Chapter 4: Battle in Mexico

As you were shooting in the range, switching from the Vandal, sheriff, and Phantom, you noticed Yoru watching you but Yoru managed to walk away. You tried to shout for him but you couldn't help but feel a bit upset at yourself so you continued to shoot in the range.

"Dammit, why can't I stop staring at her, this is very annoying," Yoru muttered to himself but didn't realize that Phoenix was there. Phoenix popped up out of nowhere and smiled, "Hey Yoru what's up."

Yoru nearly jumped in surprise and his eyes widened, "You idiot, you nearly scared me! The fuck!"

Phoenix giggled, "What's going on my dude, why you watching [Your Name]? Finally interested in her?"

"Oh shut up, idiot. I was just making sure that she's okay," Yoru crossed his arms as he leaned towards the wall and closed his eyes.

"Oooooh! Nah man, you're gonna get her I bet you a hundred bucks that you are gonna fall for [Your Name]," Phoenix smiled as he poked at Yoru's shoulder with his finger.

Yoru sighed in annoyance, "Alright alright, deal."

Yoru and Phoenix shook hands in agreement and Phoenix disappeared into thin air. Yoru walked back into the range and joined you for the very first time. "Uh hey, [Your Name] you want me to practice with you?"

You looked at him in surprise and smiled back at him, "Sure, even though I kinda dislike you."

Yoru slightly smiled, "Ouch, alright then."

As you and Yoru managed to get a few targets down with the selection of guns from the rack, you couldn't help but feel a bit of a lump on your throat as you couldn't help but look at Yoru when he took aim with his sheriff.

Damn, why am I staring. That's just rude of me, no way am I falling for this guy. That dream that I had of him... dying to what looks like KAY/O... that was... weird. Why did I have such a nightmare even if I don't even know who Yoru really is...

You couldn't hear Yoru shout at your name until the bullets stopped firing. "Hey! Are you listening to me?" Yoru exclaimed.

You couldn't help but look up at you and you felt dumbfounded, "Uh yes?"

"Um, I'm gonna introduce you to our VR training room, I'm sure that will help you boost your precision aiming and your instinct," Yoru said as he tucked his sheriff into his gun belt.

You nodded as you walked with Yoru. As you were walking, you nearly looked at Yoru as you were walking and as you were slightly staring, Yoru looked down on you and you quickly averted your gaze.
"What's wrong, noobie? You're acting a bit weird."
"Oh nothing nothing," You explained as you forced a smile.
"Here we are."
You looked back and you found a door that reads VR Training Room.
As you both enter you realized that the entire room is huge, filled with nothing but squares and white colors.
"Umm this is the VR Training? There's no-" You explained but you got cut off by Yoru.
"Computer, switch on training!"
You heard the computer said in a monotonous tone. "Training simulation starts now."
The room around you and Yoru started to form into something similar. You were transported to the same situation that happened in Russia, Icebox.
You and Yoru were surrounded by the same guards that were trying to shoot you down when you nearly failed your mission.
As you prepared your Vandal and started shooting, you managed to get a few kills and Yoru looked back at you and said, "Nice [Your Name]! You're not so noobish as I thought."
However, something else occurred in the process. The training room distorted itself into something else. The room was ablaze, the color red and yellows enveloped you and Yoru.
"What is going on... computer!?" Yoru shouted.
"A random anomaly has taken over," The computer monotonously explained.
You couldn't help but look around and as you moved forward, you were faced with a familiar figure. The man wasn't truly a man, but a machine. His face was showing a computerized blue and green triangular icon and on his hand, he gripped on what looks to be an orb that glowed an eerie blue.
"K-KAY/O?!" Yoru shouted. "How the fuck-"
Before Yoru could try to make the first move and tried to cast his blinding orb, KAY/O casted his orb and managed to detain Yoru.
"Sh-Shit!" Yoru muttered under his breath as he struggled to get out of the blue purple electric ropes that enveloped him.
As you couldn't help but feel frozen in place, you noticed that he was readying his crystalized blade in his right arm.
No... this is just a simulation...! This is a simulation. There's no way KAY/O could've infiltrated the base!
Before you took out your pistol to try and shoot, the whole entire room turned back to a normal peaceful white.
"What the hell was that, [Your Name]?" Yoru exclaimed. "Damn this is just a mere image."
You lowered your gaze in thought but Yoru looked at you for a few minutes, still wondering what you could possibly be thinking. Before Yoru tried to say a few words, the room bursted open and you seen Killjoy in shock.
"Guys! KAY/O is attacking Mexico right now! We need to do the operation now!"
You and Yoru both looked at each other and nodded as you stood up and ran towards the bay area that held most of the planes. As you were running, you couldn't help but speak out loud of your thoughts, "Yoru, I'm sorry for that... that was quite embarrassing and..."
"Hey, its going to be okay. If we do see KAY/O we'll be ready."
You mustered up a smile and you nodded firmly. "Right!"
