welcome to the first chapter :) I hope everyone enjoys! At the end of the chapter, the description of "The Fade" that everyone is mentioning is there. You can skip to the end to read it before the chapter or read it after.

-----------------------------------

"What the hell is going on?" Emily scolded with her arms crossed. She stood at the doorway of the North Pole's main kitchen beside Phil as they looked in to find Liam and Callahan just standing there with cooking flour all over them. Liam dropped the bag, pointing at Callahan while the fairy just let his jaw drop. They both went to arguing with each other as Emily just rolled her eyes, looking to Phil.

"It's your kitchen, you deal with them. We can't bother Natasha right now. I'll go get Eleanor." She left Phil to try to deal with them while she went to find the elder Pooka. The halls were filled with yetis and elves trying to get everything in order for Christmas which was only a few weeks away. It was weird how fast yet slow time seemed to be moving.

Her eyes couldn't help but turn to the portrait that had been put up in the Globe room. It was a picture that Phil had taken during a dinner the Guardian's were having one night. They didn't know the picture had been taken, only Phil bringing it out to have a memorial for them.

(cover picture description)

Her hand came up to a necklace around her neck that Pitch had given her.

There were three charms on the chain. A charm from Pitch, when the necklace was given so long ago, their promise ring. The second was from the tribe of Pooka's back then, given by Ares and Eleanor as a sign of family. The third was left by Jack, a snowflake that would never melt. All three of the most important things to her right there with her.

She missed the Guardians, things were not the same without them. The Pole was filled with life but not having the larger Russian running around with his jolly and loud self made it a little more quiet. The Tooth Place was still running full speed but instead of a rapid list, never ending, speaking, it was Callahan laughing and joking with the little ones but still did his job.

The Warren was being run by Lily as she kept up production and painting to the max. Eleanor kept up with the gardening as she made sure the men didn't touch it. Everyone knew if Aster came back to a run down Warren he would be furious.

The dream sand was being controlled by Denver and the nightmare sand was being controlled by Emily. It all worked itself out but it still needed a little bit of help sometimes. They travelled a lot more but Emily had it easy as the mares just listened to where she told them to go. All of them took their jobs in full right after the Guardians went into the Fade sleep.

It was a sleep that put them into a coma to bring their power levels to the start, a fresh start in life. All of them were asleep in certain places in the world, only their respected families knowing their locations. It was their last Guardian that the job didn't have a specific person.

Well the people that the power was temporarily given to was shocking.

"LIAM!" Emily turned to see that the hall way had been frozen. She took in a deep breath before pinching the bridge of her nose. Liam was one of the ones that had woken up after Jack's second fade to find that he froze places that he stepped. It was a struggle to end up controlling, he had to go stay with Seraphina for a long time to control the winter that was given to him.

He went around the world with Jack's staff, using the tunnels to give certain places snow where it was needed. It came with the pro of not being able to get cold anymore but the con was he had to stay far away from the gardens unlike how he used to work with Eleanor. He also had a problem with getting upset and then freezing his surroundings.
