Yoru x Reader: I'll Return

Chapter 2 - Operation: Icebox

It was now the day of the operation and you finally arrived within the Icebox in Russia. You set out on a stealth plane with Phoenix and Yoru. Brimstone was in the communication center within the Valorant headquarters. Brimstone was looking into a widescreen that spotted the Icebox sector.
"Alright kids, make sure that you understand the objective: Look for anything suspicious and if it peeks serious interest, try to bring it in for our inspection, [Your Name], I had given you a special casing device holstered within your gadget belt."
You nodded as the plane shook violently. "Understood sir!"
As the plane's hull opened, Phoenix gave the pilot a thumbs up and he jumped off the plane along with Yoru. You had a grim look on your face as you look downward, horrified that you might not be able to make it with the distanced drop below.
"Oi, [Your Name]! Jump now! The plane can't take you directly to the Icebox headquarters, they have a scanner that detects the plane!" Phoenix shouted from his communication device.
As you felt the need pull on the parachute line, you felt a draft pull upward as the parachute poofed open and you landed next to Phoenix and Yoru. Phoenix was on his binoculars, scouting for any guards and secret rooms.
"You see that room called Sector X: Unauthorized Personnel Only?" Phoenix asked as he pointed over using his index finger.
As you used your own binoculars, you managed to find the room. "Yeah that room looks like the one room that they're doing Spike projects."
Yoru on the other hand was itching for battle but he grunted as he knew that any attack that he did would jeopardize the operation. Phoenix was setting up some flanks in the front gate and disabling the guards, whereas Yoru... well... he's probably doing his own work at this point so you honestly have no clue.

"Where's Yoru?" You asked within the coms. "Isn't he suppose to be a scout? I can't see him through my radar map on my watch."

"Nah, remember [Your Name] you're the scout, he and I are the baiting flankers. We try to eliminate what we can silently without any disruptions, that way you can figure out what this organization is up to alright? Try not to miss him." Phoenix explained with a smile.

"Alright, understood. And no I do not miss Yoru at all," You exclaimed coldly. As you move in you almost got seen by one of the guards, you quickly head backwards in fright.
You heard one of the security guards ask, "Did you hear that?"
"Let's check that out."
As you hear the guards walk towards your position you felt as though your heart would stop if they ever found you but nothing came. You didn't hear any guns clicked, ready to shoot you as you closed your eyes, hoping that they wouldn't come. All you heard was a familiar sound of Phoenix's calm voice.
"Hey guys," Phoenix smiled as he pulled his Ghost quickly out of his pocket and shot them both on the head without any disruption.
"You okay, [Your Name]?"
"I'll be fine. Thanks for that. I'll keep going now." As you stood up, you tried to silently run towards the Section. The door silently closed itself tight and as you stood after you rolled into the room to avoid suspicion, you looked around as several scientists wearing a set of protective gear around themselves with protective goggles and gloves were still transfixed with their typing on the computer systems, unaware of your presence.
"These scientists don't even know that I'm here. That's weird," You whispered into the coms.
"Keep searching. We're giving you time," Phoenix explained.
As you walked forward, you noticed another set of scientists carrying a weird canister into their storage containers.
"Guys I found their Spikes. They're transporting it somewhere but I need to find out their distributors," You whispered gently into your coms as you tried to hid behind one of the computer sites.

As you tried to get into an empty computer station to type away in search of some information about the matter, a scientist was able to spot you and he nearly shouted, "H-Hey you're not supposed to be here!"
You managed to do a sweep kick on his legs and disable the scientist just in time before more other scientists were gathering to hear what is happening.
You managed to grab one scientist and take out your Ghost pistol after a bunch of scientists tried to punch and kick your way.
"Don't even try it! Don't you dare set the alarms off. Let me grab one of your Spike samples and we all can go free, alright?" You exclaimed forcefully as you moved towards a whole bunch of Spikes and quickly took out the storage container that Brimstone had setup for you. The Spike that you managed to pick up easily slipped into the storage container and shrink into an orb. You slipped the orb into your gadget belt and you managed to let go of your hostage. The scientist frantically ran towards the other scientists in fright.
You were walking backwards towards the exit of the laboratory sector while keeping an eye out for any of the scientists who would dare pull the alarm trigger. Gladly they didn't as you felt the door open behind you, however, as you exited, you weren't aware of the guard that was walking towards the sector lab.
"Hey you! What are you doing here!?"
As you instantly turned around to shoot him and you managed to land a shot, he managed to give one last shout on his communication device. "All units we have ...intruders in the Sector X illegal area...!" The guard drew his final breath until you hear the sirens blaring loudly into your ears. The siren echoed throughout the entire Icebox sector and you hear the guards marching toward you. You looked around for an escape but you were helpless. 
Shit! How the fuck did I get into this mess...!
You managed to find a way to run back to the entrance of the Icebox as you shot your way through a whole bunch of guards.
"Yoru where are you I need-"
Before you managed one last word, you felt a cold hand on your shoulder as your head slowly turned left and your eyes widened in surprise. You saw a blue tear of space that rippled through the air and you saw a familiar face but you weren't sure who it was. The figure looked like a demon from hell itself, however you saw a familiar face as he revealed himself to be the blue streak haired Yoru, pulling his own sheriff and managed to kill three guards in under a minute.
"Y-Yoru, h-how-?!" You choked as if you had something in your throat.
"[Your Name], how in the world did you manage to fuck this up. I'm desperate for battle but god you're terrible!" Yoru shouted as he kept shooting effortlessly.
"Hey at least I got what we needed! I'm calling Brimstone for a ride!" You shouted back as you tried looking for cover. You managed to hid behind the nearest large canister to find cover from the heavy fire. "[Your Name] to Valorant Headquarters, [Your Name] to Valorant Headquarters, are you there!?"
"[Your Name] what is your status report!?" Brimstone exclaimed as he noticed the background on his screen with heavy fire. "I told you guys to not blow cover! How did they find you guys!?"
You tried to usher out a word to explain but Brimstone cuts you off.
"I'm calling an airforce within your vicinity to pick you all up, ETA in twenty minutes! Hold up the line!"
As you ended the communications, you picked up one sheriff off of your belt and you kept shooting until one of the guards' shots grazed your hand. You cried out in pain as you accidentally dropped your sheriff.
"Dammit I shouldn't have dropped my gun!" You shouted in anger as you held your grazed hand.
Yoru managed to drop his sheriff but instead, he summoned out his Vandal and managed to shoot all of the guards while dashing through the air.
"I'm having loads of fun. I don't care if there are fifty of them, I'm gonna kill them all," Yoru gave you a slight smile.
You shook your head, annoyed of the idea. "Brimstone said twenty minutes before our flight comes in!"
"Just enough time to kill off this entire squadron." Yoru leaped back into the heavy fire and still kept his aim, you couldn't help but stare at him for a few minutes until Phoenix's voice cut through your ears.
"[Your Name], Yoru! Our flight is here let's go!"
"Where were you, Phoenix?!" You exclaimed as you tried to shoot from your leftover Ghost pistol.
"I scouted something else besides the Spike projects, that's why I took so long. I'll brief headquarters when we get home safely! Let's move!"
You, Phoenix, and Yoru managed to run into the snowy banks away from the Icebox sector and hopped onto the plane that was not nearly visible due to the heavy snowstorm that was occurring. The plane took flight as soon as the plane's hatch closed behind you guys. The guards below tried to shoot down the plane but the plane's speed was too fast for their bullets to travel.
"Sir Brimstone, mission accomplished we have what we came for, " Phoenix exclaimed as he immediately sat down on the plane's compartment seats.
"Good work team, I'll see you at headquarters," Brimstone smiled.
As the communications ended, Phoenix looked down in worry. "I just hope that whatever I had found isn't serious as I thought."
You couldn't help but also look down in worry as you managed to close your eyes in deep thought but instead, fall asleep due to so much exertion.
