Aspirations
Chapter 25There was a moment between sleep and awake where everything was blissful. All of the worries and stress you experienced on a day to day basis were locked away. Anything important or pressing didn't matter. You simply existed in a safe and warm cocoon made of sheets, blankets, and limbs. You took slow, even breaths as your consciousness seeped to the forefront like a gentle tide rolling in.
You were in bed with Aizawa. Again.
His hand felt so large against your stomach. It wasn't like you were the smallest girl out there either; and yet the strength and size of his hand made you feel like it. The more you breathed the more aware you were of each digit.
You closed your eyes as you tried to decide how you felt about that. Awkward was a good word for sure; conflicted was also very apt. You had told him that you could help him and Toshinori (along with the rest of the staff) but, other than the usual, you hadn't thought Aizawa would have taken you up on that offer after he'd been so disapproving over helping Endeavor and Toshinori. He had seemed so disapproving over the idea of you using your quirk so exhaustively in their cases. Yet there he was right behind you after you'd spent a night making his bones as good as new. Though the fact that he was still in your bed might have been your fault, at least in part. After finishing with the non-essential repairs, you'd been so tired that you hadn't even thought about waking him up when you'd finished. Instead you had simply fallen asleep next to him.
The kicker of it all was that it wasn't even like you'd healed recently broken bones either. Most of what you'd worked on had been broken during the USJ event and healed shortly after. Though he had a few areas that had been older repairs, the ones from USJ had outnumbered the ones from all the prior years combined. The fact of the matter was that they'd been old wounds. Ones that didn't really impede his abilities. So it wasn't really even necessary for you to remove the evidence that they'd once been broken. It definitely hadn't been an emergency.
So why? Why was he okay with you healing his non-necessary not-wounds...but fought so hard against you helping others?
Because hypocrisy runs strongly in heroes.
You squeezed your eyes closed and pushed the thought aside. It might have been true that heroes got a complex every now and again as they were allowed special privileges, but it was also true that they used those privileges to help others. Speaking of others, you were going to need to message Toshinori. There was no way you could do a healing session with him later later. Not after acquiescing to Aizawa's request. You needed some time for your body to level back out and convert what you'd eat today. Plus your brain was tired from the level of concentration you had to keep up while attending to the slumbering teacher behind you.
...Oh shit...
...you hadn't set your alarm.
He was totally late to work.
Goosebumps rose to your skin as you felt his warm breath against your shoulder blades. He'd taken up the middle center of your bed while you had remained where normal, civilized people slept. But probably only because he had claimed the middle before you had the chance.
"Aizawa," you called out in a firm tone.
Did he just huff? It sure felt like a huff.
"You're late for class."
"Students left this morning," he mumbled out against your back.
Good, because his lips brushing up against your spine sent a sensation racing through your nervous system that definitely wouldn't have been appropriate around students. You squeezed your eyes closed again. You needed to clamp down on your hormones. And you needed to do it before the man behind you realized the internal struggle you were having. You could only imagine how awkward and judgmental Aizawa would get if found out just how quick your libido reared its head. The friction of the light scruff on his chin brushing against the top of your sports bra didn't help either.
