screen.

After finishing all the snacks that they had brought with them, Y/N and Akaashi decided to just allow the sun to warm their bodies. Akaashi lay with his back against the tree while you lay your head on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep.

Warmed by the sunlight shining down on his face, Akaashi allowed his eyes to drift close. Soon, he was fast asleep. He dreamt that you were placing a warm blanket over him as he slept peacefully under the tree.

In his dream, he felt your warm body cuddle against him. You stroked his hair lovingly while he lay under the tree's shade and the dandelions of the field danced and the pink flowers floated down from the tree above. Smiling, he relished in the feeling of your fingers threading their way through your hair.

Blinking open his eyes, Akaashi saw that he was lying under the tree that was in his dreams, the very cherry blossom he had confessed to you, but your familiar figure was not curled up next to him. "I really miss you. Every day." Akaashi whispered to the dandelion field. The yellow flowers in the field nodded their heads, as if they were speaking for you. "I miss you too." The wind seemed to say as it blew through the field.

Illusions could only last for a certain amount of time, couldn't they?
