We pulled up to the beach and it was wet and cold. I shouldn't have been surprised with all my Forks experience, yet there I was. I think the others might have been more surprised than me though.

Uraraka, Iida, and Tsu were the three that would actually be going surfing. Aoyama and I were just going to stay behind and watch them struggle.

"I thought Iida was going to ask me to prom yesterday, but no." The blond said dramatically after Iida and Tsu had walked down to the beach, Uraraka still putting on her wet suit.

I shrugged. "Why don't you ask him? Be a twink that takes charge."

Uraraka nearly fell over in her hysterics and Aoyama just gaped at me.

"What?" I asked, clueless.

Aoyama swallowed and took a deep breath. "Did you just-"

"Deku?"

I snapped my head in the direction of the familiar voice. Walking towards me was Kacchan, a black-haired boy, and a pink-haired girl, all with amazingly long hair.

"Kacchan? You stalking me now?" I asked in a teasing manner.

He scoffed at the question. "You're on my res, remember?" He nodded towards Uraraka's board. "You surfing?"

I aggressively shook my head. "No way."

Uraraka winked at me discreetly before turning to Kacchan. "You can keep him company since his date bailed."

Aoyama perked up. "Date?"

"He invited Todoroki." She explained with a small laugh.

"Just to be polite," I mumbled in defense.

Aoyama tutted at the brunette. "I think it's nice he invited, no one ever does."

Uraraka frowned slightly at being chastised. "Yeah, because he's weird."

The black-haired boy with Kacchan scoffed. "You got that right."

I looked over at the three newcomers. "You know him?"

"The Aizawa's don't come here." He said sharply, almost glaring at me for asking a question he brought on himself.

Kind of a dick move.

It got awkwardly quiet after that, Kacchan having nudged his friend for what he said.

I cleared my throat and grabbed the blond's arm. "Wanna go look at the tide pools?"

He was definitely suspicious of the question but nodded his head anyway.

We walked down to the beach and started our stroll by the waves.

"So, what did your friend mean by the Aizawa's don't come here?" I tried to ask as casually as possible, but I knew he wouldn't buy it.

"That idiot is not my friend." He said back, avoiding my question.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Fine, your acquaintance then."

Kacchan sighed, realizing that I wasn't going to let this go. "It's just an old legend- story, really."

I nodded for him to continue.

He rolled his eyes, guess he doesn't believe that legend too much. "Supposedly, we- my tribe- are descended from wolves or something like that."

"Fur, fangs and all?" I asked, inching closer to him as we walked, entranced by the idea of getting answers.

He nodded with a quiet chuckle.

"And the Aizawas?..."

Kacchan shrugged. "Apparently descended from an enemy clan... but they claimed to be different, so we made a treaty with them."

I shook my head. This wasn't making sense. "But didn't they just move here?"

"Or just moved back."

"Right. So what was this treaty anyway?" I asked, skipping over the plot hole in the legend.

Kacchan's voice was lower as he spoke, "If they promised to stay off our lands, we wouldn't
expose what they really are to the rest of the world."

I shivered, but I didn't think it was from the cool weather.

Aoyama came running past with a scream, being chased by Uraraka holding seaweed.

"So what were they really then?" I asked him.

He shook his head with a frown. "It's just a story, Deku."

I nodded and tried to hide my disappointment. I thought Kacchan might be able to give me the answers I needed.

Guess not.

The rest of the beach trip went by in a blur, my mind preoccupied with one question.

What the hell was Shoto Todoroki?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I got home from the beach, my mind hadn't slowed. I was still looking through every possible answer to my question.
Eventually, I started thinking more clearly and used enough common sense to pull up google.  looked up legends from Kacchan's tribe. If he wouldn't tell me the full story, maybe the internet would.
In my search, I came to the realization that the internet would in fact not be able to tell me the full story either.
But it did show me where to find it.
The next Monday it was... sunny.
It was sunny for the first time since I moved to Forks.
After the odd and abrupt way Todoroki blew me off the previous week and the mysterious legend Kacchan had told me, I was on the lookout for the dual-haired teen. I was getting tired of having more questions than answers.
"He won't show," Aoyama said from behind me.
It was the beginning of the day and since it was so nice, most of the student body was sitting outside. My blond, french friend was sunning himself on the top of a picnic table.
"Huh?" I asked dumbly.
Aoyama sat up and shot me a knowing smile. "Todoroki won't show up today, none of the Aizawa's will actually."
Now I was even more confused. "What do you mean?"
"When it's really nice and sunny like this, Dr. Aizawa and his husband pull the kids out to go, like, hiking and stuff," he explained.
Yeah, I was instantly jealous.
Uraraka, who was sunning herself right next to him nodded in agreement before gasping and hitting Tsu on the shoulder. "Oh! We need to go dress shopping, like, this weekend or all the good dresses will be gone," she said with a pout at the thought.
Tsu nodded, seeming to agree with the brunette.
"Count me in," Aoyama said with a wave of his hand.
The brunette next to him gasped. "Are you wearing a dress this year?"
Aoyama laughed and Tsu shook her head. "I think the point was to tell us that he finally has a date," she explained.
Uraraka gasped twice as dramatically as before. "Did he finally ask?"
Aoyama shook his head with a self-satisfied smile.
"You asked him, didn't you?" I said with a knowing look.
"I am a twink that takes charge, after all."
Our table fell into a fit of laughter at the, now, inside joke.
"We're going to the East Harbor right?" Tsu asked, looking up at Uraraka, who nodded enthusiastically.
"It's the only place with half-decent dress shops within a thirty-mile radius," she complained.
"East Harbor?" I perked up at the mention of the area. I had read online that it was a large, for Forks, shopping district.
My three friends nodded their heads.
"Mind if I tag along?"
