Spock and Alex

Chapter Twenty One

Spock was with Alex when they felt the ship being hit. Spock grabbed Alex as they fell onto their couch.
"What's going on?" Alex shouted.
"I don't know but I don't want to let you go," Spock said with concern. The ship was hit again. The red light began flashing in their room.
"Oh no," Alex said as she clutched her stomach.
"Alex," Spock said with concern.
"The baby's coming!" She screamed.
"Okay Alex, grab onto me and let's go," Spock said as Alex tried. They got to their monitor on the wall and Spock hailed the bridge.
"Jim you have to stop this if you want your niece born in Sickbay," Spock yelled over Alex's screaming.
"I-what? She's having the baby now?!?" Jim replied.
"Indeed captain. Perhaps the stress of this attack-" Spock said before he was cut off.
"Shut the hell up Spock and alert McCoy!" His wife screamed.
"I'll do my best Spock. Bones will be ready for you," Jim said. Spock gave up and picked Alex up bridal style. She was harder to carry now, but Spock was determined. The lights in the hallway flickered as they reached the turbolift. Spock was greeted by Bones and Chapel as he rushed out of the lift.
"How long ago did this happen," Bones asked as they got Alex on a bed.
"When the damn ship was attacked Bones," Alex yelled as she nearly broke Spock's hand.
"Understood," McCoy said as he got some supplies. The power flickered again.
"What is happening out there," Spock said through gritted teeth.
"I dunno but Alex start pushing," Bones said as he was ready for delivery.

An hour later, Spock wasn't the only Vulcan on the ship. Their daughter was here. Alex was holding her and Spock was right by them both.
Bones cleared his throat as he held a datapad.
"Does she finally have a name I can type?" He asked the new parents. Spock was holding their baby as he and Alex smiled at the doctor.
"Her name is Amanda," Spock smiled. Bones grinned.
"Amanda it is."

Jim finally made it a couple hours later. He was beaming when he saw the three.
"Congratulations! Where's my little niece?" He said gleefully.
"Right here Jim," Alex smiled as she had Amanda.
"She has Spock's ears," he teased.
"Let's hope she's as smart as he is," Alex added as Spock smiled at his wife.
"She's also a Kirk. She could be a captain someday," Spock remarked.
"Or a science officer," Jim teased.
"Would you like to hold her?" Alex asked her brother.
"What, we'll, I dunno," Jim stammered.
"Come on. You're her uncle Jim," Alex said as the captain caved. Alex helped him hold the baby.
Bones then walked in on the happy family and beamed.
"Well I never thought I'd see Jim holding a baby," he said as the captain looked at him.
"I guess you'll get used to it," Jim replied.

Spock walked Jim back outside of Sickbay.
"Jim, what was attacking the ship?" Spock asked, his tone back to serious.
"It's taken care of Spock."
"I need to know what was attacking. So I can protect my family, our family now," he pleaded as Jim sighed.
"It was the Skylar, but he wasn't alone. But they didn't survive this time. You'll be alright," Jim tried to reassure him.
"I'm worried she'll never be alright. My own childhood was complicated, let alone my own child-" Spock said nervously before the captain interrupted him.
"Spock, you have an entire ship on your side. Hell, I'll stop any alien that so much looks at her the wrong way. It takes a village, but you have one on your side Spock. Stop worrying. At least for now. Your father instincts will kick in I'm sure," Jim replied. Spock wasn't sure what to say so he just nodded his head. Just then the Sickbay doors opened as Bones came out.
"Your wife is hailing you Spock," Bones grinned. Spock nodded as he left them. Bones went up to Jim.
"How did he get so lucky," Bones sighed wistfully.
"I don't know," Jim said.
"Makes you think about it doesn't it?" Bones added.
"I don't think it's possible for me Bones."
"If that hobgoblin can play house so can you," Bones laughed as he put a hand on Jim's shoulder.

10/9/21 Note: She's finally here! :) I thought Amanda would be fitting for her. I think I'll also give her a Vulcan name too, but this name will be the main one. Plus, I don't know Vulcan, so I need to look up the language more 😂 I feel like this story is slowly close to being done. If I age up their baby, that means their time on the Enterprise is up so idk what I'm going to do next 🥲
