Luz lay on the couch as she read from a pamphlet about Hexside, labeled "Hexside Facts and Trivia." On the back was a portrait of Principal Bump along with the quote, "Education is the real magic."
"King, listen to this!" Luz squealed. King, who was laying on Luz's stomach, turned to her, pawing at her arm. "Hey! Less ready, more scratchy!" He demanded. The human sat up, accidently knocking the demon off. "Sorry! Now that I'll be a student at Hexside, I wanna learn all about it! I've got a new crush, and her name is Education!" Luz announced, shoving the pamphlet in King's face. The demon bit the paper, tearing it apart as the door was kicked open.
Eda peered inside, a wide grin on her face. "Hey freeloaders! Guess what today is?" she asked. Luz sat up. "Is it your birthday?!" she asked excitedly. "Is it my birthday?" King added.
"It's MY birthday!" Hooty hooted, as Eda slammed the door shut. "No! It's human treasure day!" The owl lady announced, tossing the Portal Door into the air. It unfolded and opened, as Owlbert flew through dragging giant sack. The sack tore when he flipped it onto the floor, revealing a pile of human garbage.
Eda hopped onto the garbage, sighing blissfully. "Ahh, fresh garbage."
King scurried over, bouncing up and down in excitement. "Ooo, gimme gimme gimme!" he squealed, pulling out a teddy bear from the pile. "Yes! Another worthy addition to my army of terror!" He cackled. Pulling a string on the back of the bear, the bear spoke. "I love cuddles and kisses!"
King smiled evilly. "Truly horrifying!"
Eda noticed her student still reading the pamphlet. "Yo, kid. Your trash pile's getting cold. While mine is getting hot!" The witch exclaimed, pulling out a wire clothes hangar, holding it up like a trophy. "I've never seen such an extravagant earring!"
Luz didn't bother looking up. "You can have my trash." She said, before gasping. "Whoa! Did you know that Hexside was built on the bones of its rival school? One it literally conquered!"
The human showed Eda and King a picture of a young Principal Bump holding a flag as flames and Hexside students surrounded him.
Eda was now wearing both the clothes hangars as earrings and looking in a mirror. She nodded dismissively. "Yes i know all these things, i went there. It was the most harrowing period of my life." She said, as she styled her hair. "Oh, hello!"
Luz ignored her statement, lowering the pamphlet as she was lost in her thoughts. "Can you imagine it! Me, in the halls of Hexside, studying with Willow and gus and Hazel and-maybe even Amity!" The human gasped once again as she dropped the pamphlet. "Amity! Oh crafty! Amity, Hazel and I were supposed to meet so I can get my Azura book back!" Luz ran out, slamming the door before reopening it. "I love you guys!" She called, slamming the door again on Hooty wishing her a good day.
Eda watched her go, humming in thought. "I don't know about that Hazel kid. Luz should be more careful around her." She muttered. King popped out of the pile, wearing human pants on his head like a crown. "Why's that?" He asked curiously. The Owl Lady looked back to the door. "The Emperor Coven is after her, even Lillith. She must be hiding something important if they have HER after the kid."
King shrugged, pulling out his bear. "Either way, this bear could be our new student!" he pulled the string on the bear's back once again. "Being without you is just unbearable." The bear joked. The small demon threw the bear in rage. "No! You're unbearable!" he shrieked.

Hazel was hanging out with Amity, Edric and Emira. The two twins had disappeared, most likely waiting to pull a prank on someone as they waited for Luz, leaving Amity and Hazel to browse through the market. Hazel pointed to
"Hey Amity! Hazel! Luz is finally here!"
The two girls, who were standing side by side, looked at the approaching human. Edric and Emira suddenly appeared in front of Luz, surprising her enough to fall to the ground. Amity groaned as she approached the two giggling witches. "Edric! Emira! Stop bothering her! Sorry, Luz, they insisted on coming for some reason." The green-haired witch apologised as she helped Luz to her feet. Hazel walked over to the four, as Emira squished Amity's face. "Because we love you baby sister!" She said in a baby voice, before being shoved off by said baby sister.
"They've been extra protective and nice towards me to make up for the library incident."
"And we still apologise everyday."
Amity shoved her brother away, reaching into her bag and pulling out Luz's book. "Anyway, here's your book." Passing the book to the human, Luz grinned. "So, what'd you think?"
Amity shrugged. "It was...fine." She replied simply. Luz opened her book, pulling out a drawing. "So fine you drew yourself with Malingale the Mysterious Soothsayer?" She chuckled.
Hazel couldn't help but join in. Amity blushed, destroying the drawing with a spell circle.
Luz clutched her book tightly in excitement. "This is great! Maybe we could start an Azura club at school when we're classmates! Hazel, you wanna join?" The human asked her friend excitedly. Amity paused at Luz's statement. "When we're what?" She asked, raising a brow. Luz's grin widened. "Surprise!" Pulling out a pamphlet, she waved it around to show Amity. "I'm enrolling at Hexside!"
Amity took the pamphlet from the human, taking a closer look with a sad look. "Oh! Uh, sorry, but to be in our class, you need to take a placement exam and prove that you've mastered two spells." The green haired witch stated, showing Luz the requirements on the pamphlet.
Hazel stared at the pamphlet. Of course, she'd gotten in without any of that. She snuck in, used her shapeshifting ability and went with the flow, and thankfully nobody noticed her. She felt bad about it now.
Amity continued. "I know you have your light thing. Uh, do you know anything else?"
Luz started to mentally freak out, mumbling, "Placement exam? Spells?" To herself. The twins came up from behind Amity, Edric placing a hand on her shoulder. "Quite giving her a hard time, Mittens." Emira stated. Edric nodded as he added. "Yeah, of course she knows two spells. Right, Luz?"
The human chuckled nervously, waving her hand. "Yeah. 'Course I know two spells!" She exclaimed, as Amity turned to the pamphlet around. "Because if you don't they'll put you in the baby class."
Handing the pamphlet back, Luz stared down in worry at it, realising it was flipped to the baby class page.
Edric gasped as he knelt in front of Amity. "Ooh! Brain idea!" He yelled excitedly, as Emira leant on Amity's back, trapping her between them. Hazel moved out of their way just in time.
"What if we all trained together? We could show off what we know!" Emira added.
"Hazel's tagging along too! What do you say, Luz?"
Luz stumbled for a reply. "Uh, actually, I have other training plans in a very far away place that I have to go to right now." She marched on the spot for a moment, before speeding off. "Bye!"
The four witches watched her go, til Edric turned to Hazel. "So you still coming today?"

Hazel sat on a rock, watching the Blight twins teach Amity a new spell. The green-haired witch was currently using a training wand, and Emira guidded her to shoot at a rock in the distance. "Try and hit that rock." she instructed. Amity nodded, creating a purple fireball. Hazel leaned forward as Amity took aim, before firing. There was a yelp, as two people in the way of the fireball took cover. Hazel winced, as Amity apologised to the unknown people. "Sorry, whoever's over there!"
There were a few grumbles from behind the rock, and Edric scratched his chin in thought. "Wait, was that Luz?" he said out loud. Emira gasped. "Oh my titan, it is! Luz!" she called. Hazel watched as Luz rose up from behind the rock, waving back nervously. A second figure appeared close behind. "Hi, Eda!" The demon called out, and the twins turned to her. "You know Luz's mentor?" Edric asked curiously. Hazel chuckled. "Well, yeah. I've had, uh, a sleep over at Luz's house recently." She said. Getting up to avoid further questions that could result in her accidentally telling them about the Emperor's Coven.
Wandering over to Luz and Eda, Amity by her side, Hazel could faintly hear the human talking to her mentor in a hushed whisper. "....the baby class!"
Amity's ears perked up. "What's that about a baby class?" she asked curiously. Eda cleared her throat, standing up. "Only that it's for babies and Luz here clearly isnt a baby." She grinned, turning to a glaring Luz. "Nailed it." The witch whistled, walking away from the trio as Hazel turned to her friend. Luz leaned against a rock, slipping and posing on the ground. "Amity! Hazel! Wha...what are you two doing here?" she asked nervously.
"I came to watch Amity train! She's almost mastered the spell, and it looks amazing!" she said enthusiastically. Amity blushed a little, rubbing her arm. "I'm not that great. I'm still trying to beat Ed and Em's highest score on the exam." she explained. Ed and Em popped up behind her. "Aw, Mittens. That's impossible!" She stated matter of factly. Edric nodded in agreement. "She still needs to use a training wand to learn new spells. Not as "amazing" as you think it is." he chuckled, ruffling Hazel's hair before turning to Luz. "So what are you working on? Something powerful?"
Hazel glared at the twin for a moment, smoothing her hair down as Luz sweated nervously before answering. "Yup! Powerful spells! I'm workin' on one that's so crazy! Eda's a pretty incredible teacher." As she said this, Eda walked over, carrying a basket full of snowballs as she called for her student. "Luz! I should now teach you how to identify different types of snow- by taste!" she announced, holding out a snowball. Luz ignored her, and Hazel couldn't help but smile at Eda shoving the balls of snow in the human's face.
Edric and Emira watched on in confusion. "Is this some kind of...special magic?" Emira asked incredulously. Hazel laughed. "I guess you could say it is. You see, humans don't have bile sacks like witches do-" the demon was about to continue when Emira waved her hand in front of her. "Yeah, yeah, we know. This is just kind of...weird." she said in a whisper. Amity cleared her throat. "i don't think the Owl Lady wants to show us any of her powerful spells." She stated, leaving them.
Eda pointed to her mouth full of snowballs, her student trying her hardest to ignore. Swallowing the snow in her mouth, she groaned. "Ooh! Brain freeze! Brain freeze!" She yelped. Luz closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose in utter disappointment.
Emira smiled as her brother picked up a clump of snow from the ground. "See you around, human! Good luck with your, uh, training." she said, slapping the clump of snow away from Edric, who was about to lick it before dragging him away. Hazel watched them go a moment, turnign back to Luz and smiling reassuringly. "I'm sure you can figure it out, Luz. In your own "Luz way"."
With that, she followed the Blight children to watch them practise more.

Amity read from the "Magic 101" book, aiming her wand at a tree and drawing a spell circle with it. The produced fireball destroys the tree, and the battery light flashed. Hazel clapped her hands excitedly. "That was epic! Great job, Amity! You'll be mastering that spell in no time!" she encouraged. Ed and Em chuckled, before doing the exact same spell, showing it off by doing tricks. Amity huffed in annoyance.
"Hey, Hazel! Why don't you show us one of the spells you know?" Edric asked. Hazel's eyes widened in surprise, waving her hands in front of her. "Uh, n-no thanks! I-i'd much rather watch you today." She chuckled nervously. The twin shrugged. "If you say so." The twin stated, just as a snowball struck his face, knocking him to the ground. Amity cackled, dusting snow off her gloves.
Edric grinned, getting to his feet as he scrunched a bunch of snow in his palm. "Oh, it is so on Mittens."
Throwing the clump of snow at his little sister, Amity dodged it, summoning an abomination to help her throw more snow as well as for a barrier. Emira and Edric took cover as the abomination started throwing large clumps of snow at them. Hazel quickly ducked behind a rock, collecting and preparing her own snowballs.|Peeking out, she was struck in the face by one of Emira's snowballs, knocking her to the ground. The twins chuckled, running over to her and began to pelt her. "Nooo!" Hazel giggled, trying to get up but to no avail.
That is, until a large amount of snow dropped on the Blight twins from above, covering them completely. Amity stood above them, her abomination towering over her as she smiled smugly at the fallen trio.

The four had set up a camp now, sheltering all their belongings if an unexpected snow storm arose.
Hazel was sitting on a rock nearby the Blight twins, watching with awe as Amity sent a jet of fire at Edric with the training wand. He dodges it, and Emira summoned an arm of snow to attack Amity. She easily blocks and destroys it with her shield, dispelling it and waving at Luz on the hill.
Edric uses this distraction to make Amity sink in the snow until only her hand is showing.
Hazel giggled at the sight, getting up and helping Amity out of the snow.

Edric held a bat, holding it tightly as it tried to escape his grasp. Hazel stood next to him, grinning widely as the older Blight took it to the tent. "I caught a bat!" he announced, holding it above his head. Amity, who'd been practising, groaned as she placed her wand and book down in the tent before walking over to them. "Edric, don't eat that." She said tiredly. Edric chuckled. "Why can't we eat it?" He asked. Hazel began chanting "Keep it! Keep it! Keep it!"
Emira, who was cooking, looked up at the two. "Don't encourage him, Hazel."
Marching over to her twin brother and friend, she held out her hand. "Ed, give me the bat." she ordered. Edric shook his head . "No! If we're not gonna eat it, I wanna keep it as a pet!" He cried, running off with the small critter. Emira and Amity started chasing him, Hazel not too far behind still chanting. "Keep it! Keep it!"
"Get back here before that thing bites you!"
They eventually caught up to Edric, forcing him to release the bat. Hazel and Edric bid it a sad goodbye. Their goodbye was disturbed, though, when a firework went off in the sky. Hazel glanced up, confused. "That's weird." The twins nodded in agreement, before a loud explosion and an angered roar sounded out from their camp.
The four rushed back to find Eda in the Slitherbeast's grasp, Luz standing nearby with Amity's training wand and book. "Luz! Are you ok?!" Hazel called, before looking up at Eda. "Eda! Oh titan! We're gonna get you down from there!" she yelled.
Amity turned to Luz. "What are you doing with my wand?" She interrogated, snatching the objects from the human. Luz couldn't think of a reply, as Emira walked over and placed a hand on her sister's shoulder. "Mittens, we goot bigger problems."
Hazel looked up to follow her gaze, where the Slitherbeast was slowly advancing on them, growling menacingly as it still had Eda in one claw. Emira and Edric ran in front of the three 14 year olds, observing the demon before them. "Aw, he'sso cute. Can we keep him?" Emira asked. Edric shrugged. "It's no bat, but we could try." He noted. With that, they both cast a spell circle, lassoing at the Slitherbeast's hands. It growled loudly and pulled at the bonds, causing the Bligth twins to struggle.
"You got it! Now finish it off!" Eda yelled. Amity charged forward. "I'm on it!" Casting a spell with her wand, she gasps as it failed. "What?" Smacking the wand against her hand, Amity then noticed the low battery light. She turned angrily to Luz. "Did you use this all up?"
Luz fiddled with her hands, looking guilty. "I...i didn't know!"
Edric and Emira then started to encourage her about the powerful spells she was talking about, to which Luz admitted she didn't know any.
Amity then turned to Hazel. "Hazel, you're our last chance! You must know some spells, right?!"
Hazel backed up, covering the white spots that began to appear from her stress. "I-i-"
"Yeah!" Edric yelled. "Do a fire spell! Now!"
Hazel felt time slow, as she began to take deep breaths. "I don't have my potion ingredients-"
"Don't worry about the potions, Hazel! Hurry, our grip is slipping!" Emira yelped, readjusting her grip. The demon couldn't take it anymore.
"I don't HAVE magic! I can't cast spells!"
Everyone stared at her in shock. this gave the Slitherbeast a chance to free it's hands with a roar. The Blight twins are yanked into the snow. Amity was about to help them, until the Slitherbeast picked all three up. Amity, however, falls through, landing on the snow. "No!"
Putting the Blight twins into the claw holding Eda, it runs off. The captured witches yell as the Slitherbeast fades into the distance. The three withes left alone began to chase after them, but didn't make it far as they stopped, panting for breath.
