Unspoken Words [Nancy x Ace]

Chapter 5

Later at the Drew's mansion...

"Hey dad...I..." Nancy loudly added entering the house and stopped after seeing Ace sitting next to the dining table, and having laptop Infront of him,
"Oh... Ace is here..." She added looking at him feeling awkward about the earlier conversation of what Gil said,
"Yeah, I called him to trace Amanda's phone, or places she visits... after you informed me that she isn't cooperative towards you and Ace" Carson added walking to Nancy,
"Oh, that's a good idea..." Nancy replied,
"Yeah, that way we can find if she tries to contact her father, we get there first, arrest Mr. Bobbsey and prove Ace innocent... Plus he gets full immunity"

"Umm... Sounds like a plan" Nancy added turning around towards the door once again,
"You are going again?" Ace softly questioned her, hoping she isn't avoiding him, and with a heart full of emotions, to pour Infront of her, tell her Amanda and his own feelings towards her,
"Umm yeah... I... I got to deal with the community work...at the station..." Nancy added,
"But you just came, have something at least" Carson added,
"No, it's fine dad, I'll grab something on my way" Nancy insisted,
"Alright..." Carson added thinking there is no way winning from her, "...but be careful okay...I don't want you get into any trouble... You know..."
"Dad, I'm going to be fine... I promise" Nancy added and gave a pat on his shoulder and opening the door she walked out

Ace kept looking at her leaving, thinking that maybe he lost her and they will never be friends again

"Having a grown-up irresponsible kid is just... Hard..." Carson exhaled,
"Don't worry Mr. D, she is going to be okay" Ace tried to comfort Carson,
"Yeah, I can worry little less when you are with her..." He replied,
"I'm sure she can handle herself alone" Ace replied as he gulped to which Carson sighed

A few hours later, that evening... At the station

Nancy was just going to meet detective park, when she bumped into Ace and his parents leaving the station,
"Oh hi... I didn't know you guys were here..." Nancy added looking at Ace's parents,
"Yeah, Carson called us to sign some documents regarding Ace's immunity... In the Bobbsey case... Yeah... They caught him..." Ace's mother explained,
"Yeah...All thanks to you and Carson Drew" Thom added in sign language to which Ace spoke on his behalf,
"Oh no... No... Don't say thank you... Ace is... My friend... It was my pleasure to help him" Nancy replied with broken words, trying to avoid eye contact with Ace,
"You and Mr. Carson is always very kind to us and Ace and we would love you'll to join us for Sabat... This Sunday..." Thom further explained,
"Oh... Umm... I'll try... But Carson should be there..." Nancy replied trying to avoid Ace as much as she can,
"But if you can join us, it will be great... I'm sure Ace will convince you sooner or later," his mom added with a smiley face,
"I'm sure he will" Nancy gave a faded smile looking at his mother and then took a glimpse at Ace,
"Anyways, I got to go see park now...you all have a good night"
"You too Nancy...take care" Ace's mother added rubbing Nancy's shoulder to which she smiled and the two walked out, but Ace remained behind

"Nancy, are you avoiding me?" Ace added stopping Nancy as she was walking inside,
"Umm... What? Why would I avoid you?" Nancy acted like she is all cool and noting affected her,
"No, it's just... Whenever I you come across me, you run away and avoid talking to me..." Ace replied,
"Ace... I'm not sure what you are talking about... And I really got to go and meet park... I'll see you tomorrow... Maybe" she added trying to change the topic,
"Yeah... Sure" Ace softly added and Nancy walked inside, heading to park's cabin, as Ace kept looking at her go away and took a deep breath and walked out

That night later, both Ace and Nancy had hard time falling asleep;
Ace trying to find thousands of possibilities why she was avoiding her, is it coz what Gil said about her feelings or she thinks that he happy with Amanda, unaware that they broke, and more scared to lose Nancy's friendship too

Nancy on the other side, was trying to find thousands of ways to avoid Ace or at least avoid communication with him, coz she had no answers to give to Ace;
What If he says that they are better as friends, coz he has a girlfriend already and loves her, or what if he feels that she caused this all and now he is guilty to be her friend and she loses his friendship too

After spending most of the time thinking about everything, Nancy and Ace both barely got any sleep, but she had to go to work and find some hints about the real frozen heart killer

The next day at the Claw...

"Hey, good morning" Nancy added greeting George and Nick as she entered the Claw,
"Good morning to you too Nancy" George replied,
"Where is everyone? Bess... Ace?" Nancy was curious coz everyday Ace was always first to be at the Claw,
"Oh Bess, got an early morning date... And Ace... He took off..." Nick added,
"Off? Is he okay though?" Nancy was worried for a second,
"Yeah... He said he got food poisoning... Which I feel is strange...coz Ace came here with even broken hand... Or sick sneezing earlier" Nick replied,
"So, you think he is... lying?" Nancy got Nick's attention now,
"Probably..." Nick shrugged,
"You two, don't be so hard on him... Poor him got his heart broken yesterday, maybe he just needs time to process his break up Amanda..." George added defending Ace,
"Wha- what? He and Amanda broke?" Nancy spoke with chocked words,
"Yeah... But wait... He didn't tell you?" George questioned her,
"No... I mean... We barely got time to talk... personally" Nancy added feeling a bit guilty,
"Umm... I'll see you two later... The cable guy I called to fix the issues with the community center cable is waiting..." Nick added interrupting the two girls,
"Yeah sure" George replied and Nick kissed her on the lips, "I'll see you later babe" and walked out

"Umm... I'll get back to work too..." Nancy added taking off her coat,
"Nancy... You got to talk to Ace..." George added as Nancy was walking towards kitchen, which made her stop,
"About what? Breakup with Amanda?" Nancy questioned her turning towards her,
"Yes... But also, your feelings for him" George replied,
"What? What feelings?" Nancy acted like she has no idea what George is talking here,
"Nancy, you know what I'm talking about... Girl I saw you how you look at him...and how he looks at you" George confronted Nancy,
"I don't know what you are talking about..." Nancy added trying to deny the whole feelings part,
"Nancy... You are going to lose Ace if you don't tell your feelings to him" George added,
"Yeah, I don't have anything to do with Ace" Nancy added and begin walking towards the kitchen quickly, "and I got to work now... And cover for Ace"

"Yeah, I thought you didn't have anything to do with Ace, Nancy" George sighed.
