the beginning

Darkness.

That's the first thing I remember...

It was cold

And it was damp.

I gasped, as the cold, bitter air filled my lungs.

My eyes shot open, and pain instantly fills my body.

I winced in pain, as I try and move my legs from the scrambled position they were in previously.

My bones ached, and I began to feel movement from my fingers as they curl into fists.

I slowly move my head to the side, to then look at my hand and what it held.

A necklace.

A golden, love heart, necklace.

I release a small smile, before fear rushes over my body.

My mind inflates with questions.

'Who am I?'

'Where am I?'

'Why am I here?'

'Why do I hurt so much?'

'Why do I even have this necklace?"

'Is there anyone here?!'

But then, I saw the moon, just before the sun could come up.

It was so big...and...so bright.

I didn't feel scared anymore.

I took a deep breath, and I soon realise that I'm now standing, and looking towards the beam of white light.

"Adora..."

A booming, and yet calm and soothing, voice spoke to me.

My eyes narrowed in confusion.

"Who?" I whispered, my voice hoarse.

"You will be known, around this broken world, as Cupid." It spoke.

"What? Who? Me?" I ask the white ball in the sky.

...

I look away from the sky, and begin to walk.

However, I didn't get far as I realised that I am wearing a gorgeous light red skirt, and a dark red corset, that flowed to the floor, and wore a white, long-sleeved shirt underneath.

I continue to walk until I feel something underneath my foot.

I look down and notice that I stood on a gorgeous white bow.

I pick it up and examine it.

Pure white.

"Wow..." I mutter.

I then look beside the bow and find that there are, in fact, white arrows.

I gasp in amazement, as I realise that the shaft of the arrows shimmer with gold, and light pink.

As if it was an instinct, my right hand placed the arrow into the bow and placed my pointer finger above the arrow, then put my middle finger and ring finger on below the arrow.
