Chapter 9

Shalini pov

My nightmare came true , I could recognise that posture easily, it was Adithya . I should have left to my cabin by the minute the lunch break got over. I don't know what the devil will do to me now . He was seething in anger , his eyes grew into a dark shade one . I turn and saw Varun ,the frightened look in my face mirrored on his face too. We both gulped at the same time.

'Shalini, come and meet me in the cabin,' he shrieked and got into the elevator. Soon i did what he expected me to do , I went to his cabin . He was standing near a bookshelf which was right across the corner of the room .

'Shalini evalo neram angeye nippa , get in' he Said.

I took baby steps and went inside his room .

' you got shiny friends I see ' he turned around after saying this , his looks were so intimidating. No words left my mouth I watched him as his eyes burned in me until he cleared his throat .

' ye- yeah Meghna introduced them.' I slightly stuttered .

'nice, why did you talk with Varun?'. he asked in a furious tone .

'I can talk to him what bothers you, Adithya .'

'I didn't Say it bothers me but why were you talking to him , exchanging phone numbers, huh? ' he took two steps forward to me but i took a step back but then i realised i'm standing near the door and I can't take further steps backwards .

' were you watching me this whole time Adithya, why are you interrogating me like I did a crime now ?'

' i'm not interrogating you Shalini , don't ever talk to him ever again, understand?' he took a step forward and the proximity between us became a little less, but good enough to not to touch each other . the words he just spitted out triggered my anger.

' Adithya you don't have to tell me to whom i'm supposed to talk with or order me to whom i shouldn't talk with , you're just my boss and i'm your employee you have no business to control me over my personal life understand it Adithya .' I stormed out in anger.

I didn't wait for his reply. I walked away from the room and slammed the door with a loud thud . I sat on my seat while staring at the wall above me . God won't you let me have one good day? , i was happy moments ago and now the tables turned. I cursed the devil multiple times inside my head. , I almost lost the count .

I wanted to steal a last glance at his sight , I slightly turned my head to see what he was doing. The second I turned I regretted why I did that , he looked up grinning like a devil and pressed the buttons near the glass door which separated us, soon the glass disappeared and the metal door came to my view .

I huffed in relief, maybe in a little annoyance too. But the thing is i don't know what to do next . Great day I muttered to myself and started to fiddle the pen with my fingers.

It's been 3 hours sitting with no works staring at the blank wall and longing stares seeing his room being closed. I wish I could see what the hell he is doing right now . My thoughts always crawl back to him. How can he be this infuriatingly good looking , but he is a bad person the surrounding aura always warns me .

Quickly interrupting my thoughts, my phone buzzed , it was Varun who texted me . Should I text him back or not ? i will text him , I will do the opposite of what adithya wants me to do .

V: hi Shalini, this is Varun :)

Sk: hi Varun , didn't expect you to text me this soon .

V: expect the unexpected

Sk: haha, bigg boss

V: want to catch up tomorrow, maybe a coffee ??

I didn't know what to text him after this, just a cup of coffee. We're friends anyhow it will be nice I thought.

Sk: sure

V: at 6 cafe coffee day?

Sk: that's great.

V: what doing?

SK: no work , on energy saving mode

V: ooh did Adithya scold you ? He is a cold-hearted man ,so be a lil bit careful with him . He has a bad temper too. I am worried that you're stuck with him.

What should I tell him that he warned me ,no, threatened me not to talk with you .

Sk :no he didn't scold , I know varun I will be fine . Carry on will talk later .

V: you can text me anytime. It's always open for you.

Sk: thanks varun literally you lightened up my gloomy day .

V: on your service ma'am :)

Sk : byee!!

V: byee

Varun seems like a very good guy, but why adithya doesn't like him ? Yeah , how can I ignore this fact? , he don't like good people like me , Varun , Maaran anna and many more . I soon called Avanthika to check whether she is free this evening , it's been a long day since I met her .

'So , adithya va unnaku pudikala ?' avanthi asked

'Avara yaruku pudikum sollu , cold hearted devil ' i muttered

'Oi avaruku enna nick name la vachiruka Shalini ? devil nice name though , did he behaved that rudely to you? He looks like that but i have attended a business meeting with him , he seemed like a calm and collective guy . not much of talker but dedicated . ' she Said . i scoffed in annoyance at her remarks about him .

'Avanthi he seems like that but he is pure evil ' I blurted

'Shalini look at me , you need this job desperately , don't bother him do you understand ? 'she asked me while holding my hand in hers to comfort me .

I nodded in response . I need to accept myself in the new environment and try to fit in it , i thought .
