Is this what it came to, crying yourself to sleep in the woods? Did the stars laugh when your consciousness drifted away? The bags under your eyes were heavy and dark. You knew you didn't sleep well, if you could you would have curled back up and avoided the sun. To let the shadows run their fingers across your skin. To avoid the light that your body craves. What would a person do to destroy themselves? Have you carved out all of your heart?
You thought you did. You thought you had cut the heads off of the flowers. You thought you left the stems to drown in their poisoned water. Had the knife you carved into your chest not cut away from your love? You thought you had shattered the heart you were born with. You caressed his face with the gentleness you would a child.
You couldn't understand why you had grown to care about a person again. Part of you wished to leave, abandon everything again. To cut the strings that tied your hands together. What a beautiful fire it would be. You could watch as the forest fire of yourself burned and tore you apart. You could watch yourself die, you would be the witness, the victim, and the murder. You would sentence yourself to pure and utter freedom. The glass body your soul encompassed would crack and shatter, no one would remember you after a while, would they?
Yet the crimson string being severed would be the closest to complete destruction you could get. If you were to die, if you were to let your body be consumed by raging flames. If you let the golden fire kiss you as you died, N would experience it too. To kill the connection would be killing you would kill the other half. To kill one would kill the other. Your souls had been tied together too tightly for them to be severed so suddenly. The death of one would surely leave the world rotting and boiling over in its own blood.
You kissed him again. You let yourself kiss him awake to kiss the cheeks that had now dried of tears, you let your hands run through his hair. The poison that ran through your blood was the same curse as his. Your poisoned heart could only be loved by another with the same curse. You have created something that you can now never destroy. Now with the poison dripping and consuming your thoughts, you let your selfishness consume you now. You held him, you kissed him until it was time to leave.
You watched from the trees. You waited until you learned the patterns of the people. You watched as they laughed and talked proudly of their discoveries. The way they held up scarlet blood as if they had been the ones to discover the kingdom of gold. You suck in at night.
The weak and tired pokemon strapped down to a table, vials, and tubes surrounding them. They were drugged, dazed, and confused. They were unable to properly move or think. You didn't even want to guess if they had been fed. You embraced them. You made them feel as if their creator had blessed them once again. You looked so divine to the desperate and pleading pokemon begging for death or salvation.
Yet everything went downhill so fast. The alarms blared as you tugged them from the table. As N's arms supported them as you ripped needles from their body. You stumbled as you pushed and pulled them from the car. Caitlin stood there shocked as she saw you and N, as she saw the strange mysterious pokemon.
Venipede attacked her, he charged and ran at her. He clawed, he scratched and ripped at the pokemon who drew close to you. You stumbled as a bell fell from your pocket onto the ground. When you saw the greedy hands reach down to grab it you moved not knowing why. You sunk your teeth into his arm and swiped the bell up. The silver metal seemed to glow and the sweet echoing ring made the pokemon and people freeze.
Flowers thousands sprouted at once. They glowed as they did in the cave, you stepped back. Escaping as the vines and Virizion screamed and attacked. The pokemon seemed to glow, their body stood tall and their knees buckled slightly but held firm and they spoke. They demanded that you climb on their back. You did, you let yourself climb onto them and you called venipede to your side. N's arms wrapped around your waist as Virizion ran.
They leaped and dashed up into the trucks they hooped with the grace of a dancer as their attacks struck down their targets with perfect marks. They seemed so elegant as they dashed through the camp and down the street. They, to all of your confusion, didn't return to the cave, but they ran to a car that the trees told them about. They needed to get the car before the people who weren't supposed to be in the expedition tried to come after you.
Pokemon attacks rained down on you. Your grip held firm. You held tightly to Virizion's neck. You clung to them and N clung to you. Even as panicked tears ran down your face and your chest heaved with labored breaths you begged to the divine that Virizion could get you as far as they could. Their hooves hit heavily against the dirt. They kicked up dust and grass as they ran down the street.
You knew not of where they were going. Yet you begged that someone could come to your rescue. You knew that Virizion was straining themselves. Their steps were wobbly as their powerful legs punched the ground as they ran. They held firm even as they buckled and stumbled, struggling to hold themselves and the three of you up.
You could hear the cars start, you could hear them running. You couldn't bear to look back. With your eyes screwed shut you faced forwards and let Virizion lead you to safety with headlights appeared and Virizion's leg buckled, you were sent stumbling tossed into the air. The car didn't stop in time. With a deafening crack and a scream from multiple parties, you landed on the windshield.
You are burned with stabbing pain and you screamed with pain as the glass dug into your body. Searing pain, fragmented glass, and liquid life pooling from your woods as a bone stuck out from your arm you tried to move. Your unbroken arm reached forward to the street in front of you. N lay battered and bloody on the ground struggling to keep his eyes open. Virizion laid beside him.
You winced as people stood in front of you and the car. They pulled you from the hood, panicking voices spinning together. They laid you beside N and Virizion. Warm hands brushed across you and they sobbed and gasped. You couldn't remember what happened next.
Everything went dark after that. It wasn't painful after that. You didn't feel the burning pain and the deadly feeling of cold. Just like that, it all melted away feeling something akin to a dream. You wondered if this was death, or at least what it felt like. It was so calm, so gentle, so caring. You were told that it was violent and heartless. Not caring about what or who it took.
