chapter 13

"Luca?" That named seemed so familiar, but the more I thought about it, the more my head started to hurt.
"I don't know who you are, please leave me alone." I begin to head towards the beach house, quickening my pace. He was going after me, trying to catch up.
"Wait! Don't you want to get your memories back?" What he says makes me stop. How does he know about that? I don't know him yet he knows me, so should I trust him? I turn back at him and see him standing there, a good distance away from me. He doesn't seem armed or threatening. I begin to slowly approach him.
"What do... know about me?" I hesitantly ask him.
"Everything. I am your boyfriend after all." He says with a smile. I flinch when he says that. Something is definitely off. The way he says that makes me uncomfortable. That guy is my boyfriend? What happened to the past me? I stop in my tracks.
"No, something is wrong. If you really were my boyfriend, why can't I remember you?"
"Come with me and I'll tell you everything." He reaches his hand out to me. Why is he alone? I start to look around but then, I feel a little needle hit my neck. Quickly, I take it out and my vision goes blurry. The only thing I hear before passing out is Steven, calling out to me.

"...Y/n..." Who is that? Where are they? I can't seem to see anything. The dark room, I'm here again. My name echos through it. I look around everywhere, but no light anywhere to be seen, unlike last time.
"...Y/n..." I hear it again. I can't seem to make out who that is. Steven? The gems? The stalker? What was his name again? I couldn't remember. Why? My name continues to echo more and more, louder and louder. I couldn't stand it anymore. I felt like my ears were in pain.
"Stop!!!"
I wake up with a gasp. Out of breath. Covered in cold sweat. Where am I? It's dark but I feel familiar with this room. It's Steven's room. Everything seems so quiet now, so who was calling out to me? I feel someone's hand holding mine. It's Steven! He seems to be asleep though. Did he stay by my side all this time? I smile to myself. Even if he's a huge douche, he can be sweet sometimes. I gently shake him and whisper.
"Steven, wake up." He grunts and slowly opens his eyes. Once he sees me awake, he jumps up and quickly hugs me, with leaves me surprised and confused.
"You have no idea how worried I was about you..." He doesn't seem to let go. What's gotten in to him? We haven't known each other for that long and he's already this attached to me? I thought he hated my guts. He begins to hug me tighter which makes my body hurt.
"Uh Steven? You're kind of squeezing me bud." I pat him on the back. Once I say that, he quickly pulls away.
"Sorry..." He apologizes.
"It's okay. So, how did I get back here?"

He explains everything to me. Steven was getting worried about me because I was gone for so long so he went looking for me. Luckily, he saw me not too far away from the beach house but then he noticed that I was talking to someone. I tried to get away but the stranger shot a drugged needle to my neck which knocked me out. Just as the stranger was about to pick me up, Steven grabbed me and jumped out of there. Jump high was a better idea since if he just started running towards the beach house, the stalker would have found us quicker and who knows what might have happened then.
"That's pretty smart, good job Universe." He nods back in response.
"What a weirdo. Do you remember anything he said to you?"
"Unfortunately, no. I can't seem to remember what he looks like or sounds like. But I have a feeling he's someone I knew before." I wasn't 100% sure, it was just a feeling.
"If he knows you and you know him, why would he drug you?" Steven finally decides to lie down next to me and I do the same.
"Good point, maybe my brain is just tricking me. Who knows." There was now silence between us. But for once, it wasn't uncomfortable.
"What a day, huh?" I break the silence anyways. I knew we both had something to say.
"Yeah..." Steven let's out a sigh.
"Hey Y/n? I'm uh, I'm sorry for kissing you this morning. I don't know what came over me, I just-"
"I know, I forgive you. Just make sure not to do it again." I smile at him. He nods and smiles back.
"And I'm sorry for always running away, I promise not to do it again either." Steven didn't bother answering and neither did I anymore. We were both tired and just wanted some rest.

Morning comes. I can hear Steven's alarm clock go off.
"Ugh, turn it off Universe." Nothing. Can he seriously not hear it? The alarm clock continues to ring.
"Steven! Turn it off!" I get irritated and get up, only to see that he's not there. Where is he? I turn off the alarm clock and get dressed, heading downstairs to see if he's in the living room or kitchen.
Also not there. Where could he have gone off to? I check outside and his garden but nothing. I get a little paranoid. He couldn't have abandoned me. Did he leave a note anywhere? Somewhere?! Ah, the fridge! I look to the fridge and just as I thought, there's a note.
'I have gone off to work, there's food in the fridge. If you need anything, go to little Homeworld. The other gems will help you. Be careful - Steven.'
I sign in relief. I wonder when he'll be back. I check the fridge and pull out whatever I could find to eat for now. It was a pretty sunny morning so I decided to just spend my whole day with the other gems in little Homeworld. Not wasting any more time, I head out and make sure to lock the house, just to be safe. Yesterday seems so fuzzy, I don't even know why I have to be careful. It doesn't take long for me to reach little Homeworld. All the gems wave at me hello as I wave back. I begin to feel confused. Where am I headed to? Do I know these gems? It all seems so familiar but I just can't wrap my head around it.
"Y/n! Glad to see you here today!" A voice calls out to me from behind. I can't recognize it. Three gems come running towards me, with smiles on their faces. Who are they?
"Hey! Is everything okay? You seem lost." The green one speaks. How do they know me? I stutter, not knowing what to say back.
"I-I just don't know where I am. Could you tell me what t-this place is?" Their confused expressions seem so familiar once again. The more I think about it, the more my head begins to hurt. I feel dizzy.

"What is this place? What are you talking about Y/n, you were just here yesterday!" Now the blue one speaks up. Her voice sounds so nice. My whole body starts to feel sweaty. All of them come closer to me.
"Y/n, you're not looking too good. We should get you checked out..." Before they get to touch me, my flames let loose, hurting them. But hurting me as well in the process. My whole body feels hot, I can't think straight. My vision becomes blurry. What's happening? Where am I? I can hear someone panicking. Yelling. Are they calling out to me? The constant ringing in my ears makes it hard for me to hear anything. It's so hot. My heart feels as if it's about to pop out of my chest. So heavy. I need to get out of here. Steven... Steven! He could help me. But where is he? I try to look for him but I only see the flames. Dizzy, I boost myself up in the air and jump around looking for him, destroying almost anything I land on. Everything is so heavy. I can barely see anything. I start to feel myself lose consciousness but I don't give up and keep looking. A sharp pain in my neck puts out all of my flames and sends me flying down. I pass out.

Thanks for reading! Sorry if this wasn't as exciting of a chapter but I'm kind of out of ideas. I'll definitely try to make the next chapter more interesting!
