2 YEARS LATER

The rattle of the train caused a small smile to cross your face, as the shushed mumble of chatter ran throughout the train. Rain splattered mindlessly against the glass from the familiar grey clouds above, shrouding London mercilessly, though the occasion beam of sunlight danced through the barrier.

"What stop are we getting off at?" your boyfriend asked from next to you, giving you a nudge. "We didn't come on this trip just to sit on a train, as far as I know."

"Next one, at Brockley." You responded plainly, still staring outside, at the city of concrete and generously granted green spaces.

"You seem very… dreamy," Adrien remarked, sliding closer to you, and leaning over your shoulder to try to see if he could see what you were seeing.

You couldn’t help yourself, and snorted, "Radiant, carefree, dreamy… Adrien, the fragrance," you drawled, flicking your hands around in circles to imitate sparkles.

"Stop that!" Adrien huffed, "You know how much I hated doing that advert!"

"It's just funny!" you cackled, before giving him a small shrug. "At least… you won't have to do it anymore, huh?"

Adrien softened, and he looked down at his lap, fiddling with the ring on his index finger. "I suppose so," he murmured, "now that I… I can't see him anymore."

You placed your hand over his, which caused him to flush slightly and look over at you. "You were incredible, Adrien," you assured. "I'm not going to say you did the right thing, doing what you did, but you were so brave. And I couldn't be more proud of you."

The blond shuffled closer to you. "I hope I did the right thing," he laughed shakily. "But it's been… strange, without him. I was so used to him controlling my every move, and now… now, after I found out…" his breath quickened, and he looked downwards, his brow furrowing.

"Hey, easy," you soothed him, and straightened his collar. "We don't need to think or talk about it. We're not here for you anyway, we're here for me," you dismissed, trying to lighten the mood.

"That's such a Chloé thing to say," Adrien chuckled.

"Well, back in the day, maybe, but she's definitely improved," you corrected him. “Even Marinette's slowly coming to like her, I caught Chlo posting a picture of them two hanging out together yesterday. Speaking of Marinette, I heard that she’s getting along quite well with that Luka guy, so hopefully that continues.”

"True," he agreed thoughtfully. "Though, I never imagined Chloé and Lucinda getting together. But, whatever, if they're happy, then that's all that matters."

You smiled vaguely, recalling the way Lucinda had slowly got into Chloé's head, and twisted into a lovesick mess, and vice versa. The two were now in a healthy relationship, with both of them now attending union meetings and assisting striking workers in Paris. Honestly, a power couple.

You frowned, suddenly wondering if Kagami was alright; for context, you'd met the Japanese girl shortly after officially starting to date Adrien. At first, you'd been your normal, hard-to-understand, British self, but you found a middle ground, since both of your cultures were pretty reserved. Through that, you found some similarities.
