There she stood, an unknown face in a barren dimension. Margo couldn't find the words to speak. In her confused thoughts, she couldn't understand how there could be someone other than them and Damon in the prison world.
"You two look screwy. Can I help you?" the blonde girl with bloody hands spoke.
"Yeah actually you can. Tell us who the hell you are and how you got here." Kai said while taking a stern step towards the blonde. Margo quickly placed her hand on Kai's shoulder in attempt to calm him down. To her surprise, it worked and he took a step back.
"Look at the mouth on this one!" she laughed.
"I'm Hadley, it's nice to meet you." the blonde greeted and offered her hand out. Blood dripped off her fingers, leaving a map of red spots the floor.
"Who's blood is that?" Margo asked, ignoring her hunch. She dreaded to hear the answer and hoped she was wrong.
"Oh, excuse me. My bad." Hadley snickered and messily wiped her hands on her grey shirt. "Nothing to worry about."
Margo felt sick and nervous. She pushed Kai out of her way to get to the door Hadley had emerged from moments earlier. It was already slightly ajar, so Margo saw how dim the tiny room was. Though, lit enough for her to see it was a store.
She held the door with her shaking hands and opened it ever so slowly. The sound of her heartbeat filled her ears till it hurt and she couldn't breathe. But, she finally saw him. Damon was right in front of her.
Right in front of her with a metal pole through his chest. It punctured through his body and into the wall, pinning him inches above the ground. Margo shrieked at the sight and rushed towards her unconscious friend.
"Damon? Damon?" she repeated over and over, trying to get him to wake up.
"Honey, don't even try. He'll be out for at least a couple minutes."
Margo gripped the metal pole firmly and pulled it out of his chest. His body fell onto her but she caught him in time. She sat Damon down against the wall before stumbling back out the store room to the blonde and Kai.
"Why would you do that to him?" Margo asked, keeping calm. She planned of using magic on Hadley as a last resort.
But Kai thought different. The blonde began to squeal in pain, caressing her temples with her hands, falling to the ground and onto her knees.
"She's a vampire." Kai muttered with a disturbed look on his face. He walked straight to Hadley and stopped his spell. She exhaled a breath of relief and fidgeted with her hair that had gotten messed up.
"Talk about bad manners!" she grunted and swung a hit at Kai's leg with vampire strength, sending him flat to the ground.
In a brief moment of panic and confusion, Hadley had sped off from the scene. Margo and Kai turned to each other with similar expressions and most likely similar thoughts. There was a very real person in the prison with them and they had no idea who she was or how she got there. But Margo had her priorities sorted. She aimed only to bring Damon home. And her goals were coming to life the same time Damon was.
He coughed a little and covered his previous wound, caused by Hadley and the pole, with his hands. He may have been in discomfit for a few moments but a couple of seconds later, his eyes found focus onto the world again. Damon Salvatore was now awake and in Margo's presence.
She charged to Damon and hugged him with every ounce of energy she had left in her body. She felt superglued to him, and she didn't want to let go. Margo couldn't believe she was actually in Damon's arms after countless weeks.
She said his name over and over in trembly breaths, unsure of if she felt it as excitement or nervousness. He greeted her back and reassured, multiple times, how glad he was to see Margo.
