My first trimester of pregnancy went pretty well. Hindi ako naging maselan at kahit na anong pagkain ay kinakain ako. I even think that I gained weight. Pansin 'yon dahil medyo nagkaroon ng laman ang braso ko. Even my chin looks wrong in my eyes right now as I stared at my reflection through the mirror.

"Hellios..."

"Hmm?"

"Can you be honest with me?"

"I'm always honest with you, Chloe."

Huminga ako nang malalim. Nakita ko siyang tumayo mula sa pagkakaupo sa dulo ng kama namin at naglakad palapit sa akin. From our reflection through the mirror, I can't help but to pout my lips when I saw how handsome he is right now.

He is wearing a sky blue button down shirt tucked in a khaki pants that slightly hugged his legs. Mayroon rin siyang leather belt na binagayan pa ng kulay brown niyang leather shoes. This man screams perfection. Habang ako ay tumataba na nang mabuti lalo pa sa suot kong kulay pink na maternity dress.

Mas lalong nanghaba ang nguso at inalis ang tingin sa kaniya.

He wrapped his arms around my protruding belly and placed his chin above my shoulder. Titig na titig siya sa akin sa salamin. At sa unang pagkakataon ay nakaramdam ako ng pagkailang dahil pakiramdam ko ay ang pangit ko para sa kaniya.

"What is it that's making my baby frown?" he asked.

"I'm starting to get fat, Hellios."

"And you became even more beautiful with that extra weight."

"I don't think so. Pakiramdam ko ay hindi na ako bagay sa'yo. Look at you. Ang gwapo tapos ako ay ang taba ko-"

"Maganda pa rin. Fat or thin, you're still pretty. Angelique said that it's normal for you to gain weight so why worry?"

Hindi ako nakasagot sa kaniya. I was just looking at my reflection and even if he told me comforting words, I still feel bothered. I have never been this conscious towards my appearance ever since. Ngayon pa lang na nakikitang may nagbabago na sa itsura ako.

"You have to accept all the changes you're experiencing today and will experience in the future, Elizabeth. Nothing more pretty than a wife carrying a child in her womb."

I shook my head. "No, don't say that. Wives who can't bear a child are still pretty. Masuwerte lang talaga ang mga babaeng nagkakaroon ng pagkakataon magdalang tao. But still, every woman is pretty with or without a child. Always remember that."

He didn't say anything and just stared at me through the oval mirror. There was a smile on his lips and I realized that maybe, it's just my pregnancy hormones acting up today. Despite these changes, I'm still happy and overwhelmed that we have a baby growing healthy in my womb.

"Ah, look at this preggy! Still pretty as ever! Parang hindi limang buwang buntis!" It's Tita Erica who said those words as soon as Hellios and I entered the open garden restaurant.

"I already feel that it's a baby girl! Sabi nila, kapag maganda ang nagbubuntis ay babae ang anak." sabi ni Tita Ruella, isa sa mga tiyahin rin ni Hellios.

"I doubt that! I looked awful when I was pregnant with Embry. I still remember myself being always sulky for I felt like I was the ugliest before." Mama Empress smiled but the sudden glimpse of sadness passed her eyes.

Tipid na ngitian ko si Mama. Hellios beside me let out a soft chuckle.

"My wife here was also emotional earlier before we arrived here. Ang sabi niya ay tumataba na daw siya."
