hiroto is a very stereotypical asshole in terms of his personality, meaning that he's extremely standoffish and cold towards others, he has a tough shell that covers him and it's nigh- impossible to crack except to those he's close to which consist of the one he looks after, his charge so to speak.

hiroto is also described as being emotionless, he's a stone wall to other people's emotions, he just can't connect with people as the empathetic and sympathetic part of his brain just doesn't seem to be switched on as he's been completely desensitised to external stimuli, which means there are many concepts that he has just come to accept as part of life.

hiroto is a reserved individual, he doesn't often make a scene of things, and he prefers to simply relax and read, listen to music, practice his hobbies or hang around the select people he likes. while he's a reserved individual don't mistake it for sloth or laziness, he's a very active individual, he simply prefers to be as minimal as possible, not seeing the point in being energetic and enthusiastic at all.

hiroto can be described as a loner, it wouldn't be too far from the truth, because the fact of the matter is that he finds serenity and peace in silence, if he's hanging around anyone it would only be the young lady, for he's grown up alongside her and cares what happens to her.

many people often give hiroto the benefit of the doubt and say he isn't a rude individual, however that statement wouldn't be correct, and hiroto would tell you that himself. he's a very rude person to pretty much everyone and that's due to the fact he doesn't like people in general, sure there are exceptions to the rule but most of the time he just wants people to leave him to his own devices.

it would seem from an outside perspective that hiroto would possibly have a negative outlook on life, however that's not entirely true, hiroto himself has a nihilistic view on life and the world, which means that he believes that only the individual gives meaning to the world, so if people believe him rude it's their choice and views and he can't change that. hiroto naturally has his own views and beliefs upon the world and people, and ultimately he believes that life is filled with disappointments which is why he chose to not give life meaning he didn't wish to experience.

that all being said however, the man is a completely different person around his one and only friend, the girl he was charged with protecting ever since he was nine. with her he is kind and sweet, he's attentive and helpful, even capable of emotionally connecting with her when she needs comforting or advice. to him she's the only one that matters, he protects her with all his strength because getting the job to care for her is the reason he was taken from the harsh life he'd led before.
