Yoru x Reader: I'll Return

Chapter 7: An Uncanny Assault II

As soon as Yoru jumped off the plane and into the Australian wilderness, he begins to realize that he isn't alone as multiple robotic mercenaries surround him but nothing can stop his vengeance as he took out his Vandal and obliterated the entire squadron. Yoru pushed aside the brushes of the wilderness as he moved forward until finally he saw a facility that sits near the edge of a cliff area of vast drylands. Surprisingly some of the guards were actually human which is quite strange, why are there some humans in support of this operation?
As he approached, the alarms blared throughout but Yoru didn't panic. He moved onward into the gates as if he didn't give a care in the world, like he owns the facility.
"Hey you, this is private property!" One of the gate soldiers exclaimed as he took aim.
"I don't care, I'm here for KAY/O," Yoru explained as he took out his sheriff and aimed at the soldier's head. The bullet pierced his metallic skull and the soldier fell flat on the ground as sparks flew.
As there were countless squadrons, Yoru just annihilated everyone with his Vandal. But as he laid destruction upon everyone, he left one for last as he held the soldier's armor strap and asked, "Tell me, where is KAY/O hiding! Tell me where I can find [Your Name] before I blast your fucking head off!"
"He's-He's in... th-that door! Please... don't hurt me... you're a demon... you killed thousands of us... you're not human...!" The human soldier stuttered in fear shaking his head wildly as his hands were up in surrender. 
"Remember this masked face, loser, I'll let you live since you're shitting your pants right now. I'm a god so don't you ever cross my path again," Yoru explained as he let go of the soldier. As he walked away, the soldier couldn't stand up, surrounded by bodies piling up like a dumpster.
As he entered the final room, he saw KAY/O prepared with his crystal blade and saw you unconscious, still fresh with blood dripping.
"What did you do to her KAY/O?!" Yoru shouted.
"Oh ho, she is a feisty warrior, like you! She wanted to fight me badly but my spiked cuffs that engulfed her are tearing into her flesh and with her blood, I can try to decipher what her capabilities are."
"You're insane, KAY/O!" Yoru exclaimed as he leaped into the air and managed to try and slice him with his own crystal blade.
"Ah Brimstone lent you this blade," KAY/O snickered. "How amusing, now you get to feel the same pain that he has been carrying."
As the blades collided, you couldn't help but wake up slowly, your vision blurred from all the blood loss.
"Y-Yo... ru? Is that... you?" You asked out loud.
Yoru turned around and looked at you in shock, "[Your Name]!"
But as soon as he tried to run towards you, KAY/O managed to cast out his binding bomb on him, pinning him to the ground.
"No! Yoru!"
KAY/O laughed, "Finally, the heart of dimensional warping... is MINE!" KAY/O was raising his crystalline blade over Yoru's head as he was ready to strike. You realize that the prediction that you had dreamed of is right in front of you, it is literally happening.
No this cannot be... it's literally happening... my prediction! What should I do... why are you real!? What is even real...! Yoru... I... I love you! I need to save you!
You felt your body release itself and somehow instinctively, KAY/O stood still, shocked by what just happened. But the blade that KAY/O held was so close to Yoru's pointy hair that Yoru was breathing slowly in shock. He saw that you were wielding Yoru's blade and managed to pierce KAY/O's chest.
"That... speed... it exceeds beyond... Yoru's... what is that... power!?" KAY/O exclaimed as he was already in the fritz.
"I realized that I was different than the rest of my American agents... and now I've come to accept them...! But you of all the people, you wouldn't be able to understand how much I've suffered! So DIE! Leave Yoru alone and everyone else that fears you!" You exclaimed as you plunge the blade deeper into his chest and through his back, piercing his power supply.
"NO not my... supply!" KAY/O screamed as he exploded into pieces.
As the entire facility crumbled due to KAY/O's explosion, you barely awoke to the rubble of the facility, you were a bit trapped under the heavy rubble but you managed to push some away. You stood up in hopes that you would find Yoru. Smoke was covering the entire area and you coughed a little as you inhaled some of it by accident. You found Yoru unconscious nearby a heavy pile of rubble and ran up to him. "Yoru!"
You laid his head on his lap for a pillow and you gently tapped his face in hopes that he gains consciousness. "Yoru please wake up...! I don't want to lose you... I'm so worried about you all of a sudden... I don't know why... I have so much to tell you..."
You were in tears as your forehead touched Yoru's, but in doing so, you felt a hand graze your cheek a bit and a whispered voice from Yoru saying, "I know... and I regret not telling you.."
"Yoru! Thank god!" You exclaimed as you held his head near your chest. "Can you stand?"
"Y-Yeah, barely though. Where's that son of a bitch KAY/O?"
"I killed him... with your blade," You explained with a serious face.
"Atta girl, that's the kind of spirit that I like. Confident and ambitious," Yoru smiled but groaned in pain.
You looked at him for a minute as your eyes met with his and you couldn't help but kiss him in the forehead and cheek.
"I can't stop myself..." You explained as you felt flustered.
"Call for backup, we need to defuse the rest of the Spikes that KAY/O had placed."
You nodded as you helped Yoru stand up to his feet but during the fight he barely could stand nor walk so he was limping his way as his arm was over your shoulder. You held your free arm out and have your lips over your gadget watch, "Valorant Headquarters come in! Yoru is injured, we need medical assistance!"
Brimstone sighed, "I'm glad that you're alright kid, but Yoru getting the beating again after he's learned his lessons... but regardless, where is KAY/O? Is he-"
"Dead. I killed him... with the blade that Yoru had," You explained barely speaking.
"You sound like you're losing conscious, [Your Name], don't worry, back up is coming!"
As soon as Brimstone said those last words, you couldn't help but topple on the ground unconscious as your vision blurred to black.
As you woken up, you felt a slight rumble and your ears blared from the sound of the plane. As you slowly waken, you saw Yoru beside you unconscious, covered with a medical H20 mask and a white bed.
"[Your Name], please rest, you're bleeding more than Yoru," Killjoy explained as she gently shoved your shoulders as you tried to get up.
As you reach headquarters, you couldn't find Yoru anywhere but just several of the familiar faces of your friends. "H-Hey..." You greeted in a weak tone. "Wh-Where's Yoru?" 

"He went on a dangerous mission... there's a final bomb somewhere that we don't even realize until the very last couple of hours, so he has approximately two hours to defuse that final bomb," Phoenix explained in sadness. 

"What do you mean!? I thought he's hurt badly!" You exclaimed as you tried to get up. 

"Easy there, tiger, don't make the nurses put anesthetics on you and knock you out cold," Phoenix tried to gently shove me back in bed. "You've already done your part for the team, now you need to get some rest."

"I want to see Yoru so badly... I... I honestly feel like I won't see him again," You said as you felt your eyes well up in tears.

"[Your Name], he said he'll be back. His words were, 'I'll return'," Phoenix explained with a smile as he tried to mimic his voice at the very end. "I think he also kissed your forehead too after he said that."

You couldn't help but weep in fear and cried out loud even though you were in pain all over. Your heart felt like it was gonna break in two, "Phoenix... I think... I'm in love with Yoru."

"We already know, it's written all over your face," Phoenix smiled as he placed his hand gently above your head. "Just pray, my friend, alright?"

You nodded. As the nurse started walking over, she explained, "I'm sorry [Your Name], I pray too that Yoru will come back to you. I can tell that he's taking a liking to you and you both have grown so much development together under such a small span of time. I'm gonna have to give you anesthetic injection so that you can rest and have peaceful dreams about him alright?"

You smiled and nodded, "That's fine, I need to rest anyway. I'm getting tired."

As the nurse injected the needle into the line of your arm, you tried to talk to Phoenix about something but you couldn't remember. Your vision blurred and you drifted off to sleep. 

Yoru was on an undetectable jet, hovering over what looks to be the Antarctic waters. Snowy drifts floating above the icy pure blue waters and the sight of penguins and sea lions appearing.
"Brimstone, where is the last bomb I don't detect it on my radar!" Yoru exclaimed.
"You have five minutes left to defuse the last bomb, it's forty degrees to your left!"
As Yoru made a sharp left within his jet, he saw what looks to be the Spike container, hidden underneath an army of penguins as the penguins started pecking curiously of the peculiar object.
"Damn these stupid penguins might trigger the bomb if I don't hurry!" Yoru thought to himself as he landed the plane.
As he tried landing on the icy surface, the icy ground started giving way as the Spike started its final stages where rippled cracks form beneath.
Yoru tried to run as fast as he could trying his best to not shove aside the penguins but rather jump over them without hurting them. As he made it to the bomb, he used the Spike Defusing device and tried to hold it despite on its devastating outcome. Brimstone in the headquarters was staring at the screen and droplets of sweat started forming as the timer dropped to twenty seconds.
"Yoru hurry!"
"I'm trying what do you think I'm doing!?" Yoru shouted as his body felt heavy.
As the Spike canister's middle bar began to move upward, the icy ground shook and a black hole was forming beneath Yoru's feet.
No... I shouldn't die here... I... I'm gonna see [Your Name] one last time...!
Luckily enough the bomb was defused in time and everything was normal again.
Yoru breathed a sigh of relief as he pressed on his watch and a digital figure of Brimstone appeared, "I need a vacation, Brimstone."
Back in headquarters, everyone started cheering in celebration, Brimstone smiled silently as he clapped his hands. "Wonderful job, Yoru. Head back to base, I'm sure that you deserve one."

As Yoru headed inside, he started to feel uneasy as he ran towards the Infirmary room looking for you. You were asleep and slowly woken up, seeing Yoru sitting next to you.
"Yoru? What are you-" You asked but instead you received a kiss in the forehead from Yoru himself. "I was relieved that you're safe, [Your Name]," Yoru explained as he smiled.
"Yoru you're acting weird. This isn't you what is happening?" You asked as you felt weird.
"Listen, [Your Name] I'm still an arrogant asshole but the thing is, I have feelings for you deep down and I was scared to tell you. I was afraid that I would definitely push you away because of what I am."
You couldn't help but feel tears welling up your eyes. "Yoru I... even I have feelings for you too, you're such a jerk you know."
You tried to sit up but instead you felt his warm lips reach yours and you couldn't help but settle back into the infirmary bed. "Rest now, [Your Name]... I'll see you again."
Just as he pulled away, you couldn't help but feel sleepy as your vision slowly enveloped into darkness.
