Part 15

It was hard falling asleep that night. The picture haunted you, leaving you to wonder exactly what had happened earlier in Jensen's life. Tossing and turning, you couldn't help but imagine the pain that Jensen had probably gone through, and how it had shaped him into the man he was today.

As you struggled to get ready in the morning, you couldn't help but feel anxious about the day ahead. About seeing Jensen in his kitchen the first morning living together. But not only that. How could you face him, when you knew part of his secret. A secret he might never want you to know about. How could you be in the same room as him and not pull him into your arms, offering him the comfort he might not even want.

"Y/N, we've gotta get going!" Jensen exclaimed, pounding lightly on your door before moving down the hallway. It was true. You had a busy day on set, followed by your engagement photo shoot. Taking a deep breath, you stepped out into the hallway, following the smell of coffee to the kitchen.

"Hey sleepyhead," he smiled at you, pouring coffee into two travel mugs. "Cream, sugar?"

"Just cream please," you answered, hiding behind a yawn.

Handing one of the mugs over, he pulled open the door of the fridge. "We don't have much for breakfast. I normally grab something from catering. Maybe later we can go to the grocery store? Pick up whatever you like."

You nodded, following him out of the kitchen and out of the apartment to the elevator. You were relieved that he seemed so chipper this morning. It calmed your nerves slightly, and you were able to smile a little bit more as you climbed into the sleek black SUV.

"Morning lovebirds," Clif winked in the rearview mirror before driving off. Jensen pulled out his phone, quickly typing away, leaving you to sit back and watch as the scenery passed by.

"So, we have a busy morning of filming then our photographs. And then I have something scheduled for tonight," Jensen looked up from his phone. "Clif will drive you to the store, and then home if that is okay."

You nodded just as the studio came into view. Once parked, Jensen climbed out of the SUV, coming around to open your door. "I'll see you around," he smiled, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek before taking off.

"Listen, I know what's going on," Clif said as he came around the side of the car. "But I've been around Jensen for a long time. And I haven't seen him this happy in a long time. You're good for him."

Taking a deep breath, you made your way to the small room far off to the side where lowly PA's like you kept your purses, coats, and whatever else you needed to store throughout the day. The room was empty, and you quickly shoved your purse and coat inside before rushing towards the catering tent.

With only a couple of moments, until you were needed to help set up, you grabbed a doughnut and another cup of coffee. As you started to round the corner, you could hear some of the other girls talking quietly amongst themselves.

"I've heard it's all a lie," Emmy, one of the other PA's was saying. "That they needed someone to cover for him because he's in love with Jared."

"Eww, no way," Another, who you thought might be Kelly, sounding disgusted. "I heard that she had dirt on Jensen, so they did this to appease her."

"I don't know what it is, but if we can figure it out, the press would eagerly pay," the third girl, one you hadn't even met yet, said. "Keep your eyes and ears open girls. Because there is no way a girl like her would land someone like Jensen."

You turned and left the other way, hoping they didn't see you before you rounded the corner. You knew there would be talk. That you would be the butt of many jokes. But you didn't like the fact that they were trying to ruin it for Jensen just for money. If they found out the truth, it could not only hurt him personally, but it could ruin his career.

You were furious that people could be so self-centered and rude. Fuming, you didn't watch where you were going and ran straight into Jared. Glancing up as he caught you from falling down, your eyes widened at the blood covering his face, the gashes in his skin. It took you a moment to remember it was only makeup.

"You okay?" He asked, his hands rubbing up and down your shoulder. "You seem annoyed."

"Freaking gossips," you muttered. "Just overheard a bunch of PA's wanting to start trouble."

He rolled his eyes. "I told Jensen this would happen. People can never leave well enough alone. Hopefully, they're just full of hot air."

Sighing, you nodded. "I can handle whatever they throw at me. I just don't want anything to hurt Jensen or his reputation."

Jared's smile grew wide, and you stepped back, wondering what was going through his mind. "You really care for him, don't you?"

You refused to answer. Not only because you didn't want to say anything that could backfire, but also because you weren't completely sure of your feelings yourself. Because you could feel yourself falling for Jensen.

Jared patted your shoulder. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."

He let you pass, and you continued on your way to the set that was going to be used today. "Y/N!" Jared called out. "Don't let the jealousy of the girls scare you away. They're not the ones going home with Jensen tonight."

Your cheeks blazing, you walked into the building, hoping that your day would be busy enough that people wouldn't have time to look for trouble.

You were right. It was an extremely busy morning. Filming went smoothly for once, no hijinks from the boys. You worked hard, cleaning up the blood, the broken glass after each scene. Staying off to the side, making sure that everyone had coffee, water, whatever they wanted. You ran any errands they wanted, but when you could, you watched Jensen work.

He was an amazing actor. After playing a character for so long, he could have slept through his scenes. But he gave every line, every moment of the scene as much as he could. And you couldn't help but be amazed by it.

"That's a wrap for now," the director called out, and you could feel your nerves start to rise again. You weren't exactly sure you were ready for engagement photos. They were intimate and personal, and you weren't sure you could handle being that close to Jensen without turning into a blushing idiot.
