Unspoken Words [Nancy x Ace]

Chapter 6

After thinking about what George said to her about Ace, Nancy thought to finally confront her emotions and check on Ace; after all, Ace is attempting to talk to her even after the conversation at the Bobessey's and that gave her some home that she will not lose Ace's friendship

She pulled her phone out and dialed the number to Ace, which he didn't pick and went on the voice mail
"Ace's phone... If you are here means I'm not available, try your luck next time"

"Okay, that's odd!" Nancy mumbled looking at the phone, "the whole day he tried to talk to me and now his phone is off? I hope everything is okay with him" she softly added and tried again but the same thing again, voice inbox!

"All okay Nancy?" George added walking into the locker room,
"Huh?" Nancy added turning to her and quickly continued, "yeah...yeah... It's just... I...I was contacting Ace..." And George raised her eyes brows and henceforth Nancy added, "of course to track a number I got... Which has a connection with Trott..."
Of course, she lied!

"Oh, ofcourse" George added with a smudgy face,
"Hmmm... Do you mind if I leave?" Nancy questioned her boss cum friend George, "I mean since Ace isn't here so I gotta dig on the lead myself" she continued of course lieing to George that she is on a lead and not going to check on Ace;
"Yeah, of course, it's gonna hit 9:00 pm... But you can go... I'll handle the dishes with Bess..." George replied,
"Oh don't worry about the dishes, I took care of them" Nancy added as she put on her coat and grabbed the bag from her locker,
"Oh, I see" George gave a smirk,
"Yeah, I promised I'll cover for Ace this morning... that's it...Nothing else"  Nancy added in deniel of her feelings as she walked out of the room, most likely she didn't want George to find out anything, not at that time, ATLEAST!

On the way to Ace's house, Nancy grabbed a large pizza from a take away on the way, for her and Ace of course, because she was sure Ace chose to lock himself up and definitely want it, and herself of course starving from not eating this afternoon too

After a while, she reached Ace's house but instead of parking her car close to hid house, she parked it a mile away and decided to walk to his house; in that time she can prepare herself to face Ace's questions; She reached to his home and walking to his door, was above to knock it, and realized that if Ace is inside, and if he chose to stay away from everyone, he will obviously not be available, and henceforth she decided not to enter through the door but climb Ace's room balcony

"Okay, since I'm already here... let's do this..." Nancy mumbled nervously and taking a deep breath, she climbed the trash can down and put the pizza box carefully inside the balcony and then grabbing the fences she strugglingly managed to climb inside

Ace on the other side, who was laying on the bed, deleting pics of him and Amanda from his phone, and scrolling he reached to one of Nancy's pictures he had taken a long time ago, on the birthday day, and that brought a small smile on his pale face, and one can say he smiled for the first time after his break-up with Amanda, and just then he heard someone jumping inside his balcony, he grabbed his laptop that was on the table, for the attack in case if it was someone trying to steal, unaware that it was Nancy

"Nancy, what you doing here?" He exclaimed as he saw Nancy standing on her feet with the box of pizza,
"Hi... Ace" she added with a nervous smile, "I came to check on you...even tho I knew that being sick is a lie"
"God, you scared the shit out of me!" Ace added placing the laptop back on the table, "come in...you could have used the door"
"Yeah... Umm, I didn't want to disturb your parents" Nancy added nervously,
"Nancy stop living... You know that they won't mind you even if you come here at 12:00am" Ace confronted Nancy, as spending time with her for these years, made him aware when she was lying exactly, and this was something only Ace knew about her, after Carson

"Actually... I thought... Since you didn't receive my calls, you will try to avoid me...if I come through the door and I had to... Choose this way" Nancy continued in nervousness placing the box on the table,
"Yeah... I was kinda... I just didn't want to talk to anyone..." Ace added as he sat on his bed, "...except you..." He continued looking up at Nancy who was still standing, "...but I guess you needed time too... too... I don't know what reason..."

"Yeah...Ace... About that", she added and scratched the back of her neck,
"Can I... Can I sit?" And Ace nodded with a yes,
"Ace I'm so sorry that Amanda broke with you coz of me" Nancy begin sitting next to him on the bed,
"Nancy, stop blaming yourself for everything... It wasn't your fault..." Ace replied being slightly pissed at Nancy's naive talks, of blaming herself always for everything, "...we never really had a future... I mean what was I thinking...? Marry the daughter of a criminal and lose my dignity?! Not happening...
...but guess I already did ruin my own status and life by falling into the mess by the Bobbsey's"

"Ace, you didn't ruin anything" Nancy replied looking at him,
"Yeah? How can you tell that I walk in the Claw and Nick, George, Bess... And you won't be looking at me like I'm a criminal?" Ace confronted with tears in his eyes, "...that's why I wanted to stay away from everyone"
"Ace... I would never look at you that way... You are my friend..." She added holding his hand slightly and looking into his eyes,
"Am I?" Ace questioned her straight and Nancy was lost a bit and suddenly the air she was breathing begin to choke her, and she released her grip from his hand.
