Amber's POV

After Derek agreed on the talk I took him to my office where we could talk privately. Jose, of course, followed us. I kindly asked him if he would step out so I could talk to my brother privately. Jose growled immediately after the words left my mouth. It wasn't a good idea to have them in the same room considering Jose and Derek weren't getting along too well.

"I am not leaving you alone with him" he growled out the last word

"Jose please...." I started only for Derek to interrupt me

"He can stay. He is after all your mate." He said

I looked at him then to Jose then repeated the process. Jose had a look of confusion while Derek has one of understanding? What the hell happened while I was under? They had like some silent bro moment before nodding in some kind of agreement. They both turned to me as I'm pretty sure I had a confused look on my face as they both answered in sync.

"It's a guy thing"

"Yeah, always a guy thing. So how do we start this?" I ask as I walked around my desk to sit in my chair

"Well, what do you want to know?" He asks sitting in the chair in front of my desk as Jose sat on the sofa by the door

"What happened that day those men took you?" I quickly questioned as that was the freshest memory in my mind at the moment

"Well, when they took me they knocked me out so I didn't know exactly where we were at. The next thing I know I wake up in some warehouse tied up to a chair. They asked me about a girl who supposedly at 18 would have immense power."

"The same girl they asked about when they took you?" I questioned once again

"Yeah. Now they tortured me with many different things and considering I didn't have my wolf yet the wounds didn't heal fast. Anyway, they interrogated me from sunrise to sunset day after day. After a while, they realized I would never tell them anything. So they set up a date for me to be executed by having their wolves pull me apart limb from limb. " Derek said looking into the distance as if recalling that awful memory

"How did you get out of it?" Jose asked leaning forward and placing his elbows on his knees a sign he was truly intrigued.

Derek's POV

"How did you get out of it?" My sister's mate asks me

"Well, I would have died if it wasn't for mom," I said looking down in memory of my...our mother, "She said some kind of spell that instantly made them faint. She then quickly untied me and we flew off."

"Mom?" My sister mumbled under her breath her eyes widened briefly before all emotion vanished from her face

She looked at Jose who looked back at her in concern. They had some silent conversation through their mind link before Jose talked.

"What happened then? "

"Well I started to fly back home but mom said it would be too dangerous if we went back. I had asked her why but all she said was I'd know in time. I fought her on it because the thought of leaving you behind tore me to pieces. I know now why she didn't let us go home that day and leaving the way we did was the right thing to do. "

"Why?" Amber askes

"I can't really tell you until your ready," I repeat the exact words the council told me when they sent me here

"And why not?" Amber asked a little pissed at my response

"The council won't let me" I blurted out slightly pissed myself

"Who's the council? " she inquired

"They...they...uh I can't really tell you that either. " I said and Jose snorted confusing me until my sister's growl made it very clear that she does not like being told no

"And why the hell not?" She growled out

"Because they are like the police for us. They make the laws we have to follow and if we break them well we receive the punishment that fits the crime. " I said looking down at the carpet in her office

"We? You mean there are more people like us?" She asked a hint of hopefulness within her voice

"Well no not until we die or have kids," I answered truthfully

"So it's only us two?" she questioned as the hope that was there before vanished

"Yeah"

"And you guys are siblings? " Jose asked

I smiled at his worry about what my relationship was with my sister.

"Yes, Alpha Jose she is my sister." Just as the words left my mouth the doors to the office opened and two guys walked in.

Amber's POV

"Yes, Alpha Jose she is my sister," Derek answered just before my doors opened and in walked the twins

"Hey, sis... um" Jordan started before he looked up to see my mate and my brother

Jayden instantly growled at my brother.

"Sis?" Derek asked confused at the same time Jayden asked

"What the hell is he doing here?"

Derek still looked confused while Jayden was pissed off. For the first time in a while, I had no idea what to say.

How the hell do I tell Jayden that he got attacked by my brother?

And how do I tell Derek that he attacked my brother?

They both looked up to me waiting for my answer as I just stood there staring back blankly.

Just tell them there's no use in beating around the bush. Jose said through our mind link

Are you sure? I don't want them to get mad at each other.

Well, it's better to find out from you than each other. I nod towards him and face my brothers again.

"Jayden, Jordan this is my brother Derek and Derek these are my brothers Jayden and Jordan," I said. They looked at each other then back at me and said in unison

"Brother?" I nodded and explained.

"Derek was taken away when I was little so I didn't remember him," I said explaining to Jayden and Jordan

" I met Jayden and Jordan after I ran away from Jose. We made this pack together and look after each other. They became my brothers and my betas on the day we met." I said while looking at Derek

It was silent for a while before Derek broke the silence.

"Sorry about attacking you. I have anger issues and I can't really control it." Derek explained looking at Jayden

Jayden looked at Derek then to Jordan. They seemed to have a conversation before Jayden looks at me for a couple of seconds confusing me before he turns to Derek.

"Its okay I'd do the same thing if I was in the same situation."

My eyes visibly widened with shock at how my brothers reacted to this whole situation.

"So can we start all over?" Derek asked Jayden sticking his hand out for a shake

Jayden nodded and placed his hand in Derek's and they shook. I smiled and looked at Jose who was already smiling back with the I told you so look all over his face.

He nodded at me before looking at my brothers who were talking to me.

"I'm sorry what did you say?"

"You marked each other? " Jayden and Jordan said in sync

Derek sniffed the air and looked at me then Jose then back to me. Then all three boys turned to Jose in unison and growled.
