NT. HELICARRIER MEDICAL ROOM DAY
[Barton is strapped down. Natasha watches over him as Barton tries to shake off Loki's mind control.]
NATASHA: Clint, you're gonna be alright.
[Natasha remembered this conversation and dreaded it being played on the screen as if she was about to go through a torture session. Clint squeezed her hand for a moment before letting go to assure her.]
CLINT BARTON: You know that? Is that what you know? I got...I gotta go in though. I gotta flush him out.
NATASHA: We don't have that long, it's gonna take time.
CLINT BARTON: I don't understand. Have you ever had someone take your brain and play? Pull you out and send something else in? Do you know what it's like to be unmade?
NATASHA: You know that I do.
[Almost everyone was puzzled by this statement because Natasha's past was unknown to them, while Tony sent her sympathy which she hated, and Fury's face remained as usual, but he nodded respectfully to her.]
CLINT BARTON: Why am I back? How did you get him out?
NATASHA: Cognitive recalibration. I hit you really hard in the head.
<I guess Daisy didn't have to research or find a cure.>remarked Peter.
CLINT BARTON: Thanks. (Natasha unfastens the RESTRAINTS) Tasha, how many agents?
NATASHA: Don't. Don't do that to yourself, Clint. This is Loki. This is monsters and magic and nothing we were ever trained for.
CLINT BARTON: Loki, he got away?
NATASHA: Yeah. I don't suppose you know where?
CLINT BARTON: I didn't need to know. I didn't ask. He's gonna make his play soon though. Today.
NATASHA: We gotta stop him.
CLINT BARTON: Yeah? Who's we?
NATASHA: I don't know. Whoever's left.
CLINT BARTON: Well, if I put an arrow in Loki's eyesocket, I'd sleep better I suppose.
NATASHA: Now you sound like you.
<You guys need treatment.>said Tony only to get pinched by peppers elbow.
[Natasha sits next to her partner and friend.]
CLINT BARTON: But you don't. You're a spy, not a soldier. Now you want to wade into a war. Why? What did Loki do to you?
NATASHA: He didn't, I just... (SHE PAUSES)
CLINT BARTON: Natasha.
NATASHA: I've been compromised. I got red in my ledger. I'd like to wipe it out.
[Clint was trying to find the words to convince Natasha that the red in her ledger isn't hers. He realized something that made worries wash over him, filling his mind with the worst possible scenarios, and flushing out any remnants of Loke's mind control.]
CLINT BARTON: Natasha? [in questioning but quiet tone.]
<That didn't happen. I didn't the conversation should have ended> Clint, informs.
[He stops, knowing the answer he will get to his question will be a bad one, one he doesn't want to hear. He remembered Coulson's advice: "Don't ask a question you don't want the answer to", but whatever happened to Daisy, he would probably hear about it eventually.]
CLINT BARTON: Where is Daisy?
NATASHA: [Reading clints thoughts] Yes, she is still alive and she hasn't been injured.
CLINT BARTON: [takes a sigh of relief] what is the but Nat?
NATASHA: Clint, Coulson didn't make it. Loki stabbed him in the back with the scepter, he went down fighting like he always wanted, the time for his death was one hour ago. I'm so sorry, Clint.
<Well, in this universe, you weren't the one to tell me that Coulson died.>Clint told Natsha exteremly bitter
< I didn't know how you would react after what Loki and his scepter did to you.> defended Natasha.
<Well from what I saw I took it well, I reacted to it goddamn well Natasha.>shouted Clint
<Dont fight kids.>said Tony loudly.
[Both Natasha and Clint stopped because they understood each other's point of view. It was just one of those remarks that had to be said.]
[she stood and put her hand on Clint's shoulder and gave him time to process.] Daisy went to the code ciphering chamber. She lost control for a Fenton second maybe even less but I thought you should know.
[Clint is still in shock, but he tries to get up to go to Daisy, which is a massive mistake since he is still strapped. Natasha undoes the strap as he tries to get up.]
NATASHA: It's not a good idea to go, Daisy is best able to process trauma when she's on her own.
<I don't think that's healthy> says, Peter.
<It is not kid.>said, Tony.
[Both Clint and Natasha stare at the wall as memories of them and Coulson play over and over again in their minds.]
Not necessary to read
-------Tony knows about Natasha's past because although it is not cannon it made sense to me that after her whole undercover Natalia Rushman fiasco he would do very thorough research and in the black widow elated scene Ross talks like that the government discovered about the red room after Clint and Nat supposedly took I tout my point is there must have been files of the red room somewhere.----------
Extremely sorry for the very long delay and for this incredibly short chapter.
I am not abandoning this story but I can't promise a steady update.
Thanks to everyone who has read voted or commented and stayed even after this incredibly long absence.
I know I am late but Happy new year and hopefully, 2022 will be good for you and all of us may you stay safe.
